Prescott is struggling here

This Vikings defense are constantly in the Dallas backfield and so Prescott has taken off for a first down. Brilliant to watch

I've never heard as much meltdown after a loss as I did on sports radio tonight. "Dak can't throw down field." Sound like a rookie QB on our team?

He didn't lose and the first TD was set up by a long pass downfield so wtf were they smokin'?

Now I've never claimed to be an expert but did anyone just see what Sam Bradford did there on third down?
No pressure but dumped it off anyway. Makes no difference to the punter where they were.
Why would he do that??
What a game! I think it was Bill Polian who nailed it on NFL insiders... along the lines of:
The Dallas offense has not faced a Defense as good as the Vikings. They are easily a top three defense and they produce turnovers. If they do vs. Dallas, who has been very good at not turning the ball over, then Dallas will struggle, the game will be close and Dallas is built to protect a lead.
Bill went on to talk about the key for MN being its CBs ability to match DAL's WRs one-on-one, freeing the Vikes to stack the box and stop the Boys' running attack.

I thought the announcers explained it well. Bradford, who I think played a near-great game, simply did not force a throw. Instead he simply took what was there and if it did not work, which it did not more than once, left the Vikes to punt and put their strong D in the best position possible to get the ball back. It's been Minnesota's MO the entire year in thirds and long. Look what happened in Dallas' one short-field opportunity after the fumbled punt... instant TD. In short: it was the Vikes' playing to their strength.
Unfortunately the Vikings' punter chose last nite to post a career bad game. Add the fumbled punt and their STs pretty much gave the game to Dallas.
Note the difference in Bradford's play with the game finally on the line... he took some shots downfield in that final drive including that brilliant throw (and even better catch by Thielen) while bailing to his left out of a collapsing pocket. On the previous series, IIRC, there was the slight overthrow of Charles Johnson up the right sideline.Prescott is struggling here
... vs. the league's #3 D... that controlled one of the league's top rushers. But Dak also made key plays with his legs helping to win an ugly game... so there's that.
The kid is simply unflappable. He may have struggled, but he never lost his poise... which he has in abundance... especially for a rookie. I think that his greatest asset. Quite honestly, it is what I saw surge in him in his Senior season at MSU that earned him my QB, darkhorse slot for 2016.Being how I hate running QBs this'll get me razzed big time, but one QB I like is Dak Prescott.
Loved his guts and his size the last couple years, but not much else. This year the twice I've seen him, it looks like:
- his mechanics are vastly improved;
- his running is down; and
- he's taking much better care of the ball... yet to throw an INT this season.
Comparisons are dangerous, but he has the look of a bigger Russell Wilson.lmao... Dak is my 2016 sleeper. The kid has made progress every year, but the leap he made in 2015 was really something.

Vikings' offense is predicated on getting rid of the ball QUICKLY. It's gotten them in some trouble, but the reason they do this is because they have the most OL injuries of just about anybody. Vikings had a good game plan, and really had chances to win that game. Their defense played very well, and didn't make it easy for the strong Cowboys.

Sorry, meant to say after a win.

First off, Bradford has to dump has to dump the ball quickly...his online is as bad as ours if not worse because of all the injuries. At least we still have it, their entire line are practice squad guys.
Second, that left tackle for Dallas....did anyone watch the battle between him and Mn LDE, who's one of the best pass rushers in football? Is it hunter? Anyway, that mn defense would hold us scoreless for 8 straight quarters that is no joke. And that d line would probably take out 2-3 of our qb's over that stretch. Isnt the o line coach there the same guy that was here under mangini?
