13 pages for a backup QB, with a lifetime losing record, that can't crack the roster with of a 2-4 team with a journeyman as their QB....13 pages 😵

so someone just took you hostage to post your post and make it possibly 14?

Just find it funny that people are so amped over a guy who hasn't proven anything. Manziel has been a circus since day one and done nothing to alleviate it. At this point he causes more problems then he solves and I'd be driving the Manziel for President 2016 campaign bus if, when he did play, I saw Andrew Luck type ability.

  • In my experience with addiction, addicts tend to be like icebergs. What you can visibly see is only the small part of their problems, and the majority of their issues lie underneath the public eye. In other words, I would guess his problems don't just deal with alcohol, and I would also guess it's much more serious than anyone knows about. I have no insider information, and I am not trying to spread gossip, this is just my opinion. Anyone who goes to rehab for 10 weeks has issues that go deeper than just partying too much. I actually commend him for trying to get his life right. Many of us on this board either have experience with addiction problems, or personally know people who have struggled. Do any of us know many people, if ANY, who got sobriety right THE FIRST TIME? I sure do not.

Sobriety and rehab is a process, and it takes support and continued effort. In order to be successful, Johnny will need to change his "people, places, and things." In other words, he needs change where he goes, scrutinize who he hangs out with, and develop safe and healthy hobbies. Now, he's done some of this already. He moved to a quiet neighborhood, plays golf and studies more...but he hasn't changed the people he associates with. This girlfriend of his is BAD NEWS. I obviously do not know her personally, and perhaps it's unfair of me to say this, but my overall impression of her is that she is in love with "Johnny Football" and the crazy life he brings, and not necessarily in love with him. If she loved him, she wouldn't be drinking with him. She wouldn't get hammered. She'd be a positive influence on him. If that's not what she signed up for, then he needs to make a difficult decision and cut her loose. But I've seen her posts on Instagram and Twitter...she's a partying socialite. NOT what he needs.

I'm going to give Johnny a pass on this one. I don't know one single wealthy 23 year-old who figured out sobriety the first time. It usually doesn't work that way.

I know a lady who celebrated being 25 years sober the week before last, she's only 44, I'll let you do the math, it's about personal accountability and choice regarding lifestyle changes, this is no shot at Johnny, I actually empathise with him, but to say he could make better life choices would be somewhat an understatement.

In regards to team punishment, private/public handling of it all, if Johnny wants to drink/do drugs whatever his poison is, he'll do it, regardless of discipline.

While IMO, this is a non issue, the FACTS we have presented remain an issue, he's young and felt the need to admit himself to rehab, we're told on his own free will, I true, this is a massive statement from a young guy tryin to find his own way in life an the way he wants to lead it.

If it was a "Hollywood style" announcement of saying "sorry I fucked up" and trying to garner press sympathy or anonymity, then his false cover will be blown, it's just a matter of when.

For the time being I personally feel the guy deserves a break, live and let live, he could still yet be the the quarterback this team has been yourning for since our return.

    Peace.

  • Where's the option to stand by him while he remains a Brown?

  • stay with the plan. this shit that happened to him with his drunk GF is just media fodder.

and to those that say start him to see what we have in him: didn't we do that last year and how'd that turn out? pretty sure they know what they got....a qb who needs some more time but is learning. and that's good.

This thread is just part of the circus and you just bought a ticket. 😁

But I agree with you that hes more trouble then hes worth.

  • Play him, trade him, suspend him, waive him, bench him, start him, cut him, release him.

    I dont even care anymore.

Sorry. I support the Browns and then get mad when shitheads get drafted and then act like shitheads. I tried to support him but he proved not to be worthy. H

Sorry, I thought you said you don't care anymore...

  • and Ill add that I didnt say or vote to cut him. Hes just not my idea of a good pro. Sorry.

  • Sorry...

  • Does sorry do it??

  • sure. No problem here. But this is an example of how he hurts the team and fans. Makes us fans angry and snippity and creates division where there should be unity. He keeps crapping on his team and the fans and getting defended by his followers. I promise this is happening in the locker room right now too. No matter how much they deny it.

  • Its sad that this is a legit question in year 2

    It isn't a legitimate question.

    So there's that.

I dont think its a non story at all....In fact, Im thinking this may be the end of Johnny here in Cleveland.....

There's a "final straw" out there somewhere. Hard for me to see this as being it.

Exactly. Maybe a dui would qualify.

Still if his play keeps improving....

Wait, 2-4 is Johnny's fault now?

Pettine had to spend part of the presser answering some questions. He and Farmer also had to have a 10 minute meeting, maybe answer a call or two from the NFL. Poor guy. What ever will he do with these 30 minutes that have been zapped?

That's how ignorant you are concerning business! You think this took 30 minutes....ROTFLMAO! Get back to your lemonade stand and hill-jack lawyering......

Did I say it was Johnny's fault..........maybe Johnny reads these threads and will invite you for a night out drinking for being the blind mule you are!

Your need to go straight to personal insults tells me your arguments aren't worth anything.

Yes it is. Even the biggest Manziel hater has to admit that the dude sounded pretty calm and together while being interviewed by the cops. Even if I hadn't done anything wrong, I think I'd still be shitting myself at that moment.

Yet you're still contributing to the thread.
