If carrying a CCW would entail getting training similar to police/military where you could get training time on one of those simulators, i'd go get one myself. But you should have to requalify once a year. I think these style of attacks we see in Israel are going to come here.

Military service is mandatory. Thus why the first person to respond with a firearm appears to be trained.

Although, I was in the military, and qualifying on the range didn't teach me anything...
Training/education about guns,,, is an excellent thing. There isn't anything wrong with
a mandatory course for anyone wanting to have guns...
except the usual.... the left - the enemy of common sense - the higgardlies, the bloombergs,
the obamao's, the reids/pelosies, the Brady orgs, etc etc etc...
will be pushing for exorbitant fees for said training. Instead of fifty bucks, they would happily
make it 5500 bucks.... and that is an infringement on our rights.

2 - Mozambique drill, cmon guy. 2 to the body, 1 to the head. If he does that from the start, he doesn't risk getting the machete thrown at him or his bullets going through the attacker and hitting one of the victims.

If the guy would have placed the shots where the were supposed to go, Little Jimmy Jihad would have been dead from the jump. As a general rule, handgun calibers don't matter between 9mm and .45. They will do the job but they are pretty suboptimal at dropping people on the spot. That is why I carry 9mm so I can get more chances to put one in someone's head or heart.

My .45s are fun to shoot. But I conceal a 9mm for the reason logic indicated. I can carry more ammo, plus I can pluck your tooth out at 25-30 yds.

If you really want to see how a round works actually shoot something that is alive with it. I hunt wild hogs all the time with dogs. My hunting buddies tried the 9mm and they just did not work that well. Actually the 357 did not either because I have put good shots on hogs with them and had them run.
The 45 works much better and it will put a hog down. I tested one hog where I shot behind the shoulder and another quartering shot through the chest. Then I opened up the hog and looked at the wound channel. All I can tell you is that you do not want to be shot with a 45 because the wound channel is devastating.
I have seen a hog shot through the lungs with a 9mm that ran about 10 yards and died. That is the only one. I try to put one in the hog's ear or neck if possible. Another good shot is high in the hips with the 45. It breaks bone and the hog will never get away. AND if he gets after you he will be slower and you can get up a tree or get more shots.
Another thing is that all bullets do not expand the same even though they are alike and the same ammunition. All hollow points do not open up but close up forming a cylinder. I dug the bullets out of hogs and checked for myself and did not rely on what was written in a magazine.
