The assault on religious freedom by America's LGBT bullies continues in Memphis, Tennessee, where an all-boys Catholic school is being sued for $1 million by a former student because they wouldn't allow him to bring a same-sex date to the homecoming dance last year.

Filed in September, the suit on behalf of Lance Sanderson claims Christian Brothers High School (CBHS) caused this LGBT snowflake to "suffer severe injuries and damages which include, but are not limited to disability, past and future emotional distress, past and future medical expenses, and personal care services."

Though CBHS took a major hit in the national spotlight last year when Sanderson became an SJW media sensation, the school ultimately stuck to its Catholic principles by refusing Sanderson his request for a same-sex homecoming date.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that "under no circumstances" can homosexuality be approved, and for the school to allow Sanderson a same-sex homecoming date would be a violation of that teaching, which CBHS publicly defended.

For unknown reasons, Sanderson was eventually suspended from CBHS, finishing out his senior year courses at home, resulting in his acceptance at DePaul University where he is now a freshman. He openly states the lawsuit has less to do with recompense for alleged injustice on his behalf and more with clubbing Catholic schools into acquiescing their beliefs.

"I hope they don’t do this to anyone else in the future and that other schools that try to abide by similar philosophies don’t do this to their students. I really don’t want anyone else to go through what I went through this year," he told reporters.

Sanderson says this as he attends DePaul University, the same one that banned conservative activists Milo Yiannopoulos and Ben Shapiro from speaking to students, lest they should shatter their snowflake sensitivities.

"Tolerance for thee, but not for me," says the leftist.

"For unknown reasons, Sanderson was eventually suspended from CBHS"

I'd like to look into that statement

He could have taken a dude. So it wasn't anything religious at all if they were willing to let him take a dude so long as it was a fellow student. The guy wanted to bring a dude from another school which is in violation of school policy. I hope they toss the lawsuit out. Has zero to do with the kid being gay.

So not a homophobic case or some attack on religious freedom. More like a contract law case.

A private religious school can set the standards they want. No student is being forced to go, that is a choice decision and Catholic schools get no tax payer funding so King Obama cannot give out edicts that confused boys can shower with the girls. For legal purposes the school may use the argument the boy is from another school but I highly doubt if that school would condone bringing a gay date of any boy as it goes against church teachings.

all these idiots want to insist on being a "victim" so they can win the "lottery" in court.

in this case, he'd have a better chance at winning $$$$$$ if he jumped out in

front of a car and pretended to get hit as he whacked the side of the car with his hand.

                $1M holy shit.

He probably won't win, but if he does I'm going to regret not trying to take a guy to my old high school's homecoming.

The kid signed on to the school and was open about being gay from the start. And the contract with the school that the family signed along with the school, would have not excluded him from bringing one of the boys from the school to the dance. If they breached their own contract, I could get why the kid would have some legs under the lawsuit.

I think it would have. The easier argument though is just making the case the boy was from another school which is clearly stated which is why the school is using that argument. What also are in the same contract are the school follows Catholic teachings and that also is being signed on to by those who attend Catholic schools. I know of some non Catholics who attended our local Catholic schools and were not happy with some of the Catholic teachings however they knew this was their choice to send their children to Catholic school and that was the price to be paid if they wanted to send their children to that school and that absolutely is the school's right as a private religious school. Of course the reason they were sending their children to the Catholic school was they wanted the best education which they knew their children would receive at the Catholic school vs. the public schools. When our schools are graded in our county it is the Catholic school which is always at the top of the achievement lists with the smaller county schools under them and way at the bottom is our city schools.

A private school that does not receive any federal funds is pretty much free to set up the policies they want as someone who does not agree with a policy is always free to leave. A private school does not have to cater to certain students like a public school would.

Completely on board with this. No government aid = no government oversight.
