Daniel Jeremiah released a mock this morning after the trade and also has Wentz #1.

Whatever those two guys are hearing, they're both sticking to their guns.

It's not like the Rams really have to keep it a secret at this point, keeping my fingers crossed the Wentz rumors are true πŸ™‚

Not me I still in camp WENTZ...Unless we trade back...then prolly camp EZ Elliott.

    ..

  • What happens if Wentz goes #1 and the Browns dont draft Goff?

    I lol'ed..

I really don't care what they do at 2 if Wentz is off the board. I like Goff, Ramsey, Tunsil and Bosa. Just no Myles Jack, please.

  • I breath a sigh of relief

So much for your theory about these QBs not being first round worthy Gip. πŸ™‚ Though I think the Rams were positively nuts giving up that much to move to #1. If their QB pick busts, the Redskins fans will believe there is such a thing as Karma.

If they really like Goff, they'll draft him assuming Wentz goes to the Rams. Otherwise, it's trade down or take BPA.

I meant what happens to our idea of what Goff is/will be?

The rumors are the Browns really like Goff. T-Minus 2 weeks.

I've said I could live with either one. If they don't like Goff, I'm fine with a trade down to take Zeke Elliot- MHO is he's going to be a stud.

  • I just wonder if this trade was not for one of the QB's. It blows my mind the Rams would come out their pockets like this for one of those two kids. Just doesn't make sense.

  • If the Titians GM Jon Robinson was the real JoHn Robinson, LA would have had to thrown in OJ's White Bronco & that damn white horse at USC games too.. Before any GM in their right mind gives that much up for a non-Andrew Luck I am pretty damn sure the Rams talked to Browns also. Just wait for it..

Again, more of a publicity stunt to get the #1 overall pick to churn excitement for their return to LA than a committed desire to actually draft one of these guys.

  • I knew Tunsil wouldn't go #1.

Why are you against Myles Jack out of curiousity.

I've been meditating Gip. If the Browns had been sitting at #1, and this trade was offered to them- I take it in a New York minute. We get Ghoolie's fave Lynch, have three second round picks this year, plus an extra first and third in 2017.

  • welp, there goes my Goff dreams

meditating 😡. The only time that little Aggie Ass threw 2 bombs to Benji that were even close were the 2 that beat Titians.. Happy Meditating πŸ˜›. It should have been us & where are those 2 now.. Yep, It's Browns Football..

lol.... Not likely, but I'll keep an aspirin handy just in case...

    This draft got supercharged today...

RG3 will be a cripple and out of football by week 10. Don't be ridiculous.

which is why the Browns should stay at 2 and take Tunsil. "IF" someone wants to come out of their pockets for JT than we have the best OT prospect since JT as his immediate replacement. If not, JT plays out his contract and we have two of the best tackles in football protecting RG and maybe we can get some run game going off the right side.

  • Best comment I've heard today..

"It's about time Jeff Fisher improved the Titans" πŸ˜†

The wife doesn't believe me the Browns screwed themselves winning the Titans game. Except for strength of schedule, we would be sitting on 6 bonus picks right now. πŸ™

WTF? Dude, was your umbilical cord wrapped around your neck and not removed until graduation? What in the name of God kind of blockbuster deal do you see as possible? The Titans are the Kevin Costner of this Draft Day.

The questions to ask IF you want to shake it up are..................... WHO WANTS WENTZ? WOULD ANYONE CONSIDER JOE THOMAS?

Maybe #2 to #4 Dallas gets Wentz, we pray Bosa is there at 4? Then Trade Joe Thomas and #33 for 2 #2s this year, a number 3 next year, and David Goddamned Putney. We want Putney.

Sorry man, the Browns are going to get horse shit again. You can already hear DePodesta's calculator getting ready to blow.

Correct- the Rams moving up to #1 does sort of screw the Browns. But on the good side- if a team has the hots for a quarterback the Rams don't take- the dumb ass Rams just set the market for the #2 pick.

So Cleveland could trade down- and still take your fave Lynch. And trust me- he's not going in the top 5.

Memphis is the murder capital of the world. Disciplined players are a figment. This kid shredded Ole Miss,

Great point Ghoolie! Ole Miss was a signature win even Alabama couldn't accomplish. You've had some good posts about Lynch. I don't think some people GET the challenges Lynch was up against there in terms of how that school/tradition compares to others as a recruiting attraction. It's a big reason Memphis State just lost the football coach behind the success of the last 2 years for an easier school to recruit prospects for.

The only thing I'll caution you on here is your point that Goff holds onto the ball too long. Everything I've read/heard/seen indicates just the opposite. It might even be THE reason he gets drafted ahead of Wentz should that unfold IMO.

Anyway, someone recently praised Goff for steady improvement and rightfully so if we look at some important numbers:

    2013 1 Win 11 Losses 3508 yds 6.6 ypa 60.3 pct 18 TDs 10 INTs

    2014 5 Wins 7 Losses 3973 yds 7.8 ypa 62.1 pct 35 TDs 7 INTs

    2015 8 Wins 5 Losses 4719 yds 8.9 yds 64.5 pct 43 TDs 13 INTs

That said, this is what Lynch accomplished on the gridiron in between all the un-civil wars on Memphis gang turf:

    2013 3 Wins 9 Losses 2056 yds 5.9 ypa 58.2 pct 9 TDs 10 INTs

    2014 10 Wins 3 Losses 3031 yds 7.3 ypa 62.7 pct 22 TDs 9 INTs

    2015 9 Wins 4 Losses 3776 yds 8.5 ypa 66.8 pct 28 TDs 4 INTs

I know a lot of people have praised Goff for what he's done up against what he's been surrounded with. That's fine but it isn't like Memphis has been attracting much help around QB. The only offensive player I can think of that has gone on to enjoy a long career after Memphis State was DeAngelo Williams. Cal had more guys just on the Cleveland Browns with Pro Bowl Center Alex Mack and PFF's favorite Right Tackle Mitch Schwartz. There's other former Cal players that have experienced NFL success in recent years like Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch, Keenan Allen and Justin Forsett just off the top of my head.
