The "Taunting" Penalty
-
Without that rule it would be madness. But I do support a little taunting, no doubt.

well when players started doing the 'slit you throat' sign i think that's when it crossed the line. talking is talking but getting into someone's face or standing above them when you're knocked out deserves a 15yder all day long.

You can't point at anyone after a turnover? I'm pointing at the tv at the opposition so...

One thing I've learned in life.....there are a lot of stupid rules in life (football, at work, etc.).....but it's not because someone's staying up late at night trying to think of rules that'll piss people off. It's because too many people (workers, etc.) are doing something stupid which requires a stupid rule be put in place.

Then penalize THAT. Not pointing at shit.
I agree that the rules are too stupid right now.

Sure... if you're a teammate of the fumble causer, then you can point at him. And if you caused the fumble you can point back at the teammate pointing at you.
Point is the league is relaxing its No-Fun-League, anti-celebration move and I applaud that.
I also applaud any celebration of a player's successful play, including by that player. Don't step on joy!
But when that turns to celebrating the failure of the opponent AND that celebration is aimed at the opponent, then flag it.
Also overly orchestrated team/unit celebrations...

To Tour's point it is a proactive attempt to not let things get out of control and fights to break out more often than they do.
On a side note a players control "celebrating" shows me the type of discipline they have. And while it isn't a direct correlation to talent I think it often illustrates is a player is a "me" guy or a "we" guy. Pryor seemed like a "me" guy.

This has to be the biggest crybaby penalty ever invented. Millionaires getting their feelings hurt by an action from another player from another team?
Taunting = bullying .....whatever!
Pretty sure this isn't player driven. Just more No Fun League stuff."One said:

These days....sticks and stones may break your bones but words put you in therapy and suicidal on social media. It all started when they disallowed yelling "hey batter, hey batter, SWING!" in youth baseball. Heaven forbid little Johnnie toughen his azz up.
