Cruz isn't toast. Think of it like the Browns start the season at 3-7 and like a typical Browns fan you're thinking we win the next 6 games and BOOM 9-7 might just get us in the play-offs. 🙂

    Happy Easter Diehard.

I'm not offended. I don't have too much faith in any politician and that includes Cruz. What I like about Cruz is he is a constitutionalist and I admire and respect the wisdom of the framers of our country who I consider wiser than most of our politicians today. What Trump supporters are not getting is that winning the general election is going to be a whole new ball game. Trump draws big crowds but that is deceiving because Sanders draws big crowds. Trump has got to get those high negatives down. He should be looking past Cruz right now like Clinton has already done with Sanders. Cruz would have to get over 80 percent of the delegates to win which would be impossible and Sanders is so far behind in delegates it is impossible for him to beat Clinton. Clinton is wisely attacking republicans now and Trump is foolishly attacking Cruz and it makes no sense to me. He ought to be going after Clinton which would rally many republican voters behind him. That is how I see it.

  • Exactly ! Trump is going overboard, and seems to be accidently? self-destructive in the political game.

  • @bbedward said:

I don't really see it because he just retweeted a random person that had a picture of Cruz's wife looking ugly. He didn't say anything negative, nothing he can be quoted on - he just had to defend himself from the rabbid media attacks as usual.

Hillary has a worse record than Trump with women, hell be alright. Yea he says mean things - but he says them to everybody whether man, woman, black, white, Hispanic.

His actions are stronger - like the fact he hired the first ever woman to build a sky scraper and had hired several in top executive positions before anybody else was doing it in real estate in the 70s/80s

Trump doesn't brag about that stuff for some reason, but when the GOP gets behind him they'll certainly start pushing the positives.

It was a dumb thing to do. Trump had the high ground and took the low road. I don't think Cruz had anything to do with the ad and he would be breaking the law if he did. All Trump had to do was say how wrong it was to attack his wife and it would have put Cruz on the defense for days having to say his campaign had nothing to do with it.

I doubt the trustworthiness and lawfulness of super PACs.

At the very least you have lobbyists who talk to super PACs and the individual campaigns.

Trump's kill shot though was the response to the scandal when Cruz blamed Trump. Nothing before that even matters to anybody except Cruz supporters.

  • how is the most polarizing politician in american history going to win the general election? He's making HIllary look like the middle of the road independant choice.

    Stuart.

Trump isn't a politician moron. He'll tell you that himself. He bashes politicians every time he speaks.

Does that help you understand why he could win?

  • obamao is the most polarizing, worst, asswipe politician in American history.

  • Poll: 70 Percent of Women Don't Like Donald Trump

Trump has run a nasty personal attack campaign not only against Cruz but against almost all of the republican candidates. His prior comments on women added to the recent personal attacks with making fun of Carly Fiorina's face and Heidi Cruz's appearance are nothing but stupid unforced errors on Trump's part and he already is viewed negatively by 70 percent of women who make up 53 percent of voters. This spells disaster in November. I found out how unpopular Trump is with women when my wife (who has voted republican since we were married in 82) told me she has no intentions of voting for Trump. She showed me on her Facebook many other of her friends I know are solidly republican and they also were saying they would never vote for Clinton but they will not vote for Trump either. This confirms to me polling that 47 percent of Republican women view Trump unfavorable. That poll of 70 percent of women having a negative view of Trump is a sure indicator that most of that 70 percent is not going to vote for Trump.

It gets worse with Trump with Blacks, Hispanics and millennials viewing Trump unfavorably in record numbers. But Trump supporters will say he will bring in new voters. The polling shows that to be true but While Trump does bring in new voters, the polls show he’s alienating more than he’s bringing in.

The Trump supporters will say but wait until Trump's message of treating women well in the past comes out and I would counter with wait until the attacks from the Clinton campaign start coming in.

I hope Trump can turn it around but I will say this again for the hundredth time he needs to surround himself with good political advisers who will keep him off twitter and saying dumb things

Nothing would surprise me. If Clinton does win, she will be a huge bust as President though. Slick Willie may still have enough Viagra to lay some of the interns though, that could be interesting news on Morning Joe

This. Although they wont make it that obvious. In a year or two he'll have another magic conversion and profess his undying admiration for the clintons

Even if Trump is not a plant he is doing damage to the republican party. I like Trump on much of what he says but why say inflammatory things like rounding up millions and millions of illegal immigrants and deporting them when he knows that is NOT possible. it is not physically possible as every person he deports will have court hearings etc and tie up the system hopelessly. I think Trump himself knows it is not possible and throws that red meat our there for his sycophant followers. We know that Trump in an off the record remarks may have told the liberal editors of NY Times that he was not serious about some of the things he has proposed. The plain fact is the republicans have to expand their base and get the Hispanic voters as they have been consistently every growing voters. If the republicans lose them and they vote lockstep with the democrats like the black population does it will be next to impossible for republicans to ever win a presidential election.

Then we have the democrats who love to paint republicans as anti woman and the republicans fictional war on women so Donald Trump goes and insults both Fioriana's and Heidi Cruz's physical appearance (like a junior high schooler would do). Women represent 53 percent of voters and are another group of voters the republicans will need badly to win presidential elections. Cleve is right on this the republican party will not win presidential elections with only winning white male voters.

I do not believe Trump is anti black, anti woman or anti Hispanic and I agree with building the wall and securing our borders but Trump should not be unnecessarily alienating Hispanic and women voters. it makes no sense. I read where there is support from legal Hispanic voters for securing the border and building a wall and Trump in practice has shown he treats women fairly (so stop with foolishly offending women by making fun of their looks).

  • Polls today are a snapshot of today and things can be entirely different in November. The polls now show Trump getting blown out in November. Trump is an excellent speaker and when he acts presidential he knocks it out of the park every time. I saw Trump go into what appeared to be a hostile and skeptical crowd at AIPAC and give a speech where he had the people giving him multiple standing ovations.

I watched Newt Gingrich on FOX yesterday say the same things I have been saying all along about Trump.

  • Newt Gingrich: Wives spat is Trump's 'wake-up call'

It was "utterly stupid" for Donald Trump "to get sucked into" a fight over his and Ted Cruz's wives, Newt Gingrich scolded the frontrunner on Monday night while discussing the Republican candidate's retweet of an image perceived to negatively compare the physical attributes of his wife, Melania, against Heidi Cruz last week.

"For Trump to get sucked into this at a personal level, tweeting about or repeating a tweet, technically, about Mrs. Cruz is just utterly stupid," the former speaker of the House and 2012 presidential candidate said in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity. "And it has frankly weakened everything that Trump ought to be strengthening. It sent a signal to women that is negative at a time when his numbers with the women are already bad. It sent a signal of instability to people who are beginning to say, ‘OK, maybe I’ve gotta get used to it, maybe I’ve gotta rely on him, maybe he could be presidential,’ and frankly, it energized Cruz."

Gingrich, who has been seen as boosting Trump over the last several weeks as he looks to navigate the primary and convention process, had some stern advice for the Manhattan real-estate magnate.

"The interview you just did is as good as I have ever seen Ted Cruz," Gingrich remarked, referring to the Texas senator's interview earlier in the program. "He was clear, he was vigorous, he was prepared to be combative, but at the same time, he was getting into big issues and big ideas."

Predicting that Cruz is "going to do well" in the Wisconsin primary on April 5, Gingrich added, "and this ought to be a wake-up call to Trump, that he had better rethink some of the underlying patterns of his campaign."

He also offered some advice for how Trump should have handled the situation after an anti-Trump super PAC posted what he called a "truly stupid" image to Facebook featuring Trump's then-girlfriend posing nude for British GQ in 2000.

"The answer was simple: Melania was a supermodel on a professional shoot for a very famous magazine. He’s very proud of her, and she’ll be a very beautiful first lady. Now, if he had just said that and moved on, then the Cruz campaign would have looked stupid, the issue would have been over, he would have seemed more disciplined and pleasant and a gentleman and instead he gets down into this mud that I think really has hurt him," Gingrich said.

But he wasn't done yet with his words of caution, warning that the Trump campaign ought to wake up to the reality of the situation.

"I’m not sure anybody in the Trump campaign understands yet what a big mistake this is, and they can’t keep doing this stuff and think they’re going to get the nomination," Gingrich said.

"They’re still in a dogfight, Cruz does have a road to get to a majority, certainly a road to block Trump from a majority, and I don’t know that on a second ballot that Trump would be able to survive because Cruz is doing a better job than Trump of organizing the delegates, as we learned for example in Louisiana. This is a tough business running for president, and you can talk about lawsuit all you want to, as Trump did today. That ain’t gonna cut it," he said, referring to the Trump campaign's declaration earlier Monday that it would move forward with its efforts to de-certify the Louisiana delegates.

"He’s gotta get in there, be well-organized and actually get the delegates," Gingrich said. "And I think he’s got to reassess some of what he’s doing.”

  • And in the end it probably won't matter much how he tailors his campaign from here on out. Every segment of the media hates him and the Republican establishment hates him.

The headlines will read that he hates women, Muslims, immigrants, Mexicans etcetera etcetera when he has said no such thing.

Even people who would honestly say that they are against illegal immigration weill laugh about the idea of keeping illegals out. It's hip.

And those same media Outlets don't even mention the Hillary Clinton ads featuring Trayvon Fucking Martin.

The labor unions who piss and moan about less and less good paying union jobs won't be able to find the balls dimension labor being done for a third of the Union rate by illegals.
