  • Because no QB has ever sat for a year or two and turned out to be good, right?

  • Chris Lewis is a bitch.

  • It's obvious that those in charge don't think that he's ready, or more likely, will ever be ready........... Doesn't take a rocket scientist.

  • The Positive - Pettine and Farmer have dug their own grave and we'll soon move on from this funeral/disaster.

  • I remember Walter saying the same thing last year until we were blessed in the second game against cinncy. Then he was no where to be found. Imagine it's gonna be about the same this year

  • The Positive - Pettine and Farmer have dug their own grave and we'll soon move on from this funeral/disaster.

a new coach and gm will NEVER buy into John. So there is that

Hmmm....I think that guy Rodgers is pretty good right?

  • What's the fucking point?

If you spent a 1st round pick on a QB, shouldn't you find out what you have?

Another dumb move by a bad coach and even worse GM, I can't wait until they're fired

We all saw what we have....it was called a 30-0 ass kicking at home by the Bengals.

  • So are you Pro Johnny again Walter? You flip flop to much man....

Johnny won't even be a has been. He's gonna be a never was. We know what we have with him. A QB with nothing between his ears. I'd place a large sum that he won't even be in the league in two years.

Unless you want to start Austin Davis, give it a rest with this waste of season stuff.

McCown is signed through the next two seasons, he's got his ass beat and keeps coming back for more. The Browns have played some of the top defenses in the league and the offense is still effective. How many years has it been since we could actually say the Offense is a threat to score every time they get the ball. Not many. He can buy them time to find a QB. In the mean time, there are a lot of other guys on the team that need a QB that can control and Offense (the defense needs someone that can put LONG drives together with the way they play). The defense is a FAR bigger issue for this team...

  • Manziel is a year and a half into a four year year contract.

He's the backup this year. McCown is playing well and starts when healthy.

I don't understand this "see what you got" stuff ... the coaches see him everyday and they prefer him coming off the bench for now.

I only think we should "see what you got" when we get to 8-9 losses, no point in Josh playing at that point plus would probably get hurt and would throw away his chance at playing for us next year if we want him.

  • Decision will be made shortly before game time on Sunday. Walter and the rest of you Johnny fags can bitch and moan for 48 more hours.

We've done the "Two year- or one year- in the case of Chud, throw the bums out". It's turned out poorly. Bengal fans have wanted Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown run outta town for years. They've shut up lately. Winning shuts up all bitching.

They see these guys every day in practice, break down hours of film. We don't.

That's my feeling. If we lose the next three (Cards, Bengals, Squealers- a tough row to hoe)- no sense getting Josh beat up any further. The final 6 games is a big enough sample to see what we have in Manziel.

  • So I guess this article from the Cleveland Browns is probably wrong, then.

The Browns will wait until shortly before Sunday’s game against the Cardinals to decide whether Josh McCown or Johnny Manziel will start at quarterback.
McCown, Cleveland’s starter since he returned from a concussion Week 3, has been dealing with an injured throwing shoulder since last week’s game at St. Louis. The veteran quarterback completed 26-of-32 passes for 270 yards against the Rams but was unable to finish after taking a hard hit with a little more than 5 minutes to play.
McCown did not practice Wednesday but was able to throw later in the day. He worked with the team on a limited basis Thursday and Friday. Browns coach Mike Pettine said McCown took “less than his full share” of repetitions at Friday’s practice.
“It’s still truly day to day, we’ll see where he is tomorrow,” Pettine said. “Quarterbacks typically do some light throwing on Saturdays but the passing time is helpful with him but it’ll still likely go right up to the game.”
The three players Cleveland will definitely be without Sunday against the Cardinals are wide receiver Andrew Hawkins (concussion), safety Jordan Poyer (shoulder) and tight end Rob Housler (hamstring). Cornerback Joe Haden (concussion/finger) is probable while safety Tashaun Gipson (ankle) and linebacker Craig Robertson (ankle) are questionable.
On the season, McCown is 147-of-220 for 1,686 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He took a number of hard hits in Cleveland’s 24-6 loss to the Rams and has dealt with a handful of nicks and bruises since the preseason.
McCown hasn’t been fazed by them one bit.
“As soon as you can get it to where it is a pain tolerance thing, then in my mind, you have to be ready to go,” McCown said Wednesday. “That is how I see it.”
In relief of McCown this season, Manziel is 25-of-44 for 381 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He started in place of McCown in Week 2 against the Titans and led the Browns to a 28-14 victory.
Pettine said he trusts McCown to let him know if the pain is bearable or too much to overcome.
“If he says he can’t, then he can’t,” Pettine said. “If the game starts out and it’s just something that he feels he can’t perform his job then that’s why we have Johnny prepared, ready to go.”

    Absolutely... unless they tweet it.

If able to go Josh's starts Sunday and Thursday due to the short week.

Depending on how we do in those games you could see JM as soon as Week 10 vs. PTG.

Well....I guess it is really "WE want to see what he gots"....the Fans, not the coaches.

  • They just want to keep the Cardinals guessing about who is going to play......even if they know who is going to play.

This is the dumbest thread reply ever.

Johnny of this year and last are 2 totally different people

  • if you got fired after 2 years at your job as the head of quality control of packaging at the dick pickle house when you had never been a manager before you'd probably sue.

do you 'dig your grave' after a mason jar of dick pickles doesn't make it to the box instead lands on the factory floor while all you and the other faggots scramble to save the contents for home use?

  • I hope Haslam guarantees Pettine and Farmer another year. Allow them leeway to do what they need to with regard to quarterbacks and everything else.
