With the Second Pick in the 2016 NFL Draft
-
I'm disappointed that despite such a bad year we don't even get to own the #1 pick. We could have sold it off for a fortune. I guess #2 and #32 won't be too bad either. Gotta get the right guys. I'll start to scout soon.
Remember:
#1 WR- Josh Gordon
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu
Terrel Pryor
Travis Benjamin
Joe Haden
Gary Barnidge
We'll have a good nucleus, just gotta add a few touches here and there.
I hope we get Gruden. He should be on the phone with Haslam tonight. That Monday Night game a couple weeks back, he seemed all about it. Let's see if Gruden chickens out or will step up and be the man.

Coming back to this...
After watching some stuff, I like Jared Goff at #2. The guy has franchise QB potential written all over him.
Good work ethic, has committed to bulking up and such.
The way he moves in the pocket is very impressive, great footwork, he moves his body and his eyes while going through progressions, throws a good ball, stands in and correctly senses pressure.
Watching him compared to Johnny Manziel is pretty refreshing - who is literally bad at basically everything.
I know we need to fill a lot of holes - and Bosa would be huge for our horrendous pass rush, but answering the franchise QB question now probably wouldn't be a bad thing.

Goff= Blaine Gabbert.

I'm as skeptical as anyone using a high pick on another QB but on this I disagree. He has the mechanics, release, decision making. He's a bit of a risk taker but nothing too bad

I'm a Mizzou fan and I hated Gabbert as a prospect...Goff is in a totally different league then Gabbert and deserves to go top 5

OK: Goff= Joey Harrington. There's your top 5 guy.

Who is the BPA @ #2 overall? If it's not a QB then take him anyway. Getting QB's out of order has never worked for the Browns so dammit, take the best player. Sign a free agent or go with McCown/Shaw. BTW Denver's now second string QB will be a free agent. Buy him out! His name is no longer Manning.

Starting to get there as well... and I see reads...
An impact player on D is a need, but a franchise QB is a must. And Goff is looking a lot like a franchise QB with upside.

Gabbert was technically sound and such - but he came out of a spread system and they doubted his ability to grasp an NFL playbook and read the field coming out of a simple spread offense. I think he had some other minor issues too.
Goff doesn't really have those problems, and he's often moving onto his 3rd or 4th read even under pressure - and usually making a good decision.
