Anyone getting warmer on Bosa after last night?

  • I agree Bacon. Ragland is probably the best middle backer they've had, and that's saying something. With his lateral movement, they're able to easily play a dime defense against spread teams.

White DL by and large suck. Obviously not the case with Bosa, just saying.

If Bosa could suck as bad as that white stiff JJ Watt's his name, then I am all in.

Some other recent white stiffs quickly off the top of my head:

    Justin Smith

    Jared Allen

    Ryan Kerrigan

Paul Kruger -- he can play some DE regardless how the Browns are fucking up his and everybody else's season

    Kyle Williams

    Brett Kiesel

Jamie Meder -- kinda outplaying Shelton

All kidding aside, Bosa is a freakish, once in a generation talent. You can line him up anywhere on the line in any scheme and he will kick ass. He could also stand up if necessary, which is something the dumbass Browns coaching staff would probably do if they drafted him.

He is also durable and has a hardcore motor to go with a nasty, mean streak. The comparisons to Watt are extremely legit. Bosa has a crazy wingspan and athletic ability of a TE or hoops player.

The guy is a byyaadd dude, which means any naysayers don't need to worry about us drafting him. I could see the Pittsburglars pulling off some draft day shit to somehow land another Buckeye. They like Ohio players and Buckeyes, the Browns and their genius leadership STR like anything but.

  • Some words from other boards and top draftniks that Bosa is the top choice of the draft. Shit will be interesting...

  • I'm always glad to get Buckeyes but I hate to be blinded by homerism.

Would you care if Bosa had been playing for Michigan and tearing up OH St for the past 3 years? I wouldn't. I'd be like ok you made my Saturdays miserable now come here and personally make it up to me by making my Sunday vastly more enjoyable. No homerism here "at all" when it comes to Bosa.....or Elliot for that matter. The only homerism would be someone wanting to draft Barret or Jones with a high pick.

  • Bosa is great but dt does not change the game we should be getting gordon back but who knows there that said we need offence I really like Elliott from Osu due to his ability without the ball and if you could get him and cardell in the second that would be great I think. But one thing for sure Ray famer has to go

Holy shit, is that even English?

Bosa isn't a 1tech tackle/nose, first and foremost. Second, you'll be unlikely to find a Buckeye more dedicated than myself - but hell fucking no to Cardale in the 2nd.

I got off the "Fail for Cardale" Bandwagon long ago. The guy is still raw as hell, and should come back for at least another year.

Bosa and Elliott are lock first rounders. It's not that Zeke is just a good runner- he can catch passes, and pass protect with the best of them. He's going to pass Eddie George in career yards, and I think the comparisons are similar. I won't be upset if the Browns miss out on Bosa, and get Elliott as a consolation prize.

  • Homerism in this case would be fine considering how good the Buckeyes are right now?

    Not really, no.

We have drafted many players from teams that won consistently, Bama, Texas, Notre dame, etc. and none of those players have really worked out.

  • Elliott looks like he can have a Gurley-esque impact, which would really open up our offense. But Bosa is a transcendent talent that will be one of the best in the league (hopefully!). Easier to find an elite RB outside the first round than it is to find an elite pass rusher/run stuffer.

Bingo! Henry in the 2nd round. Bosa #1 if we can just get Mariotta to win some damn games. Find a decent WR in FA. Pay the man. And don't let Farmer find him please.

  • Not much to be had at the WR position this offseason unfortunately. A couple of names, but the most standout ones are Benjamin and Gordon (who's not actually a free agent).

If Gordon's not coming back, we need to look to the draft to get our big WR. Probably round 2.

Quite a conundrum since we also need a big back in round 2.

Correct, Josh's off the field antics is the real issue.

  • Gordon should be on track to apply for reinstatement shortly. We would have him unrestricted through 2016 and should be able to protect him from leaving (RFA) through 2017 at the least.

The return of Gordon would be huge for this team and it should happen. Benji has indicated he would like to stay so he should be a priority resign unless these clowns fuck that up too. Same goes for Barnidge.

Bosa could instantly transcend this defense regardless of what stiffs we have coaching or whatever hybrid scheme they run. Impact players are what you have to get when picking high in the draft, not nose guards like Fat Money Warren etc.

If Jonball shows he can play this last part of the season, we would be looking at an offense of him, Gordon, Benji, Barnidge, Duke and a draft pick at WR or RB. That ain't that bad. We need playmakers on defense, and Bosa could be that guy. Try to trade Haden while they are at it. That guy is costing us about 14 million a year cap hit through 2019.

  • I'm really coming around on Bosa. Even as a rookie, he could provide the type of presence that could open up things for Kruger. Bosa has the perfect size, and is much better in coverage than I would've thought. I was a little concerned regarding his four sacks (compared to his previous season of around 14), but after watching him double and even triple teamed, I understand why the drop off occurred...and the season isn't over.

If I had to guess, most of us are hoping beyond hope that Manziel displays enough talent and promise to be our undisputed QB of the future. Can you IMAGINE what that would be like? We've been burned more times than I'm going to mention with Gordon, but I firmly believe he's on track for reinstatement, and that would give us the weapon we so desperately need. How many plays have we had this year that resulted in good gains, but only 3 points? (or none, lol) Gordon is the kind of guy that can take some of those plays to the house. He could make things easier for the other wr's and te's. I definitely have visions of Johnny throwing to Gordon, and while it might seem like a long way off, it's the kind of hope I need to hang onto as a fan.

Johnny has the bye week, plus another week of practice as the entrenched starter. He'll get all of the reps, and this is the opportunity he's been waiting for. Johnny doesn't need to be amazing, but he does need to display improvement on a week to week basis. That's not to say he won't have bad games this year, all qb's do, but I'm hoping to heck he moves the ball, makes plays from the pocket, and sticks the ball in the damn end zone.

Good points. Bosa would provide that weapon we are missing that would immediately make everyone else better around him. That is what he has done at OSU. In all my years of watching football, I have never seen a guy get actually triple teamed as frequently as he has this season. That is why stats are not always the answer to the question or the total summation of a player's performance.

After Kruger's first year here, there were guys out in cyberspace talking about how he should be cut because he only had 4.5 sacks. What they failed to recognize was that he was like second in the league in QB pressures. Kruger is a good player being completely wasted by these morons this season, and a guy like Bosa would immediately transcend a guy like Kruger with the right coaching.

Sacks have never been my favorite stat. I think way too much emphasis is put on them in judging a player's impact and performance. Bosa is also dominant against the run, and his Wattlike TFLs prove that.

I hate talking draft this early but that is what this franchise does to us. IMO, he should be our clear cut target with the first pick. He would easily be the best DL guy since MDP but more complete and not gimp kneed. At this point I am willing to lose out for him, but with the hope that Jonball shows us he can play so we don't piss away a high pick on one of these shit QBs coming out. The QB position has not cost this team games this year, it has been the defense leading the list of sucking nuts. Impact players matter more than anything else.

Completely agree! QB pressure are so important. They can lead to interceptions, throw aways, and disrupt the offense. At first, I was completely nervous about Bosa's sack stats, but when you actually watch the guy play, those concerns vanish immediately. The first thing that popped into my head was "uh oh...didn't Mingo have around 4 sacks too?" But that's obviously comparing apples to oranges, as Mingo has the build of an olympic swimmer, and Bosa looks like a freaking tank.

What really hurts is watching our defense not be able to get consistent pressure on virtually any QB. Even many of the sacks we had against the Titans were a result of Mariota holding onto the ball too long, and other than that, we haven't had much success getting to the QB. We played Peyton Manning and Big Ben, both of which literally can't move, but we didn't rough either of them up. I think we maybe got to Ben a little, but it was negligible. Granted, he took most of his snaps from the shotgun, but still...he couldn't MOVE and we couldn't hit the guy! Making matters even worse is our inability to effectively blitz. It seems like when we blitz up the middle, our guys just get absorbed, and when we come from the sides, we don't get there. This is why I'm so big on Jalen Ramsey (besides the fact I'm an FSU alum, hehe). Ramsey is incredible against the run, and very effective getting to the QB.
