As someone said, Perhaps addition by subtraction. McCown was being pressured up the middle all day because Erving could not contain the very average or below DTs that were in front of him. (the exact opposite of what Flacco faced...he had NO pressure in his face at all, and MCC had pressure in his face all day).

And did you see what he did on the play in which he got hurt? It is laughable, really. He was running down field and instead of blocking the guy in front of him he did a full body lunge and landed square on his face. It was cartoonish. The guy he was trying to block just stepped aside like he was a matador, allowing Erving to go splat. Erving was totally responsible for his injury as he didn't even touch the guy, not one bit.

It reminded me of someone on a Madden or something trying to make a big tackle and just aiming in the wrong direction - goes flying, lands flat on his face.

        McCown, Erving, Nassib.

Only with Nassib do we have a reliable backup: John Hughes.

I guess that Greco takes over at OC....and BAiley moves in at RG? Is that the order of things.?

Of the 3 injuries, this one hurts us the least.

Can't imagine it'll be that hard to get the same production as Erving, which is barely anything at all.

              Perhaps a hopeless thought..

Tour, is there anything positive about Erving's performance this year to build on for the future?

Shon is a RT and to my knowledge was dealing with some nagging injuries that cost him in camp and pre season.

To be honest when we drafted a tackle in the third round I kinda expected him to be challenging for the starting spot by now. Hopefully the injuries are just coincidence, and not a thing with him.

My guess would be a strength issue with Shon that shows in run blocking... possibly injury carryover related.

i hope he recovers from his injury, gosh, no one wants someone hurt on purpose so a replacement can come in and try to do better but erving is terrible, he was god awful last yr at the guard position and he is terrible at center. Hope he gets well soon though...

I think he is at best backup material, unless he vastly improves beyond what it appears that he is capable of.

We got this guy off the redskins PS to back up center. They've kept him on the PS for two seasons, maybe he becomes a player down the line.

Absolutely not. I predict the season does not play to Hoyle and Greco becomes a fixture at center.

If the season plays to Hoyle, Greco snaps his leg on the first play and this guy who has never taken a snap is separating Suh from Kessler.
