Jesus gone; Hogan to active roster

The Browns Board

  • No sure I am a huge fan of this move. Having two rookies at the most important position is basically saying tank the season.

  • Sooner or later we need a look at Hogan. Seems he's earned the right to get in the queue...

CBJ is still a phone call away...

  • It's a good move. If Kessler can't go this week, see what Hogan can do.He played for Pep Hamilton one season at Stanford, so they know each other. Plus, McCown is close to being healthy, we don't need CBJ and McCown on the active roster.

  • This isn't the last we've seen of Clipboard Jesus. Once McCown, Kessler or Hogan inevitably get hurt, CBJ will be back. He was meant to be a Brown.

  • Whatcha gonna do when Hulk Hogan mania runs wild on you brother? Say your prayers, eat your vitamins and throw touchdowns yeaaaa

  • If CBJ got himself an injury settlement then I don't think he can come back?

  • I think Hogan and Kessler are better qb's than Whitehurst - he has a history of being

    inconsistent, and making bad decisions.

Has a big time arm, seems to lack pocket awareness or something maybe. Besides, he looks like a biker. LOL

Hogan and Kessler can play. The Browns seriously have a great chance at their first win vs the titans.

    I'd forgotten that...

    • So Jimmah has made a QB pick...
    • Hue has made a QB pick and picked an FA...
    • And Pep has made a choice...

Will be interesting to see who our FO comes up with when they finally pull the trigger.

    Fixed that for you.

  • no, that isnt correct. They will win at least one other game - vs the squealers.

take it to the bank. Unless they don't have any qb's left to play....

  • Signing CBJ in the first place was comical at best. Kevin Hogan should be the starter so the Browns can set a record for single season QB's. At least we have something to look forward to. Letting Kessler get healthy is a good idea. Letting McCown heal is important also. I just can't see starting Josh until he's 100%. He's a real gamer but what's one more game.

Here's my depth chart for week 6: Hogan, Kessler, McCown

    Hogan is not starting.

  • How come Hogan isn't starting?

Kessler and McCown are both practicing this week.

  • Draft expert Dane Brugler of NFLdraftscout.com had Hogan ranked eighth among QBs in the draft, with Kessler 17th. He projected Hogan to the fifth or sixth round and Kessler to be signed as a free agent.

"Prototypical size and build for the position,'' he wrote of Hogan in his draft guide. "Indestructible body type to bounce off physical collisions, exuding determination as a scrambler ... high RPMs on his short-to-intermediate passes ... can rip it while on the move, adjusting his throwing platform ... hyper-focused and gutsy in the pocket, not allowing pressure to disrupt his progressions.''

    Give him a shot!

  • Hogan is my BOY! I can't believe it, I hope we get to see it. Hogan has been on the PS and we didn't get to see him in Preseason, unknown- I hope it's a gem! We've been digging a long time.

I like your enthusiasm, but Kessler is progressing along nicely and Hogan was already cut from the team that drafted him.

I think we are going to stick with Cody if he can go, we hand-picked him over Hogan and many others.

Just to be devil's advocate (I'm not expecting much of of Hogan myself) the Chiefs did have like 2 developmental QBs on the team at the time, Tyler Bray and Aaron Murray. They had also signed Nick Foles, so they had to get rid of someone. They may have intended to sign him to the PS before the Browns signed him.
