democrats - experts at using the nazi card
-
So you think Ann Coulter is a mainstream Republican who could hold office? Or is she sort of, like, in the same boat as Michael Moore. Just some fucking talking head.
-
Here's a bit of an interesting read. As it turns out, snakey politicians will do anything to further their own cause regardless of which side they're on. So, you know, a lot of politicians have made baseless accusations that their opponents were Hitler, or nazis, or whatever. I know, I know, it's shocking but you were alive for the last six months so I'm sure you must have heard that unlike all the other, former Hitlers, Donald Trump is actually literally Hitler.
-
Nobody was calling Jeb Bush Hitler, or Ted Cruz Hitler, or Kasich, or Carson, or Rubio. Backwards, maybe, but not Hitler. Then along comes someone legitimately suggesting that an entire religion be registered (and as cal will tell you, registration leads to elimination...), barred from entry and the rest. You have german people en masse saying 'don't elect Trump, he's frighteningly reminiscent of Hitler'.
Now I'm pretty certain Trump is saying most of those things just to rile up the base and isn't actually the reincarnation of Hitler, but it's not a trivial case of 'I don't like this person therefore Hitler' like pretty much every other case.
-
it isn't about conservatives doing it too.
I've done it once in a long while, and some libs raised anger and offense about it.
but let a lib do it, you get silence, a change of subject, and a grand liberal "haha".
It's about hypocrisy, not about who done it.

The last Republican president was pretty friendly toward immigrants as I recall and I suppose if you wanted to take the time and do a Google search for George W bush Hitler you'd find quite a few hits.

Hitler was the leader of a military government which led to the death and suffering of untold millions. I think it's foolish to compare any of the US presidents today to him, regardless of whether you're on the political right or left.

Well this is obviously false equivalency. Hitler's dad didn't participate in the assassination of a US president. Crazy libs.

If I may resort to the typical tag that's typical liberal reaction. Nobody ever said Ted Cruz father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. What they did say is that he was hanging around with Kennedy's assassin no more no less. If Hillary's father had been photographed in the same room with Charles Manson it would be just as big a deal and would not, of course, mean that he helped with the Sharon Tate murders.Well this is obviously false equivalency. I was being sarcastic, my man. No need to go all the way up to 100.

The point was some people actually were comparing him to Hitler.

I don't think anyone would deny that. But the topic of the post was that Democrats/Liberals/Leftists overuse the Hitler card, but Republicans/Conservatives/ Right do the same thing to politicans they don't agree with either. Hypocrisy isn't mutually exclusive to the political left.

He's my friend but I don't think he's close to the mainstream as far as thinking that Hillary and Obama are the second coming of the Third Reich. Or the first coming of the fourth Reich. Or the third coming of the Robert Reich.
Let me see your papers gag is pretty much the mantra of the left as if asking for identification was a trait of the Nazis. Got it?

Those three months were "once". The previous ten years might contain
another month here or there. My point stands, your interpretation is faulty.

That is not true. I haven't done it once for weeks. I think.

Yeah I covered that like ten posts ago. I didn't make this thread.

The point is, NOT that both sides do it...
but that the dems are experts at it, because they
have been doing it far longer.
1964....
"During the 1964 Goldwater/Johnson presidential race, Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater accepted an invitation to visit an American military installation located in Bavaria, Germany. On “CBS Evening News,” hosted by Walter Cronkite, correspondent Daniel Schorr said:
“It is now clear that Sen. Goldwater’s interview with Der Spiegel, with its hard line appealing to right-wing elements in Germany, was only the start of a move to link up with his opposite numbers in Germany.” The reaction shot — when the cameras returned to Cronkite — showed the “most trusted man in America” gravely shaking his head. When Goldwater accepted the Republican nomination, Democratic California Gov. Pat Brown said, “The stench of fascism is in the air.”

I'll just take that as a "yes, I retract my statement" and move on with my day.
