He probably has sewn up the nomination and he acted that way with his speech tonight. He congratulated Cruz and said only a few attack words against Rubio and the rest of his speech he attacked Hillary Clinton. Trump was rightfully bragging about all the states he won tonight but I didn't see him gloating about. Trump is certainly looking now past the primaries to the general election. He knows he will need the Rubio and Cruz supporters in his camp this fall.

Meanwhile Cruz spent the whole time lying and shitting on Trump.

Cruz still doesn't have the appeal. He does OK in the Bible belt but doesn't even come close anywhere else. You have Trump blowing out places like MA and NH (will add NY to that list). Then winning the swings like VA, OH, FL. And winning Bible thumpers in SC and GA.

Then you have Rubio coming out and giving victory speeches every time he wins little to nothing.

Trump is probably gonna win Ohio, definitely win Florida. Definitely time to learn to like him.

I try to be objective about this. Trump has been a total buffoon in his attacks against both Cruz and Rubio. He has acted more like a spoiled adolescent than a serious presidential candidate. Cruz still thinks he can win so of course he is going to keep up the attacks on Trump. Rubio the same way but they along with Kasich are in denial. Just because Trump didn't act up with his usual insults in his speech last night is only because he sees the math and knows the nomination is sewn up and he is now focused on the general election and trying to heal the wounds he has caused with his scorched earth attacks. Trump always used his leverage of running third party against the republicans and if he wins the nomination he might find himself worrying about a third party candidate who would siphon away votes. Even though Trump signed a pledge he wouldn't run third party he always had an *out* with saying it was on condition he was treated fairly (and only he knew the definition of fair, it was in his own mind).

And remember Trump now loves the bible thumpers. I'm disappointed the evangelical Christians have thrown their support behind Trump. I will vote for Trump over Clinton because those are the only choices I have.

On a positive note about Trump I thought his speech last night was excellent. It was so good in fact I forgot about the things I don't like about him.

Still think Cruz wins Texas but even so the race is realistically over for him. His whole strategy was to win big on Super tuesday in the southern states and ride the momentum into the next wave March 15. Winning Texas will keep him on life support. If by some chance he would exceed expectations and win a couple other states today it could breathe some new life into his campaign but that is a shot in the dark.

The winner is St. Judes hospital and they do a great work. Seriously you called the race very well. I never would have thought Trump would win the deep south even with his blatant pandering for the Christian vote. Cruz barely squeaked by a win in a neighboring state Oklahoma. Even if Sessions had not come out in support of Trump I don't think it would have changed anything.

  • LOL Diehard that is the worry by some that we don't know who the real Trump is. Are his real views more in line with Hillary Clinton or is he genuine in what he is saying now? Trump's new support from Chris Christie means nothing to me as Christie has always been an opportunist. Trump's new support from Jeff Sessions though carries a lot of weight with me as I have always respected Sessions. Sessions must believe he is genuine.

  • I love all those people that say 'if x happens I'm moving to another country'. Like back when gay marriage was recognised in the US, people saying they'd move to Canada...good luck with that.

The debate tomorrow is going to be just as ugly as ever. Rubio and Cruz are both going to go after Trump often and hard like they did last time.

Rubio's only purpose is to try and steal as many delegates from Trump as possible - that's the establishment's goal for him. No reason to stay in the race otherwise.

Cruz's only purpose is the same thing - except his people still think he has a chance to win (he doesn't)

The goal is a brokered convention, not for either of these schmucks to actually run in the general. Regardless - you don't blow out NH, SC, GA, AL, AR, VT, VA, NV, TN, and MA then go on to lose the nomination. T is about to get an endorsement from the governor of FL and is already polling +20 of Rubio. T will also win Ohio, Kasich won't have won a single state by then so I can't see people sticking with him. If Trump doesn't get the nomination, it'll be because of some serious shenanigans.

  • T? Are we calling him T now? I pity the fool who doesn't take him seriously.

Move to the USA. Become naturalized and you can get on board the T train for his reelection in 2020.

The republicans can either unite behind Trump or give the election to Hillary Clinton. Trump has been guilty of the personal attacks even more than Cruz or Rubio. Cruz has not responded with the personal attacks against Trump even though Trump repeatedly has called Cruz a liar and made personal attacks on Cruz. Rubio thinks he has found a winning message in calling Trump a con man and is determined to make this stick on Trump like Trump did with Cruz being a *liar* and Rubio being a *choker* and a light weight *little Marco*.

Both attacks by Rubio and Cruz seem more like desperation now. I don't like what Rubio is doing because in the fall if Trump is running against Clinton the democrats will have ads with what Rubio is saying. If Trump locks it up on 3/15 it is time for all the parties to get together and unite against Hillary Clinton.

Cruz actually happens to be a huge liar though. He flopped on everything in 2 years, runs a nixon campaign, and runs ads that say things like "Trump will get rid of the 2nd amendment"

The branding though is something Trump is a master at. Trump can get the liar/choker/low energy tags to stick, Rubio can't.

Unlikely that the whole party unites - the big donors and lobbyists that own all of them would rather have HRC than DJT, so they'll act in their best interests and try to keep the party divided to help her.

The old saying is true "united we stand and divided we fall". The republican party better start getting in line with Trump being the eventual nominee and stop trying to make the argument for the democrats he is not electable. I don't see Clinton or Sanders doing this with each other. I think they are smart enough to know better. If Rubio loses (which is likely) all those attacks he is making against Trump are going to be used by the Clinton campaign this fall. Bank on it.

There are many republican voters fed up with the establishment GOP. The republicans every election cycle run on securing the border and then after the election they do nothing because the big donors in the GOP, the chamber of commerce republicans who benefit with cheap labor want the open borders.

The longer Bernie stays in the race, the more Divided the Dems get too. DNC may be happy with Hillary, but voters are very divided on that side.
