3% of all of PP's services performed are abortions.

Abortions are already not funded by the government. The person seeking the abortion has to pay out of pocket (or maybe through a private insurance if it covers it not sure if they do, but any government subsidized insurance will not cover it).

    PP Services Performed 2013-2014

    Planned-Parenthood-Services.png

It's about 12%, give or take. At least, about 12% of patients have an abortion

Right, 12% of total patients served in a year. The 3% is counting services performed which could be the same patient getting 3 different things done.

Still a small number, and they aren't federally funded for abortions anyway.

I've known a lot of people who have depended on PP for free STD tests and the like - so cutting out all the funding for it could be risky business.

Not if everyone is abstinent. That's the only sex education you need.

  • Media Hides Fact: Planned Parenthood Does 40% of Abortions

The fact of the matter is that 51 percent of Planned Parenthood’s yearly clinic income – their only self-sustaining revenue source – comes from abortion, 329,445 abortions.

40 percent of all reported abortions committed in the United States occur at a Planned Parenthood clinic, making it by far the largest abortion provider in America. (Editor’s note: When using the national abortion numbers from the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood does 27.5 percent of all abortions in the United States,)

Planned Parenthood’s claim that only 3 percent of its business is abortion is no different than if a car dealership claimed that it wasn’t really in the business of selling cars because the number of new car sales was only a fraction of its total services provided (financing cars, repairing cars, providing manufacture recommended maintenance for cars, cleaning car, and so forth). Of course no one would believe such an outrageous claim. Sure, a car dealership does all of those things, but its purpose is to sell cars.

The abortion industry is no different. The abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, is about committing abortion. Sure they provide some other services, but when your only self-sustaining revenue source is one thing and you are responsible for 40 percent of that one thing in the entire nation, that is what you are about. Planned Parenthood is about abortion.

  • That does not change the fact.

12% of people that go to a PP clinic and receive services, get an abortion.

Planned Parenthood is just a bigger national entity that's easily accessible and can be found pretty much everywhere.

  • Does it matter that PP is doing 27.5% of national abortions? Is it competition you're worried about, that they might have a monopoly on the market and that stops up and coming, aspiring abortioners from ever making it to the big leagues?

  • “Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps!” Mr. Graham continued. “That should’ve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding.”

Then be prepared to deal with the consequences in a mature manner. Why are libdiots allergic to personal responsibility?

  • That is a salient point. There really should be a return of responsibility but defunding planned parenthood isn't going to achieve that

I think getting regular STD tests, contraception, and annual health screenings are things a responsible person would do.

That's 90%+ of what planned parenthood provides.

  • again, feelings

    not facts. not reality.

  • 12%? Well great. That's kind of like Jerry Sandusky saying that of the last dozen times he's ejaculated only once was in the butthole of a young boy.

    (sorry )

  • If they don't get the abortion at planned parenthood, they're going to go somewhere else.

It's not like getting rid of planned parenthood is going to stop people from getting them.

That's true but that's not the point. The point is is the government somehow promised not to force people who feel that abortion is murder to pay for it with their tax dollars.

And yes blah blah blah war prisons executions etc

But the United States government made no such promise about those things.

So that's the agreement what do you believe it's a human life or a wart.

  • But they aren't

  • Of the last 8 times, to be fair.

  • Anyway, the market share of abortions and or the percentage of the overall services is irrelevant really.

Some amount of abortions are happening each year whether it's mom and pops abortions or abortionbucks on every corner.

  • But tax dollars don't pay for abortions. On federal level or state level or any level

People cannot use their Medicare or Medicaid for an abortion.

So federal support for Planned Parenthood comes from the DNC? Or out of Obama's pocket? Or Hillary's super PAC?

I didn't know that, thanks for the clarification.

Also paying for abortions through Medicare is just fucking creepy...

Planned parenthood does not use any federal money for abortions , nor does any other abortion clinic.

The government funds the other facets, which account for 90% of its services or more - such as STD tests (which they usually offer for free), contraception (which also free usually)

If a pregnant woman goes into a planned parenthood clinic for an abortion she'll be paying the full cost out of pocket. Something like $1500-2000 or so.

    See the Hyde amendment.

The ONLY exception is in case of rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is in jeopardy.

  • Heh.

I Drive a Subaru Outback, premium package, and part of that premium package is a dual zone heating and cooling system. I can set the left hand side to 68 and the right hand side to 72.

I suspect the heat for both sides of the car comes from the same place. What do you think?
