  • Was fought when British soldiers were sent to find stashes of gunpowder and muskets.

  • Indeed it was, but history is meant to be forgotten or re written.... 🙁

  • Well done mate. I as you can probably tell, I'm Australian as well. Andrew did a good job explaining our laws, and to many of your viewers, they may seem over the top, but we have no choice in the matter. I've been involved in shooting since I was 9, shooting crows with a pea rifle and have held a license since I turned 16, legal in those days. I'm now 59. I was brought up in a rural setting, we owned a farm but lived in town. We were brought up with firearms and the bolt action was king, even in those days. They were a tool. I fired the Lithgow SLR during my service, prior to Vietnam, only to find out that the M16 was to be used there, a semi-auto rifle I hated then and still hate the buggers today, (back to the SLR) similar to the green furnitured rifle Andrew shot near the end of the vid abt

. except, from what I could see that looked like an FN (Belgium from memory) manufactured rifle. Our rifle had a longer barrel and flash suppressor fitted. Andrew was probably too young to truly remember them, so it is hard to be critical. The unfortunate thing about our firearms laws is the fact that some of our police think it is another reason to really harass people....... for the wrong reasons. Personally I haven't had a problem. They come for an inspection, as soon as they see the Sharps 45/120 and ogle over it, paw it and glare at me, lol, all is good. Our conservative government of the day thought that their actions would stop the crazy people and the crims getting weapons, foolish people. How wrong they were, but the keen still get their licenses and shoot. I've always taught my kids that along with their individual rights come responsibilities and to maintain their rights, they MUST honour their responsibilities. Firearms are exactly the same. If you want the right to own a firearm, your MUST honour your responsibilities for the use of and the ownership of that firearm. Their response to the personal protection query was," That's why we have Police." And that was it..... GEEZ! Even today, our current Federal Government, a conservative government, is trying to disarm ALL Australians, regardless, but unless you know who to ask, nothing is said about it. Inquiry in progress this day. Why don't we hear about it? Rupert Murdoch, saviour of the lying Abbott government, isn't publishing it and has threatened the other news outlets that they'd suffer the consequences if the did. Murdoch is a real mongrel mate, he's a legal liar, remember that he went to the US Supreme court and was given the right to print and spread lies in his newspapers and TV programs under the freedom of speech rights of the US. If you believe what Murdoch press and news say, then you believe in the Tooth Fairy and Chicken Little. As a closer, here's something very few people know. Under the Australian Constitution (housed in England), WE HAVE NO RIGHTS as you do in the US, we instead have "responsibilities and privileges", that's it, no Bill of Rights... Nothing! But we survive, and we're pretty cool, once you get to know us, lol. All the best young fella!! Enjoy your vids, enjoy your remote company. May the 'Big Fella' keep an eye on ya mate... Hooroo.

  • I can't imagine a corrupt government would want to disarm its citizens to prevent them from fighting back
