Jonathan Paul Manziel

I would like to see some consistency from him before I'm giving him the reigns all next season But other than that shitshow on the first play, he played well with only a few questionable throws. I didn't like the 4th down pass across his body back to the middle of the field...looked too much like what we saw last season. But what I would like to see our coach do is name him the starter for the Rats game and give him the next 2 weeks to prepare and hopefully he plays as well as we saw today.
He did have a couple bad plays, but no QB is perfect. Im just trully impressed with what he can do right now and hes still developing. Seeing him start the next 6 games will be the only reason I watch the rest of the year. If Pettine goes back to McCown, I'm done with the Browns this year...

I agree.. I'm not looking for perfection. I"m looking for consistency. So hopefully next time out he will play more like today and less like the Cincinatti game.

I think Manziel just might be our guy...
All the haters have obviously made their minds up already, but if you watch him play he is steadily getting better...
Id say we go with Manziel, McCown, Davis next year and use the offseason to add some offensive playmakers and more talent on D
If our coach doesn't like it... Bye bye

Agreed the play was breaking down probably should have thrown a jump ball to one of our big receivers

Johnny played fine and I'd like to see more of him, but McCown still plays with infinitely more heart.

aw, thats so nice. but we are 31st in the league in rushing the ball and somewhere around last in defense...errrrr...me thinks that it doesn't matter who the qb is, we will be cellar dwellers until that changes...so ya'll can talk up all your qb bs all you want...

I've read all your strong opinions about Manziel and Ngata. Hoorta tried to tell you our defense was so piss poor you were wasting all your time blaming Johnny for everything and you weren't having any of it. You're going to deny this now? If you weren't once MarkNErin, I will say I had the wrong mark that lived in California but if you were - what's up with not owning your baggage?
You don't have to keep typing you hope you're wrong about Manziel when your actions keep showing you hope you're right about him. We're gonna get bullied into drafting another QB in round one when all conclusions were made before this QB even got to start #4 so what do we all need to pretend on your behalf today Mark? You never cornered yourself into 1 very strong opinion supported by a sum of just 3-4 NFL starts? How convenient all of a sudden.
You're full of shit. And seriously, you remember my opinions about a player that was drafted 9 fucking years ago? I think that's more than just a bit creepy but you're wrong. I had no opinion of him. Not one.
We all said the defense was horrible. My issue is with the Johnny fans who said we would be winning games if he was playing. How's that worked out the last 2 weeks. He looked shitty against Cincinatti and he while he played well today, we still got our asses kicked. So who fucking cares who plays QB. It doesn't fucking matter. Let him play...I hope he's a first fucking ballot Hall of Famer. I've said that from the very beginning.

Spare me the drama queen. When somebody continues to post the same thing every time he posts - it's not that tough to remember the guy posting from the screen name MarkNErin constantly announced Haloti Ngata was overrated as frequently as he's announced he thinks Manziel sucks. Was that any tougher than remembering Lumberg's childhood hero was Derek Anderson or what guys in here were in Camp Couch back in 98-99? Not really when we spends months debating potential draft picks on your door step.
Actually, Manziel played better vrs Cincy than Ben Rapen did. Ben threw 3 INTs when his team lost 16-10. Manziel led us to the same 10 points without the INTs but in the second half - there were alot of dropped passes that killed drives. How'd our defense do? Cincy is undefeated so they're a much better opponent than the Rams that held us without a TD in a 24-6 loss with the QB that allegedly gives us much better chances to win in his 1-6 tenure as starter here. Have we ever seen a more appreciated 1-6 QB than poor Josh McCown who'sstill not healthy enough to suit up 2-3 weeks after getting killed in the pocket Pettine wants all his QBs to stay?
So you think 9 years from now Hoorta won't remember who got in his face the most about Manziel? And now you're telling me you've been saying all along you hope Manziel makes the HOF? Let me know when you actually believe that before we discuss who's full of shit.

Benjamin, Gabriel or Hawkins? Could have been the non-existent Bowe I guess. Our undersized pygmies need pogo sticks.

One thing I can't put my finger on is the massive difference in Crow in the sense that he was averaging about 5.4 yard per carry after 8-9 weeks last year. Today, there was a play I saw where if he had the vision he had last year - he could have cut it outside to the right when the edge rusher already gave up contain in his upfield move and Crow just stayed inside for a 1 yard gain. He seems like a different player this year.
A lot of young guys I couldn't wait to see some growth from this year have actually regressed like Crow and Gabriel (whom doesn't look like he belongs on an NFL roster any more). The 1 second year player that looks most improved is the one guy Pettine seemed least pumped about staring - Manziel.
If Blake Bortles had the type of decisive victory we had over TN only to get benched for a journeyman Qb the next week - would people think that was great development of a QB or wonder why Blake was your Qb drafted in round 1?

Yea I know, I'm just saying McCown busted his nuts for us and I didn't see the scumbag Walter singing him any praises then.

Well...there's where you're wrong then. I've only had this screen name for as long as this board as been in existence. Joined September 2003 under this screen name. The one you're talking about was/is my aol screen name and those aol boards have been gone since long before 2003 or even 2005 when Ngata was drafted. So....no...there is no way that it was me posting anything about Ngata on this or any other message board. It's ok though..you're allowed to make mistakes.
I've said it repeatedly that I hope I'm wrong about Manziel. I'm a Browns fan...I don't root or hope against anyone who puts on our colors. I've rooted for them all...Frye, Couch, Anderson, Wynn, Gradkowski....the whole lot of shitty quarterbacks and god willing we will finally have one who can put an end to that fucking jersey with all the QB's names on it. I seriously thought he was going to fall apart today after that start but I was wrong, he rebounded and recovered quite well after that.
You can choose to rewrite history however you would like but that's where I stand. All I care about is the Browns winning games..nothing else matters to me.

Tom brady coughed up the ball twice today and threw a couple of real questionable interceptions. FUCK TOM BRADY. Not ready to give that guy the reigns.

Yeah he did. He played with heart. Unfortunately he's old and we have no future with him. I don't get the loyalty. He's a career backup. Let him back Manziel up.

First, we agree to disagree on where you stood with your pre-draft takes on Ngata that you repeated countless times whether it was on our first board at aol or here. It's never tough to remember who has strong opinions repeated many times over the months leading up to a draft. Nobody really cares but you and I know exactly what the truth is in this one so type what you have to.
As for your most recent strong opinions you suddenly don't want to own, Hoorta was the guy you were getting confrontational with so I'm not the one you owe an explanation to.

So we found out you began as MarkNErin but since I didn't know what year you changed to MarkO - that's your alibi you never once repeated Ngata was overrated? God bless ya!
Next, I don't give the first shit about what you need to pretend about where you've stood on Manziel. I'm just LMFAO knowing Hoorta will read your bullshit since he's the guy you got all confrontational with. That's where you need to send your guilty excuses, explanations and alibis. I lost interest in those about 3 replies ago from you but carry on...

Whatever dude......enjoy...
I've been Mark O on this board since day 1 September 13, 2003. 2 1/2 years before Ngata was drafted. You're wrong. I know that's obviously hard for you to admit...but you're wrong.

aw, thats so nice. but we are 31st in the league in rushing the ball and somewhere around last in defense...errrrr...me thinks that it doesn't matter who the qb is, we will be cellar dwellers until that changes...so ya'll can talk up all your qb bs all you want...
11 run plays called all game... Hmmm...
Duke ran it twice for 14 yards early, then he got 2 carries the next drive... Then nothing...
He's our closest thing to a 4-down back. He should get 15-20 carries a game. I know some people don't think he can do that, but I'd rather be proven wrong rather than not try giving our best RB more carries...
This year has been very confusing, as far as coaching is concerned...

I don't think being a Manziel doubter and hoping to hell he is a QB Jesus are mutually exclusive. From the day we drafted him I've disliked him. From the day we drafted him I've hoped he would be the greatest QB who ever took the field.
I don't have any reason to doubt you J. I thought Johnny was a brat at A&M but it was fun to watch him play football. Then our favorite team drafted him in round one. When a fan is defining the rest of his career by his first 2 starts as a 21 year old QB and he's repeatedly outspoken about it - there's an element of ignorance to that considering the improvements on and off the field here since. And when the same guy is suddenly disowning where he stood when I watched him jump all over another longtime fan just 2 weeks ago.

aw, thats so nice. but we are 31st in the league in rushing the ball and somewhere around last in defense...errrrr...me thinks that it doesn't matter who the qb is, we will be cellar dwellers until that changes...so ya'll can talk up all your qb bs all you want...
Yea I know, I'm just saying McCown busted his nuts for us and I didn't see the scumbag Walter singing him any praises then.

i totally agree, but we are not winning anything with the 32nd ranked defense and the 31st rushing offense...start focusing on those 2 stats i just provided. Yes i agree we need a qb also and better coaching than we have right now...

Last word from me on this... Here was my message that I sent to you 2 weeks ago. Tell me how what I said 2 weeks ago before his start against Cincinatti is any different that what I said after the game today...

And I'm fine with that should they decide to go with him. I don't think theres a chance he survives and I don't think he's very good. I certainly hope i'm wrong. It's better for the team for him to be a good QB and prove me and all the other doubters wrong.
Son of a bitch.....that looks a lot like what I posted after the game today isn't it?
