Camp Cook

The Browns Board

  • NO on Cook. The Browns already took a chance on a polarizing prospect at qb.

We all know that we wished that never happened.

It isn't just that Cook declined to play in the Senior Bowl. It's a list of things.

    McCarron declined because of...health reasons.

Cook isn't a guy who loves the game, if he just thought he didn't want to bother

    competing in the Senior Bowl.

I want a qb who LOVES the competition, goes after the game because he loves it,

and that's my #1 on the list of things I'd look for. Ya gotta have heart.

Cook fizzled when the going got rough. Hue will pick a qb that has all the intangibles, and the

tools to be molded into the qb he wants the Browns to have. He did it with Flacco, who never took a snap

from center in college, I read... and with the red headed kid in Cincy.

Cook isn't even on my list of qb's that might be the guy. Hackenburg could be, but who knows. He could also

    be "Jake Locker".

I believe the right qb will be the guy Hue pics in the first round. Because all the teams who need

THE qb...will be picking them in the first round.

April is always too far away.

He is unproven because he has never played a single game in the NFL. NO college QB is proven in my mind. (including Luck/Newton/Peyton/Elway until they played a while in the league. TOO MANY high first round picks have busted for me to say anyone who has not played is proven).

so everybody's unproven, that doesn't mean they aren't worth drafting

Except, they did rate them highly.....they just busted out.

Quinn was closest, but they all had more question marks than Goff and probably Wentz

EVERY QB....including Lynch, Goff, Wentz and all these others are HUGE projects. That's a fact.

All projects - yes. Some much larger than others, though.

That is not what I said....I said that their is no reason to be orgasmic over them because they are unproven...as you are.

If they draft him, fine....and he wins and performs super, fine.....THEN you can cream your jeans over him if you wish.

Until then, keep it in your fucking pants.

All about the same as far as I am concerned. Jamarcus Russell wasn't considered a huge project, Tom Brady was.

They are all Huge projects...no matter where drafted, until they prove their worth in the NFL.

Gipper read a fortune cookie Last 4th of July that said there would be no first round QBs this year. He then decided that since QB isn't a very important position that the Browns might as well take the 5th QB prospect on the board. if there's anything that every QB the Browns drafted after Couch has taught us it's that the bargain bin is the best place to find a franchise signal caller.

  • Camp Cook makes Camp Lynch look busy.

  • It's two days after the Super Bowl, so I didn't take a close look in the draft process, yet. Right now, I'm neither into Camp Goff, nor Wentz, Lynch, Cook, ...

But I think we should make a statement and take a QB with our No.2 Pick and make it clear, that this is our guy. When we have the guy, Hue Jackson can decide if he let him play from Day 1 like Jacksonvlle did with Blake Bortles or eventually give him a redshirt year.

The problem i have with taking a QB at No.32 is, that I think, that a guy who fell to No.32 isn't your day 1 QB. And even if he would sit behind Josh McCown for a while, at some point during the season some guys will scream, that he has to start. Look at JM how this worked out if you let a guy who isn't ready start, just because he's a first round pick.

I don't wanna say, that we wouldn't get a quality QB in the late first or early second round, but I think, that he wouldn't get enough time in Cleveland to become a NFL ready QB before he sees the field.

  • If we're going to scrape the bottom of the barrel, let's at least go for Cardale or Hackenberg.

Exactly, if you're going to throw a Hail Mary go for it. This guy seems to have more baggage then either Jones or Hackenberg.

  • Remember draft day (film), when there was that big shot QB that it turned out nobody liked on his team? Cook reminds me of that guy.

  • Jay Cutler, perhaps?

  • I've heard a lot of press on Cook's lack of leadership abilities, how he wasn't a captain, and other slights about his personality. If you're the Browns, you probably need to stay away from guys like that. I'm not saying Cook is ANYTHING like Manziel, but if there are character concerns, I'd say our team can't really look at the guy unless they can independently verify that all the concerns are total garbage.

  • I personally like Hackenburg as a 3rd or maybe even 4th rounder and take all the D players we can load up on thru FA and the draft. He did not have the kind of support around him this year that he did his first two. I'd look at those two years as more indicative of what he brings to the game. And I'd count on Josh this year at wr. I think he's grown up a lot while on suspension.

I think this would be an accurate assessment as far as demeanor. We don't even know if he has the same physical talent as Cutler.

It is called Camp Cook.....but as I said, it could be Camp Cook/Cardale/Prescott/Hackenberg.

People think there are 3 QBs in this draft that are so great.

Well, history shows that sometimes it is to lower rated QB that do as well or better when it actually comes to play this game.

I mean, Dan Marino was the 6th QB to be taken his year. Montana was 3rd round. Russell Wilson. etc.

Who is the Redskins QB? The guy taken #2 or the guy taken in round 4.

    I am simply being egalitarian.
