Sure, I imagine the people of Cleveland like it the way it is and don't want a sudden influx of quinoa outlets and organic civet coffee shops. TBH that stuff annoys me in London, but I couldn't imagine living somewhere that doesn't have excellent public transport, and where I can't decide on any night of the week to go and do pretty much anything and it'll be happening somewhere.

Ohio is one of only like seven states with a population of more than 10 million. Cleveland accounts for a large chunk of that with the metropolitan area clocking in at somewhere around 3.5 million. That makes it a fairly big city. I'll just assume you've never been here.
