The "Sandusky Husky"He plays with the burning anger of 30 molested boys...

It's a draft deep in DE's, or he would have gone in the second round.
Right down the list - the Browns NOW have criteria that includes
love for the game, and kick-ass football player.
The Browns drafted players that will put a worry into other teams...both offense, and defense.

Love the pick. He plays with passion & that "walk on" chip on his shoulder.

Penn State Des are traditionally soft when they get to the NFL. I hope the kid does good, but for fuck's sake, he wasn't a "steal.
I think you're a bit hung up on Courtney Brown. Hali, Wake, even Odrick has carved out a contributing role.

How is Cameron Wake doing? Any better than Vernon Gholston? And how come? One guy had all his best football in the rear view mirror while the other had it ahead of him.
And what University of Buffalo LBer before Khalil Mack ever projected that would be a place to draft a game changing LBer? Not to worry, Farmer was well aware of that so he wasn't even considered by the Cleveland Browns at all. Smart? You tell me...
The Tedford Wives (QBs) were all draft day no no's until Aaron Rodgers right? That's not much different than the BYU system QBs like Gifford Nielsen, Robbie Bosco, Ty Detmer, Marc Wilson except for the reality that Jim McMahon and Steve Young also came out of BYU. 2 teams found the right guy. That said, Tampa had no clue they had the right QB because he was surrounded by quick sand so SF appreciated their crack pipe logic.
Speaking of Ray Farmer, rumor has it he was seen at the Kentucky Derby looking for his WR prototypes riding on the backs of horses in the race, not to be with confused with Coleman weighing 194 lbs at the same height as Antonio Brown. While I'm at it, did anyone enjoy reporting our problems out of the front office more frequently than the NFL Channel did constantly the last 2 years? Who hired Ray Farmer? The NFL Channel. You don't say! Gotta love the criteria there.
How many QBs before Ben Ridenwithoutahelmet were drafted into NFL stardom out of Miami of Ohio? How about Wisconsin before Russell Wilson? So Miss before Favre? Syracuse before McNabb? The only QB I can remember out of Delaware before Joey Bottaflacco was THE Rich Gannon who required about 10 years of training before he was anything special.
How about we all just understand you draft individuals who display those unique qualities you are looking for?
Nassib, with a lot of hard work, reminds me of Ted Hendricks. Those long levers and big hits were repeatedly jarring the football loose. Our secondary could really use somebody hurrying throws or preventing them altogether. I realize there are no guarantees but this sure looks like a fun kid to root for.

We agree on this guy Flugs:
From the survey thread I said:
"1. Two part: Which of the recent Browns draftees do you think will have the best career ultimately

Time will tell and I just want to have a reason to cheer or Sundays again. If we do that with all 7th round projected players; that is fine with me.

Former Bengal DL Devon Still would be another Nittany Lion Softee. Mike Brown kept him on the "practice squad" so as to not interrupt his medical benefits.
Still has always been an interior player. I was only referencing DE.

BINGO! Great point T!
Here's where this gets interesting. I once posted that Michigan bulls-eyed Courtney Brown's olay (swim) move when they aimed their running game at him for lengthy scoring drives to key their way to victory. I thought if one matchup could exploit his vulnerability against the run coming at him - I was sure some NFL teams would rather exploit his vulnerability than feed his backside clamp downs. A lot of Courtney's tackles for losses college and pro came via backside clampdowns when olines reach blocked to playside leaving him untouched/unchallenged. Those that would hinge off the backside prevented the give-me's for Courtney. Anyway, I said Arrington looked like the more sure thing and Ghoolie's buddy Rich4eagle said "no way, Brown is a sure thing." Guess who chimed in with "only a fucktard can't see Brown is the real deal?" The same guy who doesn't want us reminding him Joe Thomas has an inventory of 9 Pro Bowls in 9 seasons. I know some think the knee injury prevented Brown from succeeding but he was struggling before the knee injury against the point of attack. You know what else? Jamir Miller gave us a Pro Bowl upgrade off the edge the first time he was asked to play with a hand down here, which was when we lost Courtney to injury. That begs the question was Courtney Brown ever worth the 1st overall pick? Hell no!
Lucky for him Jamir tore his achilles the very first preseason game of the next year up in Minnesota so Courtney got more chances to be average at best.
