How much will the fans stand for?

Okay how much worse would it be had we kept Brady? How many less superbowls would we have won?
How much worse do you suppose the record would be?

I am not there in Cleveland, so I can not hear or see what is being said on a daily basis on local media. But being a fan from a past generation,(1980's), will the fans make a statement and stop purchasing tickets, and stop going to the games , and buying expensive jerseys and merchandise. Why not prove to this team that your dedication and devotion to the team is heart felt, but until this team can put together winning seasons, there will be no tickets purchased, and no merchandise is being bought. Its the only way this team ownership, & partners will put a winning team on the field. The fans need to make a financial statement, and stop hoping for something in a dream. I did. I cheer for the Browns, but I no longer buy items because I don't get the same in return. Maybe the ticket holders should making a real financial judgement for next season. Just think about how much money is being just given to the Browns and all their NFL shop .

Can't speak for anybody else here, but as a season ticket holder I left the game yesterday with 12 minutes to go. I think that's about the 3rd time I've ever left a game early (since 1978), and yeah, I'm really dejected about this team.
I'm seriously pondering dropping my season tickets. I have great seats, front row of 536. I won't make that decision until my emotions calm down. Yesterday, there might have been 45,000 in attendance, and I swear at least 1/3 were Bengal fans. It's going to be much, much worse for the Steeler game, so I'm already going to off those tickets.
As far as the fan base and media dictating the front office/coaching moves, I don't buy it. I think we've just been plain stupid in the front office with personnel and coaching moves. Who would have thought that Holmgren, for instance, would be a total disaster? I do buy in that the media drives the fan base to certain "opinions," like all the stupid ass "Johnny Johnny Johnny" when the true leader McCown is laying on the field with an injury. Reminded me of when the fans cheered when Couch went down, it's embarrassing.

That depends. The fans have already stopped going to games. Bengal fans scooped up bargain priced tickets in droves on StubHub and other ticket venues. You could get virtually any seat in the stadium at less than face value, including Club Seats, and the el primo in between the 30s lower deck. FWIW, I would rather burn my tickets than sell them to a fan of another team. Take it from me, Section 111 is totally sold out with season tickets- but I see plenty of fans from other teams sitting around me.
Now on a personal level, my season ticket seniority goes back 26 years. (I just found the paperwork for my initial PSL buried in my desk). So should I trash my current seating (20 yard line) just to make a statement? It would save me around $2,000 a year to do so. Nope, and here's why. If I wanted to sit out until the Browns started playing respectably, it would cost me (at least) $20,000 to buy back in. LOL, I hope the Browns can start playing better in less than 10 years. And it's a family thing for the next generation- those primo seats get handed down in wills.
I think the point was made with revenue sharing (the Cowboys are the only team that gets to keep all their merchandise $$$), and TV revenue (the big cash cow) it doesn't really matter if the fans "make a statement". Jimmy knows the fans are pissed- in fact he's pretty pissed himself.
& Lord knows, we don't want to be in a situation like San Diego or Oakland- where non-support is probably going to cost them their teams.
It's all about the progress. Fans would tolerate losing if there were tangible evidence of progress and a coaching staff/FO that seemed competent and in tune with one another. Those things have been absent from this organization this year.
^+1 this is it in a nutshell. All I hoped for was to see some progress this year, or even status quo. We got serious regression in every phase of the game. The last Bengals game was a low point- the Queen City Kitties just about treated that game as a controlled scrimmage, we were so totally outclassed.

Grew up in Cleveland. I've been watching since the early 60's. I have never seen a worse situation than the one they are in now. It starts at the top with Haslam.
Here is a paragraph from Bleacher Report
The Browns have failed to groom young talent under Farmer. That hurts the future. Hurting the present is Pettine and his inability to make the most of the talent Cleveland does have.
According to a preseason report published by Sports Illustrated, Cleveland came into the year spending more on defense ($82.1 million this season) than any other team. That defense is currently ranked 30th in yards allowed (398.8 per game) and 31st in points allowed (28.9 per game).

Watch the opening MNF montage tonite. Note that in the Cowboys plays (there are a couple) the 'Boys uni's are muted out. The only ones muted out.
Shows the control Jerrah gained over his "brand" when he sued the league in his early days as owner.

Worst to first teams recently:
2014: Texans are in that conversation, and have gone from top pick to leading their (weak) division, not because of Jadevion Clowney, but the overall team.
2013: Chiefs were top pick in 2013, and went from 2-14 to 10-6 or whatever it was - in spite of their 'franchise' LT, Eric Fisher, being the biggest bust in a long time.
2012: Colts went from 2-14 to 11-5 by drafting Andrew Luck - but this team was only 2-14 because they had no QB, Peyton Manning got injured and they 'lucked' in to the best QB to declare in a generation.
2000 Patriots: 5-11 2001 Patriots.....Won the Super Bowl...Belichick and Brady came in together
1998 Rams: 4-12, 1999 Rams....Won the Super Bowl. Warner and Vermeil.
With the right coach and QB, the Browns would only take 2 years. 1984 Browns: 5-11. 1986 Browns: Should have gone to the Super Bowl.
We just need a Marty and a Bernie.

Again, just to affirm my comment what we're talking about (worst to first) teams literally happened 11 years in a row from '02-'13. There's a shit ton of precedent for it.

The Browns are like a high school relationship, you say you're done every week but you always keep coming back
-
They're in my DNA, I've lived outside Tampa for 15 years and never even considered rooting for another team. I'm too hard core and my family is too.
We had season tickets for 20 years and it was the best feeling to take the rapid downtown with your friends. I pray something good happens but then reality sinks in. Maybe qualified General Managers and coached don't want to risk their careers by committing to Cleveland. Could be.

Panthers went 1-15 in 2003. 7-9 in 2004. 11-5 and Super Bowl runner-ups in 2005. That's what real progress looks like.

We get that....it is hard....but when you are the WORST team, then its a bigger job than most.....and probably takes longer.....make sense?
Just because we've been waiting forever, doesnt mean some new guys can just show up and make it better over night....thats not reality...more like just wishful thinking and unrealistic expectations...
It would, except worst to first scenario literally occurred 11 years in a row: http://thebiglead.com/2013/08/14/nfl-worst-to-first-streak-at-10-years-who-will-it-be-in-2013/. That's pretty indicative of a norm wouldn't you say? (including chiefs)
We have a foundation for this team, and I would absolutely disagree that we are totally devoid of talent. The people who run the show blow and it's becoming more and more clear to me every week. I hate blowing up the team like anyone else but these guys have to go. With a right fit in the draft we could easily turn this ship around in a hurry.
It would, except worst to first scenario literally occurred 11 years in a row: That's pretty indicative of a norm wouldn't you say?
Well...considering there are 8 last place teams every year...which would be 88 last place teams over 11 years......
and how many of the 88 did you say did it?.....11 or 12......because Id think the "norm" is what happens the most.....
and how many of those went from 4-12 to first?....cause a lot of them already had better records and were in worse divisions...
Sorry.....its not the norm....its the exception.....
And if your expectation is for someone to come in here and turn this around in a year or two.....yer gonna be awfully disappointed(again)...(and again).....(and again)....
