  • Well this makes for entertaining reading now. Coach of the year as predicted by browns board members:

    Chip Kelly x3

    Mike Pettine x3...

    Bruce Arians

    Ron Rivera

    Chuck Pagano

    Rex Ryan

3 out of a job, was almost 4. Only two went to the playoffs.

By this I mean who are going to win the Major Awards in the NFL this season? Make your predictions on these Major Awards:

Defensive Rookie of the Year: I think it could be between Shelton and Leonard Williams....so why not Shelton. (but some DB from like the 5th round will probably have like 10 ints......maybe even Ibrahim Campbell!!)

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Amari Cooper is a good bet....but I am going to say Melvin Gordon!

Defensive Player of the Year: Why make life difficult: JJ Watt.

Offensive Player of the Year: Aaron Rodgers

Most Valuable Player: Phillip Rivers.....call it a hunch that he leads his team to AFC title game....and maybe Super Bowl.

Coach of the Year: Shot in the dark: Rex Ryan

Comeback Player of the Year: Eric Berry, Chiefs. Coming back from recovering from cancer.

OK, let's look back on it now: (have any of these been awarded yet?)

Defensive Rookie of the Year: I think it could be between Shelton and Leonard Williams....so why not Shelton. (but some DB from like the 5th round will probably have like 10 ints......maybe even Ibrahim Campbell!!)

None of the guys I named have a chance.

Who did have the best rookie year defensively? I don't know what names are coming up.

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Amari Cooper is a good bet....but I am going to say Melvin Gordon!

These were not the worst choices. Cooper in the hunt certainly.

Defensive Player of the Year: Why make life difficult: JJ Watt. Easy prediction I think. Only competiton perhaps: Khalil Mack?

Offensive Player of the Year: Aaron Rodgers Did not live up to past performance. Give this to Cam Newton I think.

Most Valuable Player: Phillip Rivers.....call it a hunch that he leads his team to AFC title game....and maybe Super Bowl.

Yea, no. again, probably Newton here.

Coach of the Year: Shot in the dark: Rex Ryan Not even. Rivera or Arians.

Comeback Player of the Year: Eric Berry, Chiefs. Coming back from recovering from cancer. I think I have a winner here. Didn't Berry make Pro Bowl...even All Pro?

  • Yep, Berry is a good shout. Much more of a 'feel good' Comeback candidate than AP, so probably gets it on that one.

DRoY probably goes to Marcus Peters, but that's just a guess. Williams, Beasley, Dupree, Shelton, most first round guys didn't do much.

ORoY could be Gurley or Winston, or maybe Tyler Lockett.

Excellent effort Gipper. You are a good egg and a really nice feature of this board. Alas, I can't compete in this because my interest in the NFL continues to wane based on my team just not being competitive. I don't watch all the games as I used to.

Well, contribute what you can Boss. Particularly, continue with your impalement of stupid Steeler fans.

    Defensive Rookie of the Year:

Marcus Peters/ Chiefs he doesn't even look like a rookie

    Offensive Rookie of the Year:

Running back David Johnson/AZ Cardinals. On my fantasy team! Better than Gurley!

    Defensive Player of the Year:

    Khalil Mack

    Offensive Player of the Year:

Doug Baldwin/ Seattle WR how many TDs did he have in last five games? Lost count!

    Most Valuable Player:

    Cam Newton

    Coach of the Year:

    Ron Rivera

    Comeback Player of the Year:

    Carson Palmer
  • Donald should be DPOY.

  • Antonio Brown for offensive player of the year. He did what he did without Ben for 5 games. Insane.

OK, slightly arguable. But not a persuasive argument to the point of granting him the award.
