    Ohio City is great - perfect if you don't want to be shoulder-to-shoulder at some of the downtown places, and you can get better beer for cheaper.

    It's is where Great Lakes brewery is, market garden brewery, nano brewery, bier markt, among others. It's the primo beer capital of ohio. Also you could take a walk around the west side market one afternoon.

    That being said you probably wouldn't walk from Ohio City to downtown and some of the areas around it aren't the best (Tremont has had a bunch of car jackings and burglaries this year) - you would take a cab/uber/lyft to get downtown but it wouldn't be very expensive.

  • Wear body armor in OH city? Which parts? i'm usually in the neighborhoods surrounding the school at least 2-3 times a month and i haven't seen anything objectionable. Is it if you go way down Lorain or something that it gets bad?

    If you're not on the main strip by 25th it can be a little sketchy at night. Tremont has had all kinds of stuff go down this year - like car jackings in broad daylight.

    I wouldn't say the worst, but if you're in the immediate area on 25th by all the good places it isn't bad

    25th is fine, although I'm not really sure what hotels are over there I haven't noticed any.

    I'd suggest maybe south, like Independence. It's a pretty quick shot to downtown and a nice area.

  • I kind of got a chuckle out of the reality check that sundays at first energy is basically 50k+ idiots knocking back overpriced beers.

    riverview and lakeview are two of the worst places in the city. Riverview is right next to the west side market. That cleveland clinic across the street has the worst safety rating clinic wide. The area is bad.
