The brothers Grimsby review

I generally like the shock type humor of Sasha baron Cohen so I'll probably give it a look in time
-
I've heard his name in connection with a project to play freddie mercury which I think would be an excellent casting
-
That could work. I don't think he's without Talent I just think that this particular garbage doesn't appeal to me. Some garbage does.

He pulled out of the freddie doc a while ago over creative differences. He wanted a freddie biopic from beginning to aids-hastened end, while the other queen guys wanted a queen biopic where freddie disappears halfway through and they go on to tell the story of queen after freddie.

My personal interest in Queen drops off quickly after Freddie's death. Extremely talented band and I'm sure they're very good without him but he is integral.
That said I certainly understand the rest of the band wanting to focus on themselves and their current careers.

What have they done, of note, after freddie?
Early man walked away as modern man took control. Their minds weren't all the same and to conquer was their goal. So He built his great empires and he slaughtered his own kind, and he died a confused man and killed himself in his own mind... -
Brian May played the national anthem on top of buckingham palace on his guitar for the queen's diamond jubilee. He also has a PhD in astrophysics or some such.
But musically, it seems they kid of died a death when Freddie, well...

I am not sure they have tried to write new material or come out with a new record.
Adam Lambert probably did as good of a job as anyone could duplicationg Mercury's vocal talents when they the tours with him.
But no. When the primary figure head of a band is gone, the band is gone.
It would be like as if the Rolling Stones had tried to carry on without Mick Jagger.

Say what you will about Jim Morrison and the talent of other members of The Doors, but there is no way for that band to have survived Morrison's passing.

Fair or not, that is the way it was/is.
Some folks transcend the band. Others are parts of the band. Sometimes it's fair; Sometimes it isn't fair.
Personally, I believe John Kay is a dick for the way he is treating former members of Steppenwolf but...........................what is Steppinwolf without John Kay.

Credence without John Fogerty?
