Crow's wings clipped?
-
It seems pett/flip seem to prefer Turbin as the big power back, and Duke has the 'satellite' back role all sewn up. Where does that leave Crowell? His carries have been somewhere between 10-15 all season, then this week he had 8. For 9 yards.
This season he's had about 80 rushes at around 3.5 yards a go, which is pretty much the definition of underwhelming, and it seemed like the whole coaching staff was waiting to get turbin healthy.
Just my imagination?
-
You're correct. They need to roll with Turbin as the lead back and stop this sharing carries business, it's not working.
Rams were ranked 21st in rush defense before Sunday and McCown had the second most rushing yards on our team.
-
Has he ever had more than 20 rushes? We ruined him.
-
We were supposed to have a future Hall of Famer leading this team in rushing right not in the prime of his career: Trent Richardson.
(again....just a notation about the continued failure of our top draft picks to produce....be it QBs, RBs, WRs etc.)
-
Turbin is a great downhill runner, from a strong team that we are clearly trying to emulate.
He was clearly intended to be the main man. No idea how Crow will fit in moving forward.

Crow could be to Turbin what Turbin was to Lynch, but it depends upon Winston. Winston is the unknown variable in this equation.

I just love the way we draft players and then trade or let them go. We've had Richardson, Tate, West, Crowell and now Turbin. Does anyone think that Turbin will have success? How can we really evaluate performances when they get fewer than 10 snaps a game? Pettine doesn't commit to the run and the Browns have no identity. This team is a hot mess

Richardson, Tate and West are having fantastic careers.
Sure do wish we had hung on to them.

We have the same OL that we did last year, but we don't have NEAR the same rushing offense. Obviously I realize that Shanahan is now gone, but from what our radio guys have said, we're still doing the same "zone blocking" scheme like last year, but nowhere near the same results. How often are the rb's getting hit in the backfield? Where are they supposed to go? Do we leave some yards on the field each game? Sure we do, but no team is perfect. Crowell had a definite nose for the end zone last year, but this year those runs aren't there. He is a much better receiver than last year, but the runs aren't there at ALL. With no threat to run, the opposition can just load up on the pass, and that's not fair to him. McCown was sold on this job because we had a solid OL and the promise of a good running game. Let's just say THAT hasn't worked out.

I remember when the fans made Shanahan get into a squabble with Farmer and Pet. Oh wait..

No but the fans blamed Shanahan for the poor play and support Farmer, wrong on both accounts.

Shanahan turned the 8th ranked offense in 2014 into the 5th ranked offense in 2015.
He's a real wizard.

Not the loser many on here painted him as when he left town. Just sad when fans are so blinded by loyalty they don't see the shit sandwich their being served.

He's an untalented pussy. Not a loser. There's a difference.
He whined and bitched because he's always had a dynamic QB and/or a dynamic WR. When he didn't get that here, he didn't want his "reputation" tarnished, so he bailed.
Johnson and Schaub in HOU. McNabb and Moss, then RG3 and (...Garçon? Maybe?) in WAS. Now Ryan and Jones in ATL. Shanahan can't win with shit talent. He can only make sure good talent doesn't crap the bed.
Fuck him and his rat-faced family.
