This is a pre-existing state law that they were unaware of until recently - which is why they started to enforce it.

Even the point that their senate/house are majority democrat is worthless. This is an old law that predates them and they're the ones working on a solution.

Not sure, but they said its something that was pre-existing and the only reason they never enforced it is because nobody knew about it. Assuming it's pretty old.
