Larry Nichols worked in Arkansas state government and got canned by Bill in 1988 for making 600 long distance phone calls to the Contras. Nichols has since tried to get back at them. He made a movie in '94 about them and has desperately tried to stay relevant since.
He has never been a green beret. He was the Clintons marketing director when Bill was governor of Arkansas. He used to make a living writing jingles for commercials.

To be fair The National Enquirer usually reports on fairly Solid Ground. The myriad failed lawsuits against them are a testimony to their accuracy. They aren't really the weekly world news.
