Anyone getting warmer on Bosa after last night?

I'm really coming around on Bosa. Even as a rookie, he could provide the type of presence that could open up things for Kruger. Bosa has the perfect size, and is much better in coverage than I would've thought. I was a little concerned regarding his four sacks (compared to his previous season of around 14), but after watching him double and even triple teamed, I understand why the drop off occurred...and the season isn't over.
If I had to guess, most of us are hoping beyond hope that Manziel displays enough talent and promise to be our undisputed QB of the future. Can you IMAGINE what that would be like? We've been burned more times than I'm going to mention with Gordon, but I firmly believe he's on track for reinstatement, and that would give us the weapon we so desperately need. How many plays have we had this year that resulted in good gains, but only 3 points? (or none, lol) Gordon is the kind of guy that can take some of those plays to the house. He could make things easier for the other wr's and te's. I definitely have visions of Johnny throwing to Gordon, and while it might seem like a long way off, it's the kind of hope I need to hang onto as a fan.
Johnny has the bye week, plus another week of practice as the entrenched starter. He'll get all of the reps, and this is the opportunity he's been waiting for. Johnny doesn't need to be amazing, but he does need to display improvement on a week to week basis. That's not to say he won't have bad games this year, all qb's do, but I'm hoping to heck he moves the ball, makes plays from the pocket, and sticks the ball in the damn end zone.

Good points. Bosa would provide that weapon we are missing that would immediately make everyone else better around him. That is what he has done at OSU. In all my years of watching football, I have never seen a guy get actually triple teamed as frequently as he has this season. That is why stats are not always the answer to the question or the total summation of a player's performance.
After Kruger's first year here, there were guys out in cyberspace talking about how he should be cut because he only had 4.5 sacks. What they failed to recognize was that he was like second in the league in QB pressures. Kruger is a good player being completely wasted by these morons this season, and a guy like Bosa would immediately transcend a guy like Kruger with the right coaching.
Sacks have never been my favorite stat. I think way too much emphasis is put on them in judging a player's impact and performance. Bosa is also dominant against the run, and his Wattlike TFLs prove that.
I hate talking draft this early but that is what this franchise does to us. IMO, he should be our clear cut target with the first pick. He would easily be the best DL guy since MDP but more complete and not gimp kneed. At this point I am willing to lose out for him, but with the hope that Jonball shows us he can play so we don't piss away a high pick on one of these shit QBs coming out. The QB position has not cost this team games this year, it has been the defense leading the list of sucking nuts. Impact players matter more than anything else.

Completely agree! QB pressure are so important. They can lead to interceptions, throw aways, and disrupt the offense. At first, I was completely nervous about Bosa's sack stats, but when you actually watch the guy play, those concerns vanish immediately. The first thing that popped into my head was "uh oh...didn't Mingo have around 4 sacks too?" But that's obviously comparing apples to oranges, as Mingo has the build of an olympic swimmer, and Bosa looks like a freaking tank.
What really hurts is watching our defense not be able to get consistent pressure on virtually any QB. Even many of the sacks we had against the Titans were a result of Mariota holding onto the ball too long, and other than that, we haven't had much success getting to the QB. We played Peyton Manning and Big Ben, both of which literally can't move, but we didn't rough either of them up. I think we maybe got to Ben a little, but it was negligible. Granted, he took most of his snaps from the shotgun, but still...he couldn't MOVE and we couldn't hit the guy! Making matters even worse is our inability to effectively blitz. It seems like when we blitz up the middle, our guys just get absorbed, and when we come from the sides, we don't get there. This is why I'm so big on Jalen Ramsey (besides the fact I'm an FSU alum, hehe). Ramsey is incredible against the run, and very effective getting to the QB.

Up until his recent stretch, Henry is someone I would avoid. I haven't watched much in the way of coaches tape, but from memory he is a big back with straight line speed and power. I recall him dancing too much in previous seasons and trying to be the opposite of what he is - a one cut runner.
I guess I have my work cut out for me this weekend.

Not a dancer now. He is N-S all the way with the occasional runover of whomever tries to stop him. If he can make them arm tackle he will, otherwise it's power through them. Yeldon was more the dancer.

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio State junior defensive end Joey Bosa was today named one of four finalists for the 46th Lombardi Award. This is the second consecutive year that Bosa has been named a finalist, and he joins a select group of four previous Buckeyes who have been named a finalist twice: linebacker Chris Spielman (1986-87), offensive tackle Orlando Pace (1995-96), linebacker Andy Katzenmoyer (1997-98) and linebacker James Laurinaitis (2007-08).
Bosa, who has more career tackles for loss than any current collegian (49.5) and the second-most quarterback sacks (25), is vying to win the Lombardi Award on the 10th anniversary of Ohio States last winner: A.J. Hawk in 2005.
The three other finalists for the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award are also defensive ends: Texas A&Ms Myles Garrett; Clemsons Shaq Lawson and Penn States Carl Nassib. The 2015 honoree will be announced at the Rotary Lombardi Award presentation on December 9, 2015, at the Revention Music Center in downtown Houston, Texas. This years Rotary Lombardi Award ceremony will be broadcast by FOX Sports Southwest.
Bosa, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has been dominant and disruptive this year as the leader of an Ohio State defense that ranks second nationally in scoring defense, ninth nationally in total defense and with Top 10 rankings in both passing yards allowed and passing efficiency. Bosa has 40 tackles, including 15.0 tackles for losses totaling 54 yards plus 4.0 sacks. He also has 11 quarterback hurries and four pass breakups.
A communications major, Bosa is also a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award and he is on the midseason watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award. He was a unanimous All-American in 2014 when he was named the Big Tens defensive player of the year and its defensive lineman of the year.
Bosas finalist honor represents the 16th time that Ohio State has had a Lombardi Award finalist. Ohio State has produced a Lombardi Award winner six times.

His career stats are phenomenal and he is still technically only a junior. He also missed the Virginia Tech game for being a numbnut. Slim chance he comes back but his little bro is on the way. Spielman noted during the game this past week that Bosa has been dominant but does not have the sacks to show for it. Tons of pressures and penetrations.

Top NFL draft prospects almost always cite family considerations as the overwhelming factor in deciding whether to enter the draft as underclassmen. But in Joey Bosa's case, those considerations are decidedly different than most.
"The only possible thing that would keep me here is playing with [my brother] Nick. ...We'll see when the time comes," Bosa said on Monday, per Tim Shoemaker of the Ohio State-centric website Eleven Warriors.Ohio State's star defensive end, a junior and one of the nation's elite prospects, said that he has all but decided to apply for entry into the 2016 NFL Draft as an underclassman, save one reason to stay.
Nick Bosa is a five-star recruit from Florida high school football powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas, where Joey Bosa played as well, and has committed to the Buckeyes. Nick Bosa plays the same position as his brother (defensive end) and despite a knee injury that has ended his senior season at Aquinas, he's set to sign with the Buckeyes in February.
The older Bosa has been one of the top players in college football since his freshman year in 2013, when he recorded 13.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He's drawn high praise from NFL scouts this season, despite having just four sacks.
If playing with his brother is the only thing that could compel Bosa to stay at OSU, it's fair to assume Bosa has no misgivings about whether he is ready for the challenges of a pro career, and there's no denying his talent. Bosa has until a Jan. 18 deadline to apply for early NFL draft entry, about two weeks before Nick will sign a letter-of-intent to play for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State Overview: Joey Bosa enters his junior campaign highly regarded, one of the best players in the country and a contender for all of the major awards in 2015 after being a finalist for three last year ... physically imposing and exceptionally talented, Bosa is the 27th unanimous All-American in school history as all five of the major All-American teams -- Associated Press, the Walter Camp Football Foundation, the American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association of America and The Sporting News -- named him to their first team in 2014 ... he was also named the Big Ten Conference's defensive player of the year and its defensive lineman of the year to join Buckeye greats John Simon (2012), Will Smith (2003) and Dan Wilkinson (1993) as OSU defensive linemen to earn both awards in the same season ... Bosa is a 25-game starter who is already 14th at Ohio State in career tackles-for-loss (34.5), ninth in TFL yards (187), seventh in quarterback sacks (21.0) and sixth in QB sack yards (154) ... has 99 career tackles, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, both for touchdowns (vs. Northwestern in 2013 and vs. Wisconsin in 2014) ... his FFs and FRs have led to 44 Ohio State points the past two seasons ... earned OSU Scholar-Athlete status after his freshman campaign ... is majoring in communications.

disagree that Bosa would make Kruger better. How would the presence of a higher skilled pass rusher improve Krugers limited pass rushing repertoire? And i'm being kind when i say "limited". Kruger is one of the guys i don't want to see in a Browns uni next year. If he is here, he's depth that's all. And when he does come in it should be strict instructions to just bullrush. Our starting DE"s next year, god willing, should be Bosa and Monty...with Desmond sliding around from DT to DE to spell the starters. I'd bring back Dylan Wynn too. So our DE depth would be Orchard and Wynn...with Orchard being they hybrid guy we can play at the Jack on 3-4 looks.

Desmond and Cooper would be your starters at the 3 spot. Sheldon, Hughes at the 1 with Meder and Wynn rotating between the two.
Then you have Kruger, Bosa, Monty, Bloodbath as your end/5 looks. That would allow Orchard and Mingo to man the WLB and SLB while contributing on 3rd downs, obvious passing situations and the 5th/6th man on pressures packages.

How are they going to be picking 15-16?
They will be lucky to win 2 more games
2-14 or 3-13 are way more realistic records, then a 5-11 or 6-10 record that will be picking 15-18

I don't see this team losing again.
Not about where you pick anyway, but how you pick.
We pick top ten every year, usually with two first round picks, and Pittsburgh, Baltimore and New England pick in the 20s every year, so tell me how important drafting high is.

Not sure Flacco is so great.
No way this Browns team ends up worse than 7-9.
Then just draft BPA.

You still want Kruger and Soloman on the team next year? why? I want those guys dropped and the scheme changed. Even if the scheme stays i want those guys out.

I'm sorry what now? You do know that the Browns continue to play NFL teams the rest of the way right? It's not like they're getting to the MAC part of the schedule....have yous seen who we play the rest of the season? Bengals again, Seattle, KC...Pgh again. We might be able to beat the 9'ers, that's it. Monday is our last winnable game till Dec 13th.

Never said I did, merely giving examples of a lineup including our current personnel.

You do realize that Billy Winn has played for the Indianapolis Colts this year (or are you referring to practice squadder Dylan Wynn) and that our draft pick's name is Shelton, right? Do you also understand that when you start using the little 1, 3 and 5 tech stuff in your lexicon that it really means dick? It means dick as much as scheme any more. Got news for you book certificate or box of Cap'n Crunch title holders of football knowledge, schemes are almost all hybrid anymore. Guys line up anywhere on the line, which is why we have seen Des Bryant, an absolute 43 five tech or 34 3 tech when we signed him, line up over the nose a bazillion times since he has been here along with everywhere else.
Bosa would play anywhere they put him and kick ass. Hopefully, he won't jump offsides like a Retard moron that he impersonated last night.

Are you the kid that was talking about how Bosa was pulling a Clowney and fucking off all year so he didn't get hurt?
You can pretend that Paul Kruger and whoever else turned into suckage on their own and that it has nothing to do with this Pennsylvania high school mafia of coaches all you want, but the facts are Tiamatti or whatever the fuck his name is could coach this team better.
