Correct me if I am wrong but I heard that Martavis Bryant was suspended for the season due to his drug or PED issues, no?

He missed tests so they are listed as failed tests. He checked himself into treatment for depression. We drafted Sammie Coates to cover for a potential suspension/problem with Bryant.

You drafted Limas Sweed to cover for Hines Ward when he was out. It doesn't always work out. (Antonio Brown was pure dumb luck)

The Steelers will be in the AFC championship game, and I will be anyone who wants to bet that the Steelers get more production, attention and highlight films out of their draft than the Browns.

Hate the fucking Steelers all you want, but they are one of the best franchises in the history of the NFL.

Why should that be mutually exclusive....you can hate them and recognize that they have been a great franchise....for half of their existance.

They have surpassed the Browns in their accomplishments, historical contribution, championships, players, fan satisfaction, head-to-head competition against the Browns, knocking Browns players the fuck out and intimidating them.

They have never had a player as good as Jim Brown.

They have never had a player as good as Otto Graham.

They have never had a wide receiver as good as Paul Warfield

They have never had a Tight End as good as Ozzie Newsome

They have never had offensive Tackles as Good as Lou Groza, Dick Shafrath, or Joe Thomas

Now...have they had good players...even HOF at some of those positions? Sure

And they have certainly had better defensive players over the time.

They will sweep the Browns the next 4 years in a row. Hue will never beat the Steelers and will be fired after 2 years at the most.

Why don't you put up like $5000.00 in escrow with me for that time....and if it doesn't come true, I will distribute those funds to the most regular members of this board pro rata. If it does come true, you get your money back plus the interest on the account. Fair deal?

Except in his limited opportunities Coates has already succeeded and in playoff games.

Edit: and brown being "dumb luck" may hold water if we didn't also have other later round recievers having a great deal of success. Want to run the list? Brown (who you mentioned) Emmanuel Sanders, Mike Wallace (even tho he did nothing outside Pittsburgh) Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton. I wont mention Coates until he hits the field in a expanded capacity this season. All under Colbert and Tomlin. I'd say it's more than "dumb luck".

OK, its may not be dumb luck....but it is good luck. They could have all turned out like Limas Sweed.

Or....to be more accurate, what it is, is Ben Roethlisberger. They all don't play all that well when he is not in there.

don't bet on it because there will probably be a few times where the steelers will bench their starters because they clinched the title or a playoff berth where they cannot improve their position so they will play their 4th stringers and lose. You will see the clown fans basting in their glory with their 4-10 record beating a team playing their 4th stringers...always happens...

Hue will split with the Stoolers this year. As usual, you are wrong.

Bruce gradkowski is much better than Landry Jones. All draft picks have a luck factor but the steelers are better receiver evaluators than probably every team in the league.

As offensive coordinator in Cincy, his game planning produced 1 victory vs. Steelers.

He lost to the Steelers 4 times.

Exactly, now he's the Head Coach and those numbers will change....... and you root for a rapist. But I guess as long as he's good on the field, that's all that matters.

You probably root for Penn St and Baylor too?

We know how that goes Vag. I believe Gordon got dinged for the same reason.

  • On paper I have to agree with VK... enough holes were blown in the Cinci Offense to doubt that they continue to be the most complete team in the AFCN in 2016.

While the Steelers did not improve by leaps and bounds, they may have done enough to wrest that "title" away. Despite a Defense-heavy draft, at this point they remain a team that will rely upon looking to outscore opponents... something I can see them doing so long as their starters remain healthy.

    Weak.

I know some of you will hang your hat on this forever. It got thrown out, the case files are public record. It never saw a court room and never will. Now with that said Ben was a semi sleezy dude at one point with lines of chicks heading his way but he's no rapist. He's married with two kids and he cleaned up his act just like he cleans up in Ohio.

I think the steelers will improve a great deal defensively if the d stays healthy. They just invested in the secondary like they did the offensive line. Pouncey is back.
