  • Hit the reset every two years. All the teams that continuously make the playoffs do that ?

  • Tacosman is a fucking moron.

Who needs Black Monday when we have Sunken Sunday - on and off the field.

  • Groundhog Day - hopefully this time we get the right guys, and by the law of averages, even we can't always pick the wrong guys every time...... Sooner or later we'll screw up and pick the right guys.

  • They are both gone.

You can't fire Farmer without blowing up yhe whole football organization and you have to fire Farmer ... don't you?

    Z

  • Football President of operations will be Gruden. GM Tilton and coach Jackson. Book it Danno

  • Haslam should include in his last words an apology for sticking him with Manziel.

  • Pettine and the coaches are gone. The new regime should go back to the 4-3 defense and start letting players develop instead of letting them walk.

The new regime better draft impact players- not projects! If Farmer stays I will tweet him every time Khalil Mack gets another sack he has 15 thru 15 games!

Draft Joey Bosa, Zeke Elliot and two wide receivers! Then draft Cardale Jones. I also heard it "through the Grapevine" that Peyton Manning will be coming along with Gase. So let Manning be a role model for Jones!

Whoever they hire must have vision for the present as well as the future. Pettine had tunnel vision and was a stubborn ass!

  • The Browns plan to move on from general manager Ray Farmer and head coach Mike Pettine after Sunday’s season finale, a Cleveland.com report Saturday said.

The report by Mary Kay Cabot quoted sources as saying team owner Jimmy Haslam is inclined to “blow things up” and has already begun seeking out replacements. Though this is the first sourced report of such moves happening — Cabot wrote that interviews with potential replacements could begin as soon as Sunday night — neither move would be a surprise.

The Browns went 7-9 last year in Pettine’s first season but lost their final five games. They’re 3-12 headed into Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers and have won once since October.

  • Doesn't this annual ritual give you a headache? Mary Kay also said that Adam Gase and Peyton Manning might be coming to town.

I can't see Manning a Brown. Not after his stellar career. Can you imagine a forty year old quarterback wanting to start anew with another team? I can't! Unless Mary Kay means as a coach or something. How about Manning as " Football Guru" in charge of moral and confident to Haslam!

    Time will tell

  • Is this the 2016 Prediction Thread?

I predict Jim Brown will be our new GM. JIM BROWN will hire Doug Marrone as HC, Jim Shwartz as defensive coordinator, Peyton Manning as Offensive Coorinator

I want Greg Schiano but he went to Ohio State

The more I think, the more I want to keep Pettine. Not sure why, just a feeling.

It's a good feeling, Chris... go with it.

    Agreed.....

Its exhausting just thinking of the alternative. I might even have to go back on sabitical, if they start over.....again.....

Well Mud- it looks like a blowout against the Steelers (likely) is going to result in a blowup. 🙁

    Ya'll are tripping.

Whatever brotha. The buck has to stop somewhere.

    Who's next? Pettine 2.0

This team still plays their balls off despite sucking. The offense has exceeded expectations. Johnny has developed significantly compared to last year.

Sorry but you'll have another year of Pettine.

    Hahahahahahhahaha

  • Pettine is here to stay.

    Get used to it.

How many misguided posters didn't see this coming?

  • Well as fast as this is moving sounds like the Elliott Wolfe plan is on? Got a coaches Tree? Holmgren & Shurmer our out? Does Wolfe bring his guy or is the dreaded coaching search on? Tom Clements of ND fame anyone?

  • I think there's going to be that one coach that gets fired that most didn't see coming.

    Jeff Fisher gets fired.

    Tom Coughlin?

    Jim Caldwell?

  • @SI_PeterKing

Every 10 minutes Haslam preaches continuity.

Every 20 minutes he fires the building.

    @RossTuckerNFL

Bad enough Haslam has no clue as owner. Now shows he has no class leaking he's firing HC/GM before last game. Browns fans deserve better.

  • From Ian Rapoport

Names expected to interview for #Browns in the coming days: Teryl Austin & Adam Gase. Doug Marrone likely, as well.

I wonder how many of these guys are going to say "thanks...but no thanks" again?

  • I would like to think that Haslam already has the replacements in line for hc and gm. If he fires these guys, then starts a search, we're doomed again. They may as well go straight to their last choice. And wow! a team picked by 5 different staffs. Hmmmmmm, sounds like a plan.

Wolf is promising, wouldn't have been promoted by the Packers if that wasn't the case. Expect an out clause in the contract though, he's going to head back to GB once Thompson retires in 2018 if he does well.

Why would he do that if he was really having success here? The tradition of the Browns is nearly as great as the traditions of the Packers.....plus....it is Green Bay. Nice small town. Nothing against it. Like it very much.

But there is no reason to go back there if you are really hitting home runs in Cleveland....which has about an equal rabid fan base.

Because Green Bay is where his father built a legacy as a hall of famer? Wolf has strong ties to Green Bay, since he's worked there his entire career and he knowns he's next in line for the job. Maybe he doesn't care about any of that, but I'd expect him to have an out clause like Schneider does with the Seahawks.
