  • Very good job so far. Here is second chance saloon. A few questions as yet unanswered:

    1. Besides Coleman, Braylon Edwards, Derrick Alexander and Willis Adams, what 3 other WRs were drafted by the Browns in the first round?

    4. Besides Chris Rockins, what other Oklahoma St. player have the Browns drafted in the second round: Hint: Westside Steve's favorite player.

    9. What does this name signify: Carl Barisich

    10. What relevence do these names have to the Browns recent draft: Stan Humphries and Bubby Brister.

    11. Ogbah, Devalve, Kindred, Drango, Schobert, Kessler, Nassib.

There has been a previous Nassib play in the NFL, but no Devalve or Drango. What about the other names? Were there previous NFL players by those names?

Warfield for sure. Collins perhaps too.

    4. Besides Chris Rockins, what other Oklahoma St. player have the Browns drafted in the second round: Hint: Westside Steve's favorite player.

I was going to say Jerry Sherk ... but your hint leads me to say Johnny Manziel.

    9. What does this name signify: Carl Barisich

He was a defensive tackle that played for us in the 1970's. Not sure what you are going for though.

    10. What relevence do these names have to the Browns recent draft: Stan Humphries and Bubby Brister.

Drafted the same spot as Silk Kessler?

    11. Ogbah, Devalve, Kindred, Drango, Schobert, Kessler, Nassib.

There has been a previous Nassib play in the NFL, but no Devalve or Drango. What about the other names? Were there previous NFL players by those names?

    None that stick out.

  • #1...A pick I hated & forgot to mention...is one of 'em Bobby Crespino (from Mississippi, I think)?

    Jerry Sherk is absolutely right.

Sorry to be vague. I don't know of any other way to ask it than to be vague without basically giving up the answer. Maybe this is better:

Of course the theme is this current draft.......What does Barisich have in common with a Browns selectee in this draft?

    10. What relevence do these names have to the Browns recent draft: Stan Humphries and Bubby Brister.

Drafted the same spot as Silk Kessler? No. Again a semi tenuous connection to a current draftee.

    11. Ogbah, Devalve, Kindred, Drango, Schobert, Kessler, Nassib.

There has been a previous Nassib play in the NFL, but no Devalve or Drango. What about the other names? Were there previous NFL players by those names?

OK Mike....well, you just blew up that entire Trivia question with your answer.

You are absolutely right. This goes back to the terminology issue we have here on another thread. When I did my research for this question I was looking for players listed as WR's. But that is new terminology.

Crespino was listed as an SE.....or Split End

There were also a couple of more "Ends" drafted by the Browns in round one

    Rich Kreitling

Preston Carpenter.....though Carpenter played more at running back.

So, I am going to punt on this question.....and give the last guy: Steve Holden, (listed as a WR) is the other one.

  • Try again, last two questions:

    9. What does Carl Barisich have in common with one of the Browns current selectees?

    10. What is the tenuous relationship between Stan Humpries and Bubby Brister and one of our current draftees.

And I think I will punt on #12.

  • 9. What does Carl Barisich have in common with one of the Browns current selectees?

He's from an Ivy League school.

    8. The Browns took two players with the same last name in this draft: Coleman. When was the last time the Browns drafted two players with the same last name in the same draft?

Yes, just last year when they took Malcolm Johnson and Duke Johnson

Previous years since the mid 60s where Browns took two players with same last name:

2002 Andre Davis WR and Andra Davis LB!! Remember them?

1991 James Jones and Todd Jones

1962 Charley Mitchell and Bobby Mitchell.

    9. What does this name signify: Carl Barisich.

He is the ONLY player other than now Seth Devalve to be drafted by the Browns out of Princeton in their history. And by one measurement he has been the best player to ever come out of Princeton to have played in the NFL. (but he had only an 18 Career Production Average....hopefully Devalve can easily surpass that.

    10. What relevence do these names have to the Browns recent draft: Stan Humphries and Bubby Brister?

Both come from same school as draftee Trey Caldwell: Louisiana Monroe.

    11. We drafted player by the names of: Ogbah Devalve, Drango, Kessler, Kindred, Nassib, and Schobert.

Which of these names have never had another player by that name play in the NFL in history?

ONLY Nassib had another player by that last name ever play in the NFL....and that was Nassib's brother....a QB out of Syracuse.

As they say on the Game of Thrones: for these other, these are the first of their names to play pro football.

Some names were close. Like Schubert, and Ogbanya.

    12. Since 1936, 42 players have been drafted by the NFL out of North Dakota and North Dakota St. How many were QBs (before this year).

Not a one. Wentz will NOT however be the first QB to play in the NFL out of a North Dakota college. See this guy, Randy Hedberg, out of Minot St. Played one year in NFL, went 0-4 as a starter:
