  • Second Chance Saloon. Over half the questions have been answered. Try again here where I have boiled down the ones yet unanswered:

    4. The very first two "Final Four" matchups included Starr vs. Meredith....and Len Dawson vs....Who?

    6. The following QBs started AFC Championship games for the Steelers: Bradshaw, BR, O'Donnell, and Cordell Stewart...plus one other....Who?

    9. The following QBs won the Super Bowl following their only single appearance in an NFC or AFC title game: Joe Namath, Brad Johnson, Jeff Hostetler, Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien......and one other QB....Who?

    10. Nine QBs have started an NFC/AFC title game for two different teams. These include Earl Morral, Brett Favre, and Peyton Manning. There are 6 others. Name them.

    11. A. What is the record between Manning and Brady in AFC title games to date?

    12. See the list above. Which of them have never played in an AFC or NFC title game?

  • While you are working on the above, here are the QB matchups that have taken place 2 times in AFC or NFC title games:

    Bart Starr vs. Don Meredith

    Roger Staubach vs. Pat Haden

    Terry Bradshaw vs. Dan Pastorini

Kurt Warner vs. Donovan McNabb (Warner once with Rams, once with Cards)

    Tom Brady vs. Joe Flacco

And that is it in addition to the 4 Brady/Peyton matchups, and the three Kosar/Elway, Bradshaw/Stabler, and Young/Aikman matchups.

Joe Montana played in 7 conf. title games....but faced a different opposing QB each time: Danny White, Joe Theisman, Steve Fuller, Dieter Brock, Jim McMahon, Jim Everett, and Jim Kelly

    Question 12.

    None

Check.....none of those QB ever appeared in an NFC or AFC conf. title game.

  • Another factoid:

John Elway and Dan Marino......who were quite good friends off field....having the same agent......never met up in an AFC conf. title game. The other of the Big Three of the 1983 draft, Jim Kelly, did have AFC title game confrontations with both Elway and Marino......but Marino vs. Elway, no.

They did meet once in postseason in an early round game though......here is the boxscore:

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199901090den.htm

Elway and Broncos beat hell out of Dolphins that day. 38-3
