Start Kevin Hogan!

Take a look at all 3 INTS in the first half against the Texans. All poor throws for a guy with no NFL arm. He's not good enough. There's a reason he was available and the Chiefs didn't even want him to be the backup. He had his chance and he Sheet on himself for all of us to see.
Was it because he has a poor arm or because th gameplan didn't focus on his strengths? Should he be making long vertical? I'm really not defending as much as sincerely asking.

Hogan said that the DL was trying to bat his passes down, ie "running around with their arms up" and he tried to lob it over the DL. He just put too much on it and it sailed over Duke's head. On a play in the middle of the field he can't do that, he knows that now. He said that he has to stay on his technique and if the DL bats it down then that is a good play by them, but he learned from that.
He's a smart QB and one that will actually learn from his mistakes... unlike another QB that guys are putting up on a toadstool.

Does it really matter?
Hogan has played his best ball as a reliever for the starter. That's his best role. That should be his only role. He had a week to prepare with the first string and he looked absolutely horrible. The number of overthrown passes was too many to count...and many of those could have been picked. At best Hogan is a backup.
Kessler's arm leaves a lot to be desired, to the point that it is not of NFL caliber. His sideline throws could almost be timed with a sundial. He's also gun shy...as soon as the pocket breaks apart he's running for his life - probably the result of multiple concussions received last season. He does appear to be able to read and digest a defense, but he ducks for cover too soon, eliminating the opportunity to make a throw. Another player who, at best, is a backup.
Kizer looks the part of a franchise quarterback: big, tall, mobile, cannon arm. His most glaring problem is arguably one that is fixable - the ability to accurately read a defense. He's got to be able to determine what coverage the defenders are playing, identify where the defenders are located, anticipate their movements, and select a receiver who will be open against that defense. So far he's been unbelievably inefficient in this regard - particularly in the red zone. On Gruden's pre-draft QB show Kizer appeared the most knowledgeable chalk talker of any of the QB prospects, which makes his performance to-date all the more frustrating. Other QB's have had horrible first seasons that were plagued with tons of INTs, and then went on to have great careers (Aikman, Peyton). Not saying that Kizer is akin to those QBs, but perhaps the best thing for his development is to be on the field and play. He won't learn as much sitting on the sideline, and the team is not going anywhere with either Hogan or Kessler at the helm.
But does it really matter? Are any of these players truly franchise quarterbacks? Because that's what the Browns need - and what the fans deserve.
I'm all-in on taking the best QB available with the Browns first pick in the 2018 draft. Anything else at this point is patently unacceptable.

So the Browns Defense blows loads right? They gave up 26 points... but the next week they didn't allow a TD.
Guys, it's a game of inches. Each game tells it's own tale. Every game played again for the first time, even with the same exact players, is going to be completely different each and every time a game is played.
Some of us Browns fans deserve this losing culture however. What if Hogan is the guy? And you are all ready to chase him out of town and anoint yet another rookie 'savior' until he stinks then rinse wash and repeat.

Hogan did not have a week to prepare for the start. It was thrust upon him on Wednesday with only 3 days to play. I don't doubt he wasn't ready though. He prepares each and every day to be the starter, thus why he was in position to be the starter.

more excuses for a back up QBs shitty performance as a starter.

This is absolutely true of people who think Kevin Hogan and his noodle arm is the next Steve Young.
Noodle Arm -LOLOLOL!!! That's hilarious. Did you come up with that yourself. Would make sense, since it's certainly untrue.

Kevin Hogan and his noodle arm has made one start in his career.
I bet he doesn't make another 15 starts in his entire career. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't come close to that, actually.

Exactly, 1 start. Kizer has Sheet the bed 6 times. Kessler 8 times. You guys are bad at math... and it's very basic math at that.
