When I graduated from HS at age 17 within a few weeks I was working at a factory and had my own apt. Of course a big reason for that was being told I had to obey the "house rules" and pay rent while I was living at home. I put up with that for 2 long weeks lol...

  • well, they don't think anything is their responsibility, it's someone else's. Life to them, is a liberal fairy tale..

    with the emphasis on "fairy".

  • Stuart

How old is Woody? That might explain a lot.

  • Well we baby boomers didn't trust anyone over 30. Granted that was fifty years ago but....

  • I consider myself a kid at heart, even though I am 37 and have not lived at my parents since I was 19(minus a month when I was moving).

  • So I guess they shouldn't get to vote until 30 and have more skin in the game.

Im in my late 30's too but i consider that a "technicality" of the 3 dimensional space time continuum. "Technically" speaking a few decades have passed since i was 15 buuttttt......well you know.??

I wasn't being sarcastic haha. Act like big boys and girls then you can make big boy and girl decisions that effect everyone else.

Can that go both ways? Can clueless, senile old people not get to vote?

Now I will get responses on how I'm attacking old people, while this thread was started to go after youth. I hope when I'm older I avoid the 'your generation isn't as good as mine!" nonsense

  • I'm more than financially stable and house hunting right now. Just turned 25. I don't feel like I'd call myself an adult, though I technically am

You've offered up that opinion at least a few times before.

And I think I agreed if anyone who is senile shouldn't vote. Or illiterate or stupid. Probably destitute too.

Sure. At that point, they start getting as self interested at the voting booth as your average 19 year old who feels the Bern. "I know we are living to be 90+ but don't you dare adjust retirement age!"
