LOL! Look at young Tom Brady at the 2000 combine... Man, goes to show that it's all about the work that you put in. All that matters is the love of the game, the body type, the arm strength, the accuracy and the wheels are all a good starting point but what really counts is- Is the player willing to put in the work necessary, are they willing to sacrifice their time and body to become great?

The X's and O's can be taught to one willing to learn... and in the NFL they will receive their master's degree in NFL offense and defenses.

    Too risky.

Yet, better than anyone else that has started any more.

Certainly it is a future investment. But I seem to remember the Cavaliers invested in a raw high school kid out of St. Vincent St. Mary.

If there is talent...there is talent....raw, inexperienced or not. You go for talent. Particularly where you need it.

I bet he slides and is there at 33.

I accept that bet. You are a Boston area guy. And a fish guy. My wife and I will be in Boston area early June. If MT is drafted before #33....you will pay for our seafood dinner there in Boston. I have my eye on the Chart House restaurant there on the Long Wharf. If he drops to #33 or beyond, I pay for yours. I am already going to be fed Mexican and Margaritas by Atenears if he goes before #10.

    What say you. 😮 😎

I'm sure we've all read stories about how the Browns would be interested in A.J. McCarron, but the fact remains that the Bengals don't historically trade within the division. I'm sure it's HAPPENED a few times, but I can't think of anything recent, and I'm struggling to think of any between them and the Browns. Would they REALLY want to take the risk of a division rival FINALLY getting their franchise QB? The only way I could POSSIBLY see a deal done is the Bengals being 99% sure A.J. completely sucks. Still, I don't see any chance of this happening. I'm not going to say whether or not the kid "sucks" or not, but I will say it's much easier to play QB for a playoff team, and I believe when A.J. played, the Bengals had winning records. Playing QB for the Browns is a COMPLETELY different story...as we all know.

Now, using that same logic, people will probably say, "Well if THAT'S true, why do you want Garoppolo?!" I want HIM because I liked him coming out of college. I liked his quick delivery, his accuracy, his ability to process information and get the ball out quickly. Getting the ball out quickly is the "money statistic" for QB's in my opinion. Guess who was basically LAST in the league at getting the ball from center to receivers? Tyrod Taylor. That's the biggest reason I don't see us going after him, and that's also the biggest reason I see us going whole-hog after Garoppolo.

I asked Uma--Oprah--Uma--Oprah to come up with a single instance of a trade between the Browns and Bengals. He has yet to name one...more or less one involving a QB.

In fact, the only player that I recall that played for both Browns and Bengals was Eric Steinbach.....and he was a FA. I am sure there are others....but off the top of my head I cannot recall any.

In fact....look at this link. In history as far as I can tell, no person has ever played QB for both the Browns and the Bengals:

jiggins---You and Gipper must share a brain cell as both of you seem to think other teams fear the brownies so much they won't trade with you. Truth is nobody cares about the Browns and nobody would fear a trade coming back to haunt them. You're irrelevant, right? Far more likely is McCarron would arrive in Cleveland and slightly upgrade the QB play for a year or two until Hue gets fired. Then a few years later everyone fades into obscurity ala a modern day version of Dick Shiner.

boo---I've repeatedly been told playing for the Browns is a completely different story. What that means is anyone guess, but Cutler to Cleveland is a chapter that simply must be written.

You are so fucking clueless it is becoming hilarious.

It isn't fear....it is just the way things operate.

If you don't understand that...there is no help for you.

You would rather lie when the truth would serve you better.

Why are YOU so anxious to get rid of McCarron. This is like the third time I have asked this question. Are you too craven to reply to that football question?

boo---I've repeatedly been told playing for the Browns is a completely different story. What that means is anyone guess, but Cutler to Cleveland is a chapter that simply must be written.

That won't happen. If the Browns wanted a mid 30s some QB who cannot win they just would have kept Josh McCown. They won't take Cutler, they won't take Romo. They won't take any of the over the hill gang. If they trade for someone, or go for a QB in FA...it will be a younger guy.

Taylor, age 27, Garropolo age 25. Glennon age 27, Foles age 28....something on that order. Not the 34-5 year old Cutler. They ARE looking for a QB of the future, not a QB of the past. It is why Griffin at age 27 is still highly in play

Surem even McCarron at age 26would fit into their age group....more than Cutler.

Gipper---You've written a dozen posts claiming intra division trades won't happen but you're too stupid to come up with a reason why. Initially you implyed it was because teams were too afraid of helping a rival but now you claim fear has nothing to do with it. Rather, you now say trades don't happen just because.

As for Cutler, I would have expected you to express some interest in him, but always using your familiar low ball ravings. Instead, without any prompting from me you admit McCarron would be a far better fit.

Next, I'm not anxious to get rid of McCarron and apparently neither are the Bengals. But by all accounts he is being offered in trade for the right price and if the Bengals can get their asking price I won't care a bit where he goes, including Cleveland. Because Cleveland is where careers go to die in higher paid obscurity.

Last, you mention RG3 is still very much in play in Cleveland. Myself, I have nothing to add to this, and only wanted to repeat it because it pleases me so much to do so. (RG3 is your future.)

That said, didn't your beloved Mary Kay write recently about the likelihood of the Browns releasing RG3 in March?

You are really, really incapable of reading the English language. Either that or you have short term memory loss. The reason why is simple...and was stated at the outset by me and any number of others here: Intradivision teams don't want to provide there rivals. with any help...at all. It may not be "fear" per se....but it is just gamesmanship. They don't want to give their rivals any possible advantage, edge, ergo, no intradivision trades.

Again....show me where one single trade has ever been made between the Browns and Bengals.

As for Cutler, I would have expected you to express some interest in him, but always using your familiar low ball ravings. Instead, without any prompting from me you admit McCarron would be a far better fit.

Why would I express interest in Cutler? It is just some fantasy of yours that I would do so.

Plus...it is as plain as the nose on your face that McCarron would likely be a better fit. Simply age and attitude makes him so.

But that does not mean I have any interest in McCarron, or that the Browns do. But he would be a better fit. If he played for a non AFCN team....chances of great interest in him would be much higher.

Would the Browns be afraid to make the trade for him? Not likely. But you are wrong on what you think the Bengals think.

Well then why dwell on McCarron coming to the Browns? I mean...unless and until it happens, just STFU about it. (and it won't happen because teams don't make intradivision trades)

Last, you mention RG3 is still very much in play in Cleveland. Myself, I have nothing to add to this, and only wanted to repeat it because it pleases me so much to do so. (RG3 is your future.)

He could be in play because Hue apparently likes him...and thinks he can do something with him. But not many here are high on his future. Too brittle. But he would not be the future. The Browns will acquire another QB, possibly with a high draft pick.

So, RG would be a stop gap...at best...in the opinion of most here.

That said, didn't your beloved Mary Kay write recently about the likelihood of the Browns releasing RG3 in March?

Mary Kay is a well known idiot who throws shit out there to see if anything sticks. Maybe a third of what she says/speculates sticks.

Oh, sure, it could happen. They could dump RG. But I have my doubts. And I doubt they do it unless they do pick up another young veteran QB.

Mike Brown has never made a single trade with the browns. Never, not once. History doesn't dictate the future, but it shows trends.
