Went to two grade school veterans day assemblies...
really moving , kids sang beautifully, and so many veterans,
current, and all the way back to WWII.

Remembrance Day here in the uk. Unaware of any restaurants offering free meals like that here.
Great to see over there.

This was the first year I took Veterans' Day off & I am enjoying it.
Breakfast courtesy of Dennys.
Lunch courtesy of Texas Roadhouse.
Dinner tonight will be courtesy of TGD (ThanksGiving Dinner).
A lot of places going out of their way to serve us Vets today. THANK YOU to all of them. Your generosity is appreciated.

It was once called Armistice Day here. To recognize the end of WW1. The 11th hour, 11th day, 11th month. It has been changed to Veterans Day some years back and recognizes all who served in the military. Our Memorial Day in May would be very much like your Remembrance DayRemembrance Day here in the uk. Unaware of any restaurants offering free meals like that here.
Great to see over there.

I had an amazing opportunity today to roll call names of folks in NC who passed away during the Vietnam War. At one point I got to four people, presumably brothers, who all died in Vietnam all under the age of 25. I come from a lineage of military, but that put today into perspective yet again for me. That's the ultimate sacrifice and something we all are stronger for.

A big THANK YOU to those men & women who have served & are currently serving in the armed forces.
Freedom isn't free.
