It looks like Trump did the right thing in firing him but I didn't like how Flynn was illegally sabotaged by the Obama holdovers in government who only wanted to damage Trump by leaking out Flynn's speaking to the Russian ambassador. Ironically now it looks they may have done Trump a favor which is the last thing they wanted to do.

Not really. The FBI found nothing wrong with anything Flynn told the Russian ambassador. Flynn for some reason decided to keep his conversation with the Russian ambassador from the Trump administration resulting in Mike Pence going public with making false statements. So Trump fired him.
As this new story broke about Turkey it looks like other shoes were going to drop on Flynn so the Trump hating leakers inadvertently did Trump a favor.

Flynn was hired as a distraction. He was never meant to stay as NSA. This was a brilliant move on Trump's part.
