SI doesn't know crap. I list these here because they are those dynasties that have either won at least 3 titles in a 10 year period, or have appeared in 5 title games in a 10 year period, no matter how many they have won. Chronologically (I just hope the board does not zap me):

    1922-24 Canton/Cleveland Bulldogs: 3 titles in 3 years (pre-playoffs)

1929-1939 Packers: 5 titles in 11 years plus one other title game appearance (partial pre-playoff)

1933-1941 Giants: 5 title game appearances in 9 years, but only 1 title

1937-1946 Bears: 6 title game appearances in 10 years, 4 wins

1946-1957 Browns: 11 title game appearances in 12 years, 7 wins

1952-1957 Lions: 4 title game appearances in 6 years, 3 wins

1960-1967 Packers: 6 title game appearances in 8 year, 5 wins

1970-1978 Cowboys: 5 title game appearances in 9 years, 2 wins

1974-1979 Steelers: 4 title game appearances in 6 years, 4 wins

1976-1983 Raiders: 3 title game appearances in 8 years, 3 wins

    1981-1989 49ers: 4 title game appearances in 9 years, 4 wins

1982-1991 Redskins: 4 title game appearances in 10 years, 3 wins

1991-1994 Cowboys: 3 title game appearances in 4 years, 3 wins

2001-2007 Patriots: 4 title game appearances in 7 years, 3 wins

Edited on 10/15/2012, Pats loss in last SB should be included in its dynasty.

The following are "Uncertified", i.e "not quite" dynasties, for various reasons:

1948-49 Eagles: repeat title winner, no other appearances

1949-1955 Rams: 4 title game appearance in 7 years, only 1 title

1958-1964 Colts: 3 title game appearances, 2 wins

1960-61 Oilers: repeat title winner, no other appearances

1960-1964 Chargers: 4 title game appearances in 5 years, only 1 title

1964-1965 Bills: repeat title winner, no other appearances

1969-1976 Vikings: 4 title game appearances in 8 years, no titles

1971-1973 Dolphins: 3 title game appearance in 3 years, 2 titles

1990-1993 Bills: 4 title game appearances in 4 years, no titles

1997-1998 Broncos: repeat title winner (though if you combine them with the 1986-1989 Broncos, you would have 5 title game appearances in 13 years with 2 wins. Still not a certified dynasty by my criteria)

2005-2010 Steelers: 3 title game appearances in 6 years, 2 wins (could become "certified" if they win another SB in the next 3-4 years)

Note....this  post made in 2011....Steelers did NOT go on to appear in another SB after 2010

Here is that thread from some time ago about the Dynasties. I will have some notes about the coaches/QBs of some of these soon.

          1922-24 Canton/Cleveland Bulldogs: 3 titles in 3 years (pre-playoffs)

No real QB per se at that time...stats on passing are sketchy. But, Guy Chamberlain was the HC of each of these teams.

1929-1939 Packers: 5 titles in 11 years plus one other title game appearance (partial pre-playoff)

Curly Lambeau the HC. Arnie Herber the QB for a part of this dynasty

1933-1941 Giants: 5 title game appearances in 9 years, but only 1 title

Steve Owen was the HC, but they had several QBs

1937-1946 Bears: 6 title game appearances in 10 years, 4 wins

          Halas/Luckman combination

1946-1957 Browns: 11 title game appearances in 12 years, 7 wins

          Paul Brown/Otto Graham combo

1952-1957 Lions: 4 title game appearances in 6 years, 3 wins

Bobby Layne the QB...but Parker/Wilson were coaches.

1960-1967 Packers: 6 title game appearances in 8 year, 5 wins

          Starr/Lombardi

1970-1978 Cowboys: 5 title game appearances in 9 years, 2 wins

          Landry/Staubach combo

1974-1979 Steelers: 4 title game appearances in 6 years, 4 wins

          Noll/Bradshaw

1976-1983 Raiders: 3 title game appearances in 8 years, 3 wins

Stabler/Madden for one then Plunkett/Flores for other 2

          1981-1989 49ers: 4 title game appearances in 9 years, 4 wins

          Montana/Walsh for 3, Montana/Seifert for one.

1982-1991 Redskins: 4 title game appearances in 10 years, 3 wins

          Joe Gibbs and 3 QBs.

1991-1994 Cowboys: 3 title game appearances in 4 years, 3 wins

          Aikman/Johnson for 2; Aikman/Switzer for one

2001-2007 Patriots: 4 title game appearances in 7 years, 3 wins

          Brady/Belichick and counting

Copied and pasted from sports illustrated.

                1. Pittsburgh Steelers, 1974-79 Four Super Bowl titles in six years was their net worth. But here's another way to look at it -- had it not been for the Steelers, the Cowboys or the Raiders of that era might have ended up among the top-five NFL dynasties. Ten Steelers, including coach Chuck Noll, eventually ended up in the Hall of Fame. "The Steelers had the best grouping of players in the history of the game," ex-49ers coach Bill Walsh said recently. "No question about it."

                2. Green Bay Packers, 1961-67 Five NFL titles in seven years, including the first two Super Bowls. A larger-than-life coach in Vince Lombardi (and a larger-than-life win in the Ice Bowl, Lombardi's last game as the Packers coach at Lambeau). Twelve Hall of Famers. No wonder the Packers only lost 20 games in that seven-year span.

                3. Dallas Cowboys 1992-95 Three Super Bowl wins in four years -- and yet the Cowboys will always play the what-if game. What if Jimmy Johnson had remained as coach? And what if Jerry Jones had kept his roster intact instead of seeing it raided by free agency? "I don't believe our team was anywhere near finished doing what we could have done," said QB Troy Aikman.

                4. San Francisco 49ers, 1981-89 Two Super Bowl wins for Joe Montana. Then two more throwing to Jerry Rice. Montana's the only three-time Super Bowl MVP; Rice will go down as the league's greatest receiver. The 49ers, of course, were more than just those two. And don't forget the NFL's greatest backup QB, new Hall of Famer Steve Young, who led the 49ers to another Super Bowl in the mid-'90s after Montana's departure.

                5. New England Patriots, 2001-04 Unlike the first four teams, the Pats are not a team that relies on stars. Just seven position players since '01 have made the Pro Bowl (compared to the '90s Cowboys with 17 Pro Bowl performers). Instead, it's the coaching of Bill Belichick and his staff that sets the Pats apart. But the dynasty talk can wait for later. "Not now, not for me," Belichick said.

                6. Cleveland Browns 1946-55 In a 10-year span, Paul Brown's club won seven titles in the AAFC and the NFL. In '50, when the Browns joined the NFL, their first game was against the defending-champion Eagles. Final score? Browns 35, Eagles 10. Enough said.

                7. Miami Dolphins, 1971-73 Three straight Super Bowl appearances, with wins in '72 and '73. Their title success takes a backseat to the undefeated '72 season, the NFL's only perfect mark (17-0). That clinking of champagne glasses each fall comes from Miami when the last undefeated team is finally knocked off. They've downed plenty of bubbly since '72.

                8. Chicago Bears 1940-43 George Halas' team won three championships and reached the title game in the other year. The Bears' domination is epitomized in their '40 title win when they routed the Washington Redskins 73-0. That made the 37-9 title victory over the New u Giants the next year pale in comparison.

                9. Dallas Cowboys 1970-78 In a nine-season span, Tom Landry's Cowboys played in five Super Bowls and won two. Jim O'Brien's field goal denied them in '70, and the Steelers' dynasty cost the Cowboys two other wins. The more impressive number came in playoff appearances -- 18 straight from '66-83.

                10. Buffalo Bills, 1990-93 Can you build a dynasty without actually winning a title? If so, say hello to Marv Levy's Bills. No other team has played in four straight Super Bowls. If victories are required, may we suggest the '64-66 Bills, who reached the AFL title game all three years, winning twice.

Here is that thread Ghoolie. I put in two levels of Dynasties as you can see. Certifiable....and "Close"

I guess for this I did not actually include someone like The Bills who lost all their title games.

1958-1964 Colts: 3 title game appearances, 2 wins

I am wondering if I should not perhap "certify" the Colts as a dynasty? To do so I would have to allow for a dynasty to include more than a 10 year period.

The Colts went to the Title game in 1968, only to lose, but came back and won in the 1970 season. That is a period of 12-13 years. However, there was one common denominator on those teams: Johnny Unitas. Though he only played part of SBIII in 1968, he was the starter of SBV in 1970.

That would make the Colts: 5 title game appearances in 1958-1970, 3 wins.

Similarly, Brady/Belichick have been together for the 11 years...2001-2011 that the Pats appeared in 5 title games.

(the other thing I did not do is to include the 1994 49ers in with the 80s 49er dynasty. Different QB/coach combo)

A dynasty to be certified per my criteria must have either won at least 3 titles in a 10 year period, or have appeared in 5 title games in a 10 year period, no matter how many they have won.

I had already counted the Patriots as a dynasty...but how far should we take it? Should the Pats dynasty only cover their 2001 to 2007 period....or cover all the way up to now.

Over 14 seasons they have appeared in 6 championship games, winning 4. (and may not be done)

One single continuous dynasty? Same QB/coach combo, so I say yes.

2005-2010 Steelers: 3 title game appearances in 6 years, 2 wins (could become "certified" if they win another SB in the next 3-4 years)

Per my criteria, even if the Steelers by chance won the Super Bowl this year, they would not reach certified Dynasty status....which requires 3 wins in the course of 10 years, or 5 title game appearances. They would have 3 in 11 years, and 4 appearances in 11 years.

They would be in a category with the 1958-1970 Colts. Same QB (yea, they ain't winning it without BR coming back) one of the same coaches.

Who votes yea? (or perhaps we should just wait to see if they win......as if they don't, it becomes moot)

And, I am reviving this thread, based on comments made elsewhere.  Here was my original post, where I said that a dynasty was a team that won 3 titles in a 10 year period, or appeared in 5 championship games in ten years:

Second edit on 9/28/18    The Pats dynasty must be updated to include their 5 titles and 8 total appearances sinc 2001

See this post on "near dynasties".

NOW....the question is:    Which team, if any is poised to become the next Dynasty team?  Or near dynasty.

I had thought at one point a few years back that it may be the Seahawks.  They had appeared in 2 straight SBs and seemed poised for more, but they fell off.

                              Who now?

Someone said the Rams may be that team.  We shall see.

On the subject of "Near dynasties",  I don't know if any team, besides the Pats, could qualify.

Teams that have come closest since the Pats  2001-2004 period:

Steelers did make  3 SBs in a 6 year period, winning 2.   2005 and 2008, losing in 2010.  Had they won in 2010, then they would have met my criteria for a dynasty:  3 titles in 10 years,  but they didn't .   So they could be in with like the 1958-1964 Colts.    So they seem to qualify as "near dynasty).

ONLY   the Pats in 2016/2017  and the Seahawks in 2013 and 2014 made the SB in consecutive years (since the Pats won the 2 in 03/04.
