  • I've heard from a few people I know that Johnny is back up to his old tricks and it sounds like it's an open secret downtown. I have it on good authority (a CPD cop I know and trust) that he was actually carried out of a downtown bar at 2 AM late last month because he was too drunk to walk. Sure sure, it could all be bullshit, but in my experience in these matters smoke means fire.

I want the dude to succeed here but if these accounts are true, it's gonna be really hard.

Not apologizing for the kid at all but let's apply some critical thinking here. Wouldn't him partying have gotten out in some way?

Alcoholism / addiction is a disease. excusing his actions and yes he has to be accountable but I empathize more than hate. I've experienced addiction from both sides of the fence. I'm 25 years clean after rehab for coke and alcohol.

Even rehab counselors are being led away from using that term. It takes away the personal accountability of rehab and addiction.

Don't get me wrong. He is responsible 100% for his actions. In all likelihood he should have been arrested today. I am aware there is a shift in SOME facilities on how they address the issue. There is solid evidence however to support its a disease. Perhaps my point would have been better made by simply addressing it as such instead of comparing it to another disease. Anyway I still have compassion and empathy for the kid. That doesn't mean he doesn't need some tough love.Crust me there's still a part of me pusses at him for ruining my Browns high since last week lol I also didn't intend for my original post to be a soapbox or confrontational. We are all entitled to our own opinions.

Did your NA counselor fill your head with that horse shit? Getting recurring cancer is not the same as choosing to snort some lines. Jesus.

so you're familiar with NA yet post this? I understand there are differences and my main point is they are both diseases. I don't expect everyone to understand my point. Whatever I was told must have worked since its 25 years and counting so I'll add a resounding fuck you for the arrogance and condescension in your post.

I have 2 sisters who are cancer survivors & 2 dear friends who are clean after many years abusing alcohol & alcohol/drugs. Those 4 people are still near & dear to me, regardless what the vehicle of their health issues may have been. Thankfully, I still have them as active friends & active family.

They have appreciated my support & prayers, both of which were given freely. I wasn't put on this earth to judge others.

Maybe TMZ viewed him as boring so stopped sending the paparazzi. Maybe now they'll send it again.

And alcoholism is something you can control. Cancer is out of your control. No comparison.

Lol and what do you know of "the source"? Thing is I've read a lot of your political posts. As far apart as we are in this discussion we are very close on plenty of others.
  • Well... here's hoping our Brown finds his way out of whatever level mess he may be in.

  • The statement from Farmer was pretty awkward.

  • Sounds like JM was out and his GF was wasted..so he trys to take her home...she gets out of control and they fight...she trys to jump out of car he has to grab her arm from falling out...drives erratically. .... I really dont see much here...hell my wife has done the exact same thing lol.

  • 4 pages and growing about our backup QB's off the field issues, and only 5 days after a huge win in our most hated rival's stadium...........

    Good times, good times.

Proof he was drinking. None. Just some TMZ bs that our usual JFF haters love to find.

He told police he was drinking. What kind of proof are looking for?

If you've been to rehab- rule #1- cop asks you- Hell no ain't been drinking. Obviously- Manziel wasn't trashed- the cop would 100% for sure would have busted him and done a field sobriety.

    @logicisforsquares said:

Initial reports are saying she was tanked. He was released because he was not intoxicated at thr time of getting pulled over. This is all from ESPN.

Lose\lose situation for Johnny- he dumps her on the freeway (for starting a fight)- it don't look good. Ain't no situation alcohol can't make worse.

    Been there, seen that.

  • I have been skeptical of JM but I had no clue about her until recently. After looking at her ridiculous pages and behavior I have little doubt she is an absolutely awful person for him to be around. The sooner he get's away from her the better. I suggest you guys check it yourself and judge for yourselves (obviously) but, from where I am standing, she seems like serious trouble.

I wasn't the one getting upset over someone taking offense over comparing cancer to alcoholism/drug addiction.

  • @tiamat63 said:

I know you're not comparing alcoholism to cancer.

I posing a simple question. If an athlete had a relapse of cancer would you be mad at him? Alcoholism / addiction is a disease. I'll get flamed for that sure but I don't give a shit. It's a fact. I'm not excusing his actions and yes he has to be accountable but I empathize more than hate. I've experienced addiction from both sides of the fence. I'm 25 years clean after rehab for coke and alcohol. Thank god I never tell relapsed but most do. I spent 10 of those clean years with an active addict. I hope he can get clean and realize his potential. Being fired may be what he needs to who knows. I just feel sad for him and his family. Tiamat I'll ad I don't make the comparison lightly as my mother passed from lung cancer. There's a good chance I think this has been an issue over the last month and is behind the signing of Davis.

But you were the one saying some ignorant shit. So you don't understand it? Fine. No shame in that. It's never something you had to deal with. Yay for your life choices.

I hope you're right. He's a Brown, and like any Browns player I want him to succeed.

But if alcohol is a problem for him, and he is trying to "control it", well then he's fucked. If a person has a substance abuse problem, they can't fuck with that substance. Period. Google Audrey Kishline for a good example of what happens to alcoholics who try to play the moderation game. Sooner or later it's going to bite them in the ass.

(It is important to point out that, as far as I know, we were never told what his real issue was in going to rehab. I think most of us assume it was for alcohol, but it could be anything for all we know. Maybe he's just a coke fiend who drinks like Oliver Reed when he gets jacked but when not snorting yak he can have a couple beers and be fine etc etc etc. Maybe he has a heroin problem. Who knows. Anything is possible.)

Bottom line: Alcoholics shouldn't drink. If they do, bad shit happens. AGAIN, I DON'T KNOW IF JM IS AN ALCOHOLIC, but if he is and he is still drinking, then sooner or later this is gonna happen:

  • It's the hooker he keeps around cuz she swallows. I've been with many crazy bitches in my years of fucking around. They will ruin your life if you let them. Hell I woulda helped her throw herself out the car.

"Women, dey can't hold dey smoke!"

My woman's birthday was yesterday. Went to our fave restaraunt she had a couple of glasses of wine. Stopped at the store to pick up some more Merlot for her for HER day. By 6 o'clock I was the biggest scumbag in the world, I was fucking my assistant ten years ago and I have to get the fuck out of 'her' house.

Yeah,I am a real dick for saying that being a booze hound isn't on par with cancer.

  • He needs to break ties with her, send her back to Texas on a jet, and

find a girlfriend who is the kind of gal with values he wants to keep to.

Maybe he realized it was over, talked to her about it...and she was totally po'd, got drunk....

    and he'll be just fine.

More the problem solver than the problem....we'll see. Hope he's good to go forward.

  • Ernie, regardless of what he went to rehab for, alcohol is a gateway "drug," and he thus shouldn't be drinking it. But I do find it hard to believe that he's been running the downtown bars for a month without that going viral in some way.
