I have quit smoking several times! Once for 7 years when I was still in the Navy. Started again because of stress. Quit finally when my father died of lung cancer. Been almost 7 years now. Hardest part is the first few weeks. I quit cold turkey. Just stopped. Good luck. I also work out daily, doing over 1 hour of rowing per day, with pushups, and wt training. It seems to help working out. Gets rid of stress and "poison" from the system.

Quitting smoking, for me was easy for me i switched to

then i wanted to stop that and chewed on cigars for a while,

after about a month of that I stopped all together and gained 40 lbs.

So I started back with Skoal Straight. On the average I use 1 can it lasts about 10 days.

Addictions are a pain in the ASS! some are worse than others, try my boy he has finally faced his problem with alcohol and is currently getting rehab for his addiction.

The boy just became a Man.

Well it's day 5. Not only that, I am doing the Atkins diet too, lol. Lost 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks and quit smoking, feel pretty good right now. Stop-Smoking Drug Might Work For Drinkers, Too

March 5, 2009

Varenicline is already sold as a stop-smoking drug under the name Chantix, but now researchers say the drug also may help heavy drinkers cut down on their alcohol consumption, Medical News Today reported March 3.

Yale School of Medicine researchers found that heavy-drinking smokers given varenicline were less likely to drink than those given a placebo, and also reported feeling fewer cravings for alcohol and less of a feeling of intoxication when they did drink. They also were more likely to decline when offered a drink than those in the placebo group.

The study found that 80 percent of the varenicline group did not drink at all during the research period, compared to 30 percent of the placebo group.

Researchers noted that combining varenicline with alcohol did not produce any major side-effects, which could make it a safer alternative to naltrexone, which is metabolized by the liver.

"We anticipate that the results of this preliminary study will trigger clinical trials of varenicline as a primary treatment for alcohol use disorders, and as a potential dual treatment for alcohol and tobacco use disorders," said researcher Sherry McKee.

The study was published online in the journal Biological Psychiatry.

Hey T. I tried that Chantrix, dude I had the worst nightmares. I mean some really vivid shit. Stopped taking it and it stopped. The patch is really working for me so far. 5 days and counting. Thanks for the post though, very encouraging.

The issue is is when I drink, it's like a ritual, have a drink, go and smoke. That seems to be the major issue. Usually, when I drink I might have 6, but Tuesday I had 3 and knocked me on my ass. The patch seems to be lowering my tolerance. Definately a good thing.

Thats good, I realize that everyone's tolerence level is different. some drugs work on some but will screw up others chemistry.

You can also check out a good health food store and find natural supplements that can help with the cravings. Not a GNC or Vitamin World you will have to search.

here is one online I have bought Oregano Oil and Body Alkalizer products from them. Plus they are in Cleveland. You can always call and ask what they recommend

Boy, though if you didn't tell me to go to their site and was browsing the internet (I wouldn't of found them anyways, they are ranked in the 11 millions) I would of left in a heartbeat.
