Browns 1986 reunion

The Browns Board
4 4 332
  • was watching the news - they showed the 1986 Browns. Marty said he would go out and

be working on the sidelines if he was able ....

Ernest Byner said that the Browns LOVED Marty. He also said that the Browns back then,

they loved each other. They hung out together, went to each other's homes, helped raise

    each other's families -

it shows that the Browns then were all on the same page - the same kind of guys. They

    believed in each other.

Brian Brennan said he was the best coach he ever had. They LOVED Marty and each other -

they were great friends on and off the field.

Football is the ultimate team sport, imho. You coordinate all these guys on a team - it's

a challenge. What does NOT work, is having prima donnas, slackers, egotistical bastards,

lazy bums, and fatass $$$$ is all that matters slugs.

You have them on your team - it doesn't matter that most of the team really want to win..

    it's often hopeless.

Josh Cribbs has spoken about this stuff - he's said in the past that some guys didn't care,

weren't team players, didn't do the work, didn't take it seriously.

The current Browns are finally on the right track - they have coaches they love, they are

a bunch of guys who are friends on and off the field - they have fun being on the field, practicing,

    playing football.

The Browns are now a team that is FUN TO WATCH. They can move the ball vs

any team in the league. The defense needs secondary help - the offense needs oline help,

and i don't know what special teams need to stop the nonsense penalties.

Congrats to Marty and the Browns players - that's a special thing - to get together after

    all these years.

I don't care, never have, about guys who are the fastest, jump the highest, etc - if they

didn't have the work ethic, character, and love for the game - they don't help you make

    a TEAM.

For too long, the Browns used dto draft guys who did NOT FIT - regardless that they

were very, very well suited in physical ability. If you don't have the right criteria

to get guys on your team that fit, get along, work hard, and want to win and go to

the superbowl - you won't get there. Finally, on the right track.

    Congrats, 1986 Browns. Congrats, Marty.

  • Maybe they show lots of highlights from 86. It's about the only good football that'll be shown

    Well done!

  • I was at the game, and the halftime with the guys from '86 was special.

I really don't like to say I "hate" anyone... but after watching the '86 reunion I can confirm that I hate Art Modell.
