Quarterbacks that moved to WR

The Browns Board

  • ^ That one play pretty much sums up Johnny's stint with the Browns...... Lots of noise, with results that actually sent us backwards.

Johnny did have this shining moment. shame that it was totally illegal.

Lol forgot about that one very cool.
  • Here is a list of some of the best players who switched from being a college QB to being an NFL WR:

Hines Ward. Probably the best of the bunch...could be HOF at WR

Josh Cribbs. More noted as kick returner than WR....but could play.

Julian Edelman. A go to guy for Tom Brady

Antwan Randle El. Decent player at WR.

Gene Washington. A favorite target of John Brodie with 49ers.

Matt Jones. Off field issues curtailed what looked like a decent hybrid slot receiver/TE.

Brad Smith. More of a poor man's Josh Cribbs

Marlin Briscoe. This guy was allowed to play QB while black long before it became commonplace, but he was better when he switched to WR.

Hopefully Terrelle Pryor can make the switch successfully. And of course we will keep our eye on Braxton Miller here as well.

Bert Emanuel was a pretty good one for Atlanta.

  • Kordell Stewart aka "Slash"... kinda.

A college QB who was a decent receiver his first two years, before going back as a full time QB.

Stewart could have become one the most elite players in the NFL had he stuck to his slash role... quarterback/wide receiver/running back/emergency punter, he was an amazingly versatile player... already doing TV commercials as Slash,....but nooooo, this fool insisted on playing full time QB, boasting he would someday be in the HOF.

    What a dick.

  • Ryan Tannehill moved from HS QB to A&M's best WR and then back to QB before being drafted by Miami. If it doesn't work out as QB, he could switch again.

I am not sure he would count as he did continue to play QB. He didn't convert full time. But yes, he was very good in that role.

I had long forgotten about the Brodie/Washington combo.. They were two of My fave players as a youngster.

Wrong. Kordell made it clear he wanted to play QB full time. Didn't like the "Slash" role.

If Cowher did anything wrong it was giving in to his demand.

Stewart predicted he would someday be a HOF quarterback.

    Sorta like this idiot...

  • What is up with the Terrelle Pryor? Is it Cocky, WR Swag or the new Confidence Hue is looking for out of his WR group? Hell it just could be me? But, Rumors daily that TP has been "flashing" at OTA's. Hell, we are not even in pads yet. But when you get quotes out of Pryor such as "Going to Beat up on some corners" & "Anytime I get the ball in my hands, something special is going to happen." Hartline's was shown the door. Are we sending a message to Gordon too? I get swag & confidence but what is Terrelle Pryor thinking as a 1 catch wonder?

  • Football players aren't that smart. Don't sweat it.

There is a penalty called if any personnel are within 5 yards of the sideline between the 30 or 40 yard lines, that middle part of the field... I guess it has something to do with substitutions or something...
