As much as I hope you're right I don't see much no nonsense stuff from Pett at the minute. We're soft, the Rams beat us up

In case you hadn't noticed...the Rams beat up nearly every team they play. They might not beat them all, but their defense is tough on everyone. Especially after the first 2 weeks of the season. They're not giving up a lot of points. Held the Packers offense to only 17 points, the Steelers only had 9 (i believe) when Rapelessburger went down.

Point being....lots of teams are getting beat up by the Rams.

Maybe Mark but I don't really care about what they do to other teams tbh, just because it happens to them doesn't mean we just accept it. We should be the team beating up on others, fuck everyone else

Ok...well that's one way of looking at it. The other is that the Rams have one of the toughest defenses in the NFL and getting beat up by the Rams isn't like getting beat up by a team with a soft defense. It's also taken several years for that defense to get to that point. It didn't happen overnight. In fact...looking at his record with the Rams he went 7-8-1, 7-9, 6-10 first 3 years. If he was the Browns coach and the fans had their way, he would've been fired already.

That's a fair point about Fisher. I'm still not convinced he's any good mind ha

ya know, i responded to the same bullshit that some other poster made similar to marks. With this kind of fucked up moral victory attitude, we will be in the fucking cellar forever. Need a coach to change this we came in second place mentality. As you said, who gives a fuck about the other teams. In order to be the best, you have to beat the best..remember that slogan??????

You know what...my attitude or yours for that matter, doesn't change how the teams plays one bit. So you can go ahead and be pissed off all you'd like but it isn't going to make a gnats pubic hair of difference.

  • Mentioned it on another thread. When Chuck Noll started with the Pittsburgh Steelers his record the first 3 years was: 1-13, 5-9, 6-8. Then he went on to coach the team to winning records the next 14 straight years.

I see some Chuck Noll in Mike Pettine. Kind of no nonsense, defense oriented guy.

Now.....if only Pettine can get the kind of draft picks for him that Noll got out of whomever was picking for the Steelers.

    Aye, that's the rub.

Oh boy... ( rolling my eyes )....you need to quit contemplating this situation during those 6 martini lunches. Watching Pettine speak to the media on the news last night....he clearly looks like a beaten man, to me. I'm still hopeful for Pettine, but somewhat realistic. Who could survive this situation?.....idiot GM...Manziel fiasco....lousy DC.....players quitting?

In his defense, these are the players he was given. In 3 years if we haven't signed/drafted some real d-o-double G's....than i'll take issue with Pettine's coaching philosophy.

  • @douche-nozzle said:

And for which team he does this after the Browns fire him is also the rub 🙂

Pettine will be a great coach somewhere, but maybe not here if some 'fans' have their way 🙁

  • some browns fans puzzle me. What do you think's gonna happen next year with a new coach/same players? Same shit. There is no upside to firing Pettine, the downside however is profound and if you're interested in having the Browns around for long time....have them here for your kids/grandkids whatnot.....you do not want to see another two and out coach. We just have to deal with it.

Look at the blowback we got from firing Chud after a year, it will 10x that if we fire Pettine now.

I though him and Farmer were "on the same page" acquiring players. If the team is loaded with garbage- well, he's partially responsible asking for it. Hey, I heard Dwayne Blowe might actually play this weekend. I love his attitude about his contract. "I earned it". Well Dwayne, you haven't even earned vet minimum yet based on your production.

You also probably don't fire your coach after a year.

And Noll went 1-13 his first season with a perrenial losing team....so he too had his difficulties. So, you never know.

I think you have been rubbing whatever you have a bit too much.
