RG3 Signs with the Browns

Locked The Browns Board

  • Let's say RG3 starts week one. Who are the receivers? We don't have any. So potentially he's throwing to rookies. This draft sure is going to be interesting to say the least!

Hypothetical: #2 Laremy Tunsil, #32 Wide Reciever?

Could be gordon. They have some history

That would be VERY interesting. Maybe the Browns have a heads up from the League office that Josh is going to be reinstated.

If Gordon is allowed back in, the tandem of Gordon/RG3/Duke/Barnidge is a lot more appealing offensively than anything we've seen in a while. Appealing of course is the key word there.

Low risk, not much spent, big upside. Great signing. They look brilliant if it works out and if it doesn't they didn't lose much. I prefer this to wasting an early 1st rounder on those two QBs in the draft.

if the FO doesn't select one 'of those two QBs in the draft' at #2 then i'll no longer believe in hue, sashi or whatever bullshit they're trying to sell, period. it will show me that they don't know wtf they're doing.

Or the opposite if this move turns out successfully.

I am of the opinion that getting RG is a 50/50 proposition, and that taking a QB in the draft is about a 50/50 proposition.

Perhaps, if they do both, they will get at least one QB out of things that can actually play this game.

  • $11 mil per year if he reaches incentives. People are calling this is a "size-able investment"

Yea, that is more than I thought they would give him, by far. But what is the "base" salary....if he meets none of the incentives.?

  • Reporter: "So, RGIII, you signed with the Browns. With their o-line being gutted in free agency, and with no playmakers of which to speak of, what do you expect from this upcoming season"?

JT, Bito, Greco on the line with Pazstor, Erving...and maybe Wisniewski.....and Alvin Bailey. Better than many may think.

WRs: Gordon, Hawkins, Pryor, Gabriel, Hartline, draft pick......maybe better than many may think.

RBs: Crowell, Duke, draftee maybe? Maybe not so bad.

Actually, more attention may be needed to defense.

I just watched Carson Wentz pro day. Wentz looked real good. A+ good. Hue Jackson was right there with Pep Hamilton. I believe their going to draft Wentz to bring along with RG3. A 2 year deal with RG3 tells me they'll be a competition, they can bring Wentz along slowly and develop him the right way, for once.

That would be until Griffin gets hurt. Which might be sooner rather than later. Griffin has a Sam Bradford body.

I still say keep McCown.....and Shaw on the Taxi Squad.

  • Fine, but I hope we still draft Goff

Better get the pink to to.
  • From RGIII conference call:

On if he has talked with Gordon about the possibility of playing together:

“No, like I said, I just try to be there for Josh as much as I can possibly can. All of us -- me, him, (Titans WR) Kendall Wright, (Cowboys WR Terrance Williams -- we’ve all talked about reuniting at some point. It would be a lot of fun. You just have to take things as they come, and he is taking care of the business that he has to take care of right now. He knows I’m there for him. That’s all I can say.”

That would be a solid WR group

All those three needed was yet another QB who can't complete a progression? I think we have different definitions of the word "appealing"

NOTE: 3rd link in the above shows multiple snapshots within plays demonstrating how RG3 was no more competent than JFF at executing a progression. Many, many times Jackson cleared out the DB's for someone to cut underneath.. and RG3 never got the ball out.

  • I though you guys might find this read interesting. It has me leaning towards the Goff side of the fence.... I hope RG was studying defensive tendencies while he was sitting on the bench... More of the above.

I think my favorite thing in the entire world is when a person finds an article with a handful of screenshots and then uses that as some sort of "i told you so" scouting report.

Cant keep shaw on the taxi squad he has 2 seasons in the NFL.. Now back to reality.. Another stupid move by a stupid team stuck on stupid..... Just let them move already . and end the torture... This bullshit team dont give a fuck about its fanbase..all it cares about is $$$$$

  • We need to get Wisniewski at center next .....

  • Hell, maybe it's Karma. He was set to come here till DC sold the farm for him. He won 14 games in 4 years and McCown won the same in 14 years. He knows the Browns will likely take a qb at 2 as well. He stated that he's fine with that and would work with the kid any way he can. RG3 is not stupid and has a pretty good work ethic. I'm hopeful

That would be nice. Has there been any movement on him? I haven't heard much of anything regarding his free agency.

    http://craighoffman....-rgiii.html?m=1 Mr. Hoorta

    ************************************************

That's odd. I read it, and it has me leaning even further towards Wentz.... and I was already there.

After watching Wentz's pro day.... Wentz is more agile and elusive in the pocket ...(quicker feet), and

he can throw way down the field with oomph behind it. Goff doesn't have that strong of an arm.

  • An all upside, high ceiling signing that didn't cost us a single pick. If he returns to his rookie form, the Browns will win some games and be competitive. I see no downside to this signing, and will be rooting for him

Also, if Hue is really as good as all of us hope he is, then I'm betting on RGIII to have a chance of being NFL comeback player of the year.

  • for a team that has gone through 3-4 starting qbs a year for the past several years, there can be a lot said about needing cannon fodder too.

  • Ya'll fucking high.
