Jonathan Paul Manziel

I think it's really twisted to blame her for getting her ear drum burst. A fight between a man and a woman is not a fair fight. It's pretty clear they both have issues, but a big reason so much of this stuff doesn't get reported is because of the "blame the victim" mentality.
I don't see her getting all this supposed sympathy. Deion Sanders publicly blamed her. All the Johnny knob slurpers have called her a liar. Meanwhile everyone is....."poor Johnny....he needs help....we should feel sorry for him." What about feeling sorry for his alleged victim? What about feeling sorry for those with diagnosed mental illness who live on the damn streets? Those who don't have all the help johnny has available to him? Nah. Screw johnny. If he did what this girl alleges, his ass needs to be in jail. Judt like any if us would be for beating on a woman.
I think all of you feeling sorry for Johnny should do an experiment. Drive your car at a high speed along the shoulder of the highway while pretending to physically fight with your girl until bystanders call the cops. Then when they get there have your girl say you hit her and you tell the cops you had a couple drinks. See what happens to YOU in that situation. Bet you at LEAST get a field sobriety test and a seat in the back of a patrol car.
-
As I've said I've been pulled over frequently assuming I've been drinking, a few times I got a field sobriety test and only a couple times a breathalyzer. Most of the time because I spoke in a normal manner and didn't see in the slightest bit intoxicated the police decided not to shake me down.
PS the reason I've been pulled over more often than the average is because as an entertainer I'm always driving home right after the bar is closed and local cops are going with the averages for a drunk driving windfall at that time of night.

And even if he isn't charged - he has serious substance problems. He's completely ignoring the team's phone calls.
Knife was at the end of the incident - when he caught her trying to facetime someone (allegedly, of course).
-
So if it turns out that he is cleared of these charges, shouldn't that change everyones opinion? Because there's a big difference between these two incidents and TMZ party pictures.
Also as mentioned before before or after the assault with a deadly weapon, the butcher knife?

Everyone's opinion on what?
That he needs help? No, doesn't change it for me.
That we need to move on at the QB position? No, doesn't change it for me.
That he's a likeable guy whose life has spiraled out of control? No, doesn't change it for me.
I hope he didn't do anything that warrants criminal charges. Either way, we need to move on, and he needs help.
If he does get charged, it escalates things with the legal system and the NFL ... but I've already moved on from him, just watching the show now.

So, if that is true, he really did show up drunk and Pettine took one final bullet for him.
I thought the timing of the wednesday concussion was somewhat strange, but I gave the Browns the benefit of the doubt. I guess they decided to protect Johnny. Can't say they didn't try.

I don't claim to know the sequence of events or whether she is being truthful or not. I do know that anyone who pulls a butcher knife on m, male or female, is going to get a quick stunning shot to the ear, the knee or up the nose with a palm. All 3 cause at least a temporary disabling condition that allows me time to leave with no one getting stabbed. Not defending JM if her story is all true, just that there is room in there for another story that would also make sense.
And if any one of you ever has a woman pull a knife on you in an apartment, you damn sure better be closer to an open door than she is if you choose to be valiant.
-
Just let us know when he is cut.
-
The way I understand it, the knife was the last of the incident, just before helicopters were called to find him. It never had to get there. If what Johnny apologists say is true, he had the right to defend himself from a knife wielding woman, ok, I can get with that. However, it ALL could have been put to rest way before that happened. In Johnny's hotel when she wanted to get away from him in the first place. All he had to do was call hotel security or the police and have her removed. Incident over. Sounds to me to be at least mutual combat. Sorry, I got no respect for a guy who thinks taking on a girl is a fair fight.
-
These situations completely suck. There's no way to verify what actually happens, and by the time a courtroom is done with the whole thing, the "truth" will be all twisted. What is obvious, is the fact that Manziel is a seriously troubled person, and he'll never play a down in the NFL again as a starter. I really think it's over for him. A sad story we've seen too many times.

The question is- why did he even try to drive her home? Call the limo service and get her the hell out of my life if you've moved on to another hottie.

This is sad Z- and I have no doubt it's what happened. Pettine was dealing with a high profile drunk, and covered Manziel's ass. 20\20 hindsight says he should have just called it as he saw it.

Well shades of Jodi Arias. Mortal Combat would have been a final solution.
Seems Coleen has had enough.

Well, Im sure things will unfold during the coming week......One thing is for sure, if I was being publicly accused of all these things like being a massive drunk, missing practice and beating my girlfriend and literally being crushed nationwide, Id be saying something and fighting for my life and my career.....I mean really fighting for it....surely would not go quiet for weeks/months and just take it, thats for sure....most innocent people stand up and say it.....vehemently....

I think Pet really cared for Johnny, in a fatherly way.
When you are dealing with an addict you lose, no matter what method you try.
But Coach Pett was a standup-guy who never cut down Johnny in public, always tried to build him up.
I'm sure there was LOT about Johnny that the Browns knew about but kept in-house.
He probably exhausted the whole organization in his two years.
I met with one of the Browns VPs at the end of 2014 and told him me that everyone believed in Johnny but that there was "something that had to happen" before Johnny could succeed. And he was talking about rehab. So they probably felt pretty hopeful when he spent those six weeks in rehab. Then watched the wheels come off again. I'm no doctor, don't know the guy ... but I'd say he's a long-term rehab candidate. Like "walk away from football, commit to this, and still come out a young man with your whole life ahead of you" rehab.

At this point I'm sure he's not going to say anything unless his lawyer advises it.
Though the TMZ statement : "I have great things coming ahead. I know I've been having fun, I just have to get my body right. I'm 100% committed to playing football" sounds like he's delusional.
-
The worst part of this is that we're likely going to still be on the hook for his 2016 salary.

At this point things are way out of control.....but he's had a long time and a lot of opportunities to step up and protect his image OR take responsibility for any of his mess......and has not done it .......

I wonder if the NFL will investigate this.
Not that we can be in trouble for "enabling", but falsifying an injury report.
Wouldn't the doctors that examined him have to be in on it too?
If he was drunk, just bench him again, and suspend him for a game ... I guess they were still trying to protect their #1 pick investment at that point, hoping he'd get clean in the offseason.
NFL could probably put the screws to Pettine and find out the truth now if they wanted too. And then dock the organization for something about lying about the injury. It never ends.

So what? A little hair of the dog so to speak.

sad. with the negative media, if they don't cover for him, they are throwing him under the bus.
but they did, trying to protect him from himself, and now they are complaining the Browns
covered for him.
Somehow, this media garbage has to stop. A playoff team might help.

Texas' Castle laws are pretty strong...
of course she's a she...
and it was a knife not a gun...
