    One of the few times I like the position of the ACLU is their position on free speech. The way to counter hate speech or speech you don't like is not to try and shut it down but more speech. That is the right answer.

    The consequences can work both ways. Better just to ignore an idiot. Here is the example Chris gave:

    If some idiot was saying that in public I would ignore him and walk on by. Why would I care what an idiot has to say?
