You know for a political party that wants people to have guns to protect themselves, they just opened a door that will allow more of your personal data to be given to the highest bidder.

  • Didn't you guys just GIVE the internet away recently?

  • Baffling that a guy would support that who just found out his microwaves were listening to him

  • Remember, if we register guns, it will lead to rounding up gun owners like Jews in the Holocaust.

No no no you have the wrong metaphor. Asking someone for identification is the same as Nazi Germany, remember?

Yeah, well, unless it's national Democratic party event like a vote on yer new dear leader or something. Then oddly enough, proper identification is required..

No I'm pretty sure I got it right. Especially in the context of this board. Where posters on here have actually said what I posted. Whereas no one here has said what you just posted.

Gee I guess you're right Woody. I was just on and email and I had a pop up from Amazon showing me a picture of the Surface Pro I was looking at recently. I agree with you.

Just like Storm Troopers kicking down the door. Exactly. Thanks for the heads up.

    😉

  • Never compared this to Nazis.

Compared the freakout of gun registration to the complete acceptance of no internet privacy from the same people.

You realize you can block that if you wanted to, usually a few clicks to enable? But if your ISP is able to sell your information, outside of using a VPN, you can't do anything about it.

  • The outrage!

Never really thought about it. Besides that I don't care a whole lot. What I do care about his phone solicitors but no amount of Do Not Call lists seemed to have an impact on them so...

    WSS

PS a Microsoft ad popped up in the CNN article. 🙂

Well that would be a good example, by enabling the different browser settings you could place yourself on a Do Not Advertise or Do Not Collect my data list. But the new ruling would remove that all together, allowing ISPs to gather and sell your data without consent or without a returned value to you.

Oh I guess that's possible but like I said I really don't care. Most likely something will get rearranged by the time it gets to the Senate so I'm not going to worry.

Even if I'd been inclined to before.

And keep in mind that even though do not call list exist today they do absolutely nothing.

    WSS

  • Do not call is worthless. Just like trying to hide your information. Anything public record can be found out on the internet.

  • Well there goes all my naked pictures. But seriously how is this any different than what's been going on?

  • Do understand this correctly? That google, etc etc would have the information, and all the other data

collectors weren't allowed to collect it, too?

  • You're fooling yourself if you think there's anything resembling privacy on the internet

  • im just surprised Trump of all people is like fuck ur privacy cunts.
