KEEP DELETING IT RIFFER YOU LITTLE BITCH!!! BWAAAAHAHAHA BQ GETS THE VOTE OF "I HOPE HE DOESN'T PLAY LIKE SHIT" FROM HIS COACH. HE'S OFF TO A GOOD START!!

    Step away from the keyboard.

You've lost it Lum. Really, you are too tightly wrapped on this DA thing. Its not healthy.

The only thing Lum is wrapped on is DA's manhood. He irritates me more than a Steelers or Ratbird fan. At least they have an identity and allegiance to a team.

  • Since we're speculating, I think it was PS, RAC's staff, or a combination of the two.

It sure looks like RAC is a loyal guy (e.g., Carthon). He may also suffer from "assistant syndrome" meaning he has difficulty making tough decisions.

I doubt the owner did anything more here than possibly ask a question or two that were already being kicked around.

In the end, Savage and/or other coaches consulted with RAC and got him to buy in. I don't even think it was "against his wishes".

I think you just said what I said...only much better and more succinctly!!!

First I should admit that Crennel seems ill suited to the head coaching position, to put it kindly. He's a dreadful game day coach and a horrible speaker/motivator. He says some stuff that's funny and/or terrifying, depending on your POV.

But I kinda-sorta agree with Lum: I don't think he likes Brady Quinn. I think he wouldn't have made the switch if it were really, truly left up to him. I think he's treating Quinn the starter about like he treated Quinn the starter in waiting. He's been dismissive and insulting. And that's another sign that he's ill suited for this job.

When you have a 3-5 record, the lowest rated starting passer, and Brady Quinn waiting in the wings, a change is absolutely the only right answer. No doubt about it. Crennel's been in this league more than a week. He should know that.

Of course there are no guarantees. That's not even a factor. There never are. Do you wait until there are? Do you spend a first and second round pick on a guy and never, ever play him because you don't have a crystal ball and can't absolutely predict that he'll be better than Derek Anderson, even if Derek Anderson isn't winning or playing well at all?

I don't get that at all. It doesn't make even the tiniest drop of sense.

It sounds to me like Crennel would love to make another switch. It sounds to me like Crennel and Quinn won't be on the same team next year. So if this becomes Quinn's team, as many predict... well, you do the math.

    Very salient points without question

Any support for you argument from the guys in charge that still think Anderson gives us the best chance to win?

I know who RAC thinks gives them the best chance to win.

    Yeah, Carthon.

  • If Quinn has a sub-par first half on Thursday, watch Crennel yank him for Anderson and send the whole fuking city into a frenzy. He's that stupid.

Lumbskull, DA is finished in Cleveland. You can leave now.

I hope the guy doesn't fall on his face, but if he falls on his face you have to do something because I can't play quarterback."

    BWAAAAAHAHAHA

YEAH RAC SURE MADE THIS DECISION!!!! GO AHEAD AND BELEIVE IT GREYFAG!!!!

KEEP DELETING IT RIFFER YOU LITTLE BITCH!!! BWAAAAHAHAHA BQ GETS THE VOTE OF "I HOPE HE DOESN'T PLAY LIKE SHIT" FROM HIS COACH. HE'S OFF TO A GOOD START!!

    Lum,

You've really gone off the deep end. Go play in traffic you boob.

  • How 'bout this: Who really gives a sh_t who's decision it was. The reality is, the decision was made and on Thurs, BQ will be starting. I don't care who we put in as long as it gives us our best chance of winning. I think this season so far has proven that DA might not be the franchise man. With that said, we go to Brady. Of he falls on his ass, we go to plan C.....RAC

This game is about winning and nothing less. Because winning brings money. And money makes the world go 'round. Anything short of that, change needs to happen. I support any change that gives us hope to win!

  • ahh i love it. lum doesn't get his way and now hes crying and throwing a tantrum like a 5 year old who's parents won't buy him what he wants at toys'r'us

    Yes, quite salient.

    Sorry, couldn't help it.

  • Crennel did not make thre decision. Period.

On the ESPN segment, Crennel announced that it was his decision. He should have followed that up by saying ......Brady is our guy. We have complete confidence in his ability to lead this to team to victory. It's time for Brady to show us what he is capable, and the coaching staff will work hard to give him every tool available to be successful........

Instead Romeo said "I hope he doesn't fall on his face." No kidding! He really said that. Does that sound like someone who made the decision? ROFLMAO.

Did you also miss where he said that CLE was going to beat DEN?

I tend to agree with the theory someone else posted where more likely there was a meeting of the brain trust and RAC was swayed in favor of BQ. Kind of like what Jim Brown previously hinted at.

  • It should all be taken with a grain of salt, but some interesting notes/comments in Grossi's latest article

    http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.s ... ion_a.html

According to a source, Crennel already had met with Savage on Monday morning and the two men did discuss the negative reaction fans had to Anderson's interception that sealed a 37-27 loss to Baltimore. It was mentioned by Savage that the fans could jump on Anderson hard if the quarterback had a slow start Thursday night against Denver.

Crennel said he wanted to discuss the quarterback situation with his coaches before making a final decision. The source said that offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski "was disappointed" in Crennel's thinking, but neither he nor Rip Scherer, quarterbacks coach, attempted to dissuade Crennel.

Brady Quinn, with Browns quarterback coach Rip Scherer, earlier this season. "We're not throwing in the towel, not giving up on the season," said head coach Romeo Crennel. "We're going to beat Denver, that's what we're going to do." Crennel then met with Savage later and announced he was making the switch. "

""We've been talking about this for a while now," Crennel said of the almost-weekly questions about Anderson's job status. "Usually I try to be pretty thorough about what I do in evaluating things. I just felt it was time."

Crennel did not buy the argument that Anderson had been playing better in three wins in five games after opening the season with three losses.

"The play was inconsistent, as the record indicates," the coach said. "We're an inconsistent football team. I've told you all along, the supporting cast impacts Derek's play. But he's the quarterback and along with that position comes added responsibility and added scrutiny. It's part of the job and he'll live with it and he'll go on." "

The HC better say that. Did you see the part where Romoe said (referring to Quinn) "I hope he doesn't fall on his face?" Now those of words of inspiration.

Romeo is getting bitchslapped by the upper guys. Why can't they just fire him and save us (and him) the pain? Romeo has been an NFL coach for a long time. He deserves better treatment than this.

roach (Now i'm even feeling sorry for the guy- our team is in a sad state)

Of course see the other comments from his presser and notes in Grossi's article. I mean we all know we can't believe a lick of anything any coach or GM says to the press, but RAC is portraying this as his call, and so are his coaches (notes that they were not fully on board with the move and felt DA had been doing better, while RAC did not).

While we're at the dig up old threads game, check out Lum's initial post in this thread:

Yeah, this guy didn't act at ALL like a troll. No, not poor Lums. He was victimized!

Again, its not the football content. He actually brings content often. Its the baiting, inciting, and insulting tactics. Once it wasn't moderated, the community responded in kind. Shocking.

Funny, this thread still somewhat exists. Weird, how things ARE still the same, even RAC not here. And Manstupid was supposed to bring stability to the organization. What idiotas we are!
