  • Lynch is more like a kaepernick.

Jones can't even sniff Goff's ass if you're comparing prospects.

All Goff really needs to do is get bigger - which he has been doing since his freshman year (+20 pounds or so). It'd be interesting to see his combine weight.

It won't be drastically different. He's put on 30 pounds since he started at Cal, he can't add much more to his frame.

Not that it matters. But he'll always be a thin mint. A Roethlisberger, he is not.

Yea, he doesn't really need to be the rapist the way he moves in the pocket anyway.

At least the 30lb gain shows he was committed to getting bigger and better.

Say what you want about his off field antics, but Ben Roethlisberger size and elusiveness combination is perfect for an NFL QB.

You can be absolutely perfect at moving in the pocket, but people will get your hands on you. It's just the nature of the NFL.

It is, and he's been a successful QB.

Goff is a different category, but he doesn't have any issues with hits or escaping pressure. He takes some good lickings but he always seems to get the ball out unphased before the pressure gets him.

I'm still firmly of the opinion he's our guy

No, I say KEEP him. Worried about how he makes us look bad? We have never looked nothing but bad since we came back, and we swap coaches every other year, That makes us look bad, we change QB's 3 times a year, that makes us look bad, Give me a fucking break, ya TRADE TRADE TRADE , tell me how that would fucking fix ANYTHING?

Trading Manziel is the logical solution for people have been "against him" since draft day. (personal egotistical reasons) -- While he's an idiot off the field, he has proved he's not a bust on it.

Claiming proof of on-field prowess is the last gasp for JM-backers whose every prediction to date has been wrong.

I guess maybe it was OK to be concerned after all.

    Maybe... lol...

or just the right move dimwit.

nothing against johhny or his fans on here but if was anyone else we'd be burning a life-sizes doll of him in efigy at a tailgate.

THAT dumpster fire will be put out in cleveland but may get rekindled in a fuggin bum-fuck city like dallas.

    how's the weather there?

If your going to take someone who needs to sit and learn why not take Cardale Jones in the 2nd round. Jones is a beast 6'5" 250. He has a cannon for an arm and is more accurate than Goff and Lynch.

... a guy like Lynch. He's terrible. His start of the season was great considering the level of competition. He was horrible against a bad Auburn team. He's a project that shouldn't be drafted until the third round.

NFW Jones is "more accurate" than Goff... I will concede that he is bigger.

Goff's probability of success at the NFL level looks to be the highest in this QB class. His margin over the second rated QB and the perceived depth of the QB class along with the number of high-impact potential players at other positions will all factor into where he is taken.

Right now that looks to be setting him up to go very, very high, i.e., top two.

And sooner or later folks will quit knee-jerking over Lynch's Auburn showing. Yes, it was bad. No, it did not help make a case for him. But that one game does not drop his probability of NFL success below Cardale's... miracle run or not.

I didn't care for Lynch before the Auburn game and that was with watching him beat Ole Miss. Too slow to get the ball out of his hands (long windup) and rarely went through a progression even in the win.

So who else needs a QB? Can we safely trade down a bit if we are determined to get a QB?

And just for the record I'd still rather have a D player first.

In the top 10, possibly the 49ers depending on who they hire and whether the guy wants Kaepernick or not. No way the Cowboys trade up for a QB.

Outside the top 10 there's the Bears, Saints, Eagles and Rams at 11,12,13 and 15 who could be in the market for a QB.

You'd pretty much have to trade back but stay in the top 10 and hope one of the two between Dallas and San Francisco doesn't draft a QB.

If you want to choose your QB, then you can't go further than #3. Give the Chargers a call to trade back and they'll know you're taking a QB, so they'll stay put at 3. So my take is that you either draft your guy at #2 or trade back if you can to get a bunch of picks and take BPA, hoping Carson Wentz or Connor Cook are still on the board at 32.

I'd try to steal Kirk Cousins in FA. Then draft the best defender available at #2.

I like Cousins, but there's no way he's leaving Washington. If they can't get a deal done they'll franchise him.

Best you can do in FA this year is Bradford or Osweiler, and there's no certainty either one will hit the market.

  • Why in the world would a team give up a franchise quarterback? And if he isn't why in the world would we want him?

ummm....why?(throwing the balls off goalposts I mean)

I was never a big believer that Johnny was good. He just doesn't have an nfl skill set. I was in favor of playing him some because Josh Mccown sucks as well......you can't win with either of those bums.
