Riddle me this:    did the Browns start out a series just once where they did NOT run Crowell up the middle for 1 or 2 yards or no gain.  Every single freeking time. The guys I was watching the game with commented on this to the effect of:   The last 10 times they ran that play on 1st down it gained nothing....but Hue continued to call it....like a stubborn old bitch.

If I were Haslam I would tell Hue that if he wants to stay as HC, he must hire an OC.  He have the OC playing his offense, but we need some fresh eyes on what plays to call for this offense.   Bad QBs are only at most half the problem.   It is bad schemes, bad play calling, inability to adjust.

It's not a riddle. He sucks.

As they say Gip, insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. Mentioned elsewhere, in OT the Titans were  stacking the box to stop the run & Hue just kept running Crow right into it. Ever hear of a three step drop and a quick out?

The people at the bar said the exact same thing.  Guess what's coming? Crowell up the middle for one to two yards,  just like the last 50 first down plays we've tried.

Then,  on cue.... Crowell up the middle for a gain of one.

I guess everuone has their own tolerance for how many times they are willong to hit their head against a wall before figuring out that the wall isn t going anywhere.

You guys were merciless in blasting me for calling for Hue s head before halftime of his first pre-season game. You thought I was nuts, but now, two years later you chime in with me.

Here is the thing, you guys tend to look at analytical stuff; the x and o stuff.

Conversely, I believe that the x and o stuff is very, very low on the scale of importance in building success.

For years, the Browns trademark has been dropped passes, penalties, and in general a disorganized effort.

A coach does not need years to correct this. He needs 1....count them....1 training camps.

Hue marched a team out that was  no different on an appreciable way than what he came in to. Add his idiotic decisoon making, lack of cpmmittment to the QB position, and honestly only a hpmer blonded by emotion could have ever believed Hue Jackson was gping to be successful.

He is as dumb as Romeo Crennel maybe dumber. He is oncapable of being a HC and should have been fired long ago.

Changing his first call of the game would not change anything. The HC positopn is above Hue Jackson's abilities.

All the other conversations about changing jis decisions is just mental masturbation. He is incompetent. Nothing will change that.

The Cleveland Browns have the hardest hit players in the NFL

I've said this, too, many times. Hue can't fool a defense, he's too busy protecting his project qb. Running on first down nearly all the time is worse than stupid. One time I noticed a pass on first down - was when he benched Kizer for Hogan. I suppose that means

he's hoping for a first down running the ball, so Kizer won't have to throw..? But it just keeps getting them into 3rd and longs.what ...the....hell? If you don't try to keep a defense guessing, you play right into their hands in any competitive game. Hue isn't learning that, or doesn't care.

I'll say it again - Kosar used to love to throw a bomb on the first play of the game, to get into the defense's heads.

Possessions started with four runs by Crow and six others, but "others" included two runs by Duke and one QB kneel down.

Series? Eight runs by Crow; Eighteen "other". And of the seven of Crow's runs seven were between the Tackles.

So the series tally is 7 of 26 or 7/26 or 0.26 or 26% of the time... tad shy of "every single freeking (sic) time." So there's that...

Here is every first down for the Browns, based on the link you gave, with the quarter and the time on the clock:

                  1st QTR:

8:38 Crow up the middle 3 yard

5:08 Pass to Louis 3 yards

3:38 Pass to Vitale 11 yards

2:19 Duke up the middle 2 yards

:27 Crow up the middle 2 yard

                  2d QTR:

12:11 Pass to Crow 15 yards

10:08 Crow up the middle 1 yard

                  1:37 Incomplete pass

                  :40 Incomplete pass

                  :30  Deep pass intercepted

                  3rd QTR:

15:00 Crow up the middle 1 yard

                  13:41 Pass Intercepted

                  9: 32 Kessler 1 yard run ...Penalty

                  9: 10 Crow  7 yard run

7:11 Pass to Louis 12 yards

                  6:39 Duke run 6 yards

                  4:44 Duke run 3 yards

                  4th QTR:

14:45 Duke up the middle 4 yards

13:34 Crow up the middle 2 yards

8:44 Crow up the middle 2 yards

7:30 Treggs end around 6 yards

4:17 Duke up the middle 2 yards

1:25 Duke up the middle no gain

                  0:17 Kessler takes a knee

                  OT:

10:00 Crow up the middle, no gain

7:30 Crow up the middle, no gain

The Browns had 26 first downs in this game......and on 15 of them they ran either Crow or Duke straight up the middle.....and on only 3 of those plays did they gain more than 3 yards....and those were for 4, 6, and 7 yards.   I guess if you want to be fuhucking pedantic about it, sure, it was not every single fuhucking time.....It just fuhucking seemed like it....and you should learn to go with the flow when someone uses some slight hyperbole on here...instead of being douchey about it.

When they tried passing on first down they had gains of 3, 11, 12, and 15 yards.  They had two incompletions....and two interceptions. Maybe the Ints were the reason Hue refused to pass.  But the fact is, they only tried a pass on 8 of their 26 first downs....and had success at least half the time. The two Kessler runs don't really count as one was a kneel down and one was a busted play due to a penalty on the defense.

i did notice late game we were still running crow up the middle on first down. it's too easy to guess that. Hue needs to mix it up, but being a head coach he has so many responsibilities. He needs to hire some help.

Not what you originally postulated... is it?

As a lawyer you should understand that words matter.

Also not germane? The efficacy of our 1st down passing.

Riddle me this:    did the Browns start out a series just once where they did NOT run Crowell up the middle for 1 or 2 yards or no gain.  Every single freeking time.

... on 15 of them they ran either Crow or Duke straight up the middle

Not what you originally postulated... is it?

As a lawyer you should understand that words matter.

Also not germane? The efficacy of our 1st down passing.

Yes, it is, actually.  Running up the gut on first down and getting nowhere is what I postulated.  Be it Crow or Duke. My next postulation is that you are a pedantic asshat. Refute that.

As a lawyer you should understand that words matter.

And if you want my legal opinion you can pay me for it.

                        I rest my case.

Your case is rested all right....right in the grave. Where do you get that it is not germane to include what the Browns did in the passing game on first down? The germane question is what did the Browns do on first down that was productive....running right up the gut...no matter who did it was not productive.  Only on 2 plays out of 15 did they gain 5 yards or more running it on 1st down.  They gained that or more on half of their first down passes....even if a couple were ints.

But, hey... you went thru the play-by-play to actually mine stats... congrats. Next time you'll know to do so first...

Sorry, but my life is not as boring as yours....and if I want to do research on a subject I will pick the subject on which to do research....and as a fan I am allowed to make statements that are a general impression about my team. Which is what this statement is.  Yet you turn it into yet another opportunity to pucker your sphincter. Good thing you are going to London and France....as you need to get a life.

                          Gip...

I love your surveys and trivias and stuff, but never place any stock in your opinions... which turn on the last thing you read/heard/saw until you've had every possible one on every topic, player, etc. Only way you can claim to say, "I said...", as much as you do.

You spout stuff all the time, get owned and refuse to acknowledge it... ever... and not just with me.

You said ,"Crow up the middle". I gave you that data. You got what you asked for... now you want to bitch about that. Fine...

You may now have the last word... since you always have to anyway... but back to the ignore list for you, so I'll never see it. Also will help assure I don't offend your delicate sensibilities again... at least for a while.

And I have the same opinion about your opinions.  You may spend your life looking up data...but your opinions are just as effing full of shite as everyone else's around here.

You spout stuff all the time, get owned and refuse to acknowledge it... ever... and not just with me.

And you fuhucking knew what I meant and confirmed it by your link....that the Browns ran up the middle constantly and got nowhere with it. But you had to play the pedantic pluperfect prick and nitpick over the fact that I said "Crow" and did not include "Duke".... That is such a weasly mindset move on your part.

You may now have the last word... since you always have to anyway... but back to the ignore list for you, so I'll never see it. Also will help assure I don't offend your delicate sensibilities again... at least for a while.

You don't offend me....I mean.....you just confirm that you want to play the nit picky little weasel...and it amuses me and you mistake being "offended" for what is really simply my intution to debate.  And now you want to act like female genitalia and put me on the "ignore" list. How craven is that?  How totally teenage female is that? Completely.

Go ahead....I will continue to read your posts for a combination of reasons:  A. Because you will often give some accurate data.  B. Because you will continue to have opinions that are just as full of shite as the rest of ours....and that is what this place is all about anyway  C. Because I have never played the high school drama queen by putting people on ignore. It is just such a pimple faced pussy move for anyone to do...and I won't do it.

You can have Tour's penile protrusion in your mouth.  Either concept does the Browns no good.  But you may prefer the latter personally.
